Hello beautiful people. My lovely stalker just hit 22 and I decided to respec her so I could finally slot all the awesome ATO's @CrudeVileTerrorhas given me when I made my original starter topic. I figured I'd reslot my powers appropriately to use those and IO the rest. When I clicked "Finish" at the end of the respec, the game said "respec failed" and all the enhancements that were not slotted BEFORE the respec (which includes to three of the ATOs) were lost. I opened a petition but I'm not sure the system works on Homecoming so I post here as well. Furthermore, I got this in my chat log, Is this a known issue? Do I have hope of getting my lovely ATOs back? Thanks!

Hello beautiful devs. I am exploring the Rogue islands for the first time and I really REALLY enjoy the mission content, so much better than blue side. But with the amont of text going by in certain missions, it's almost impossible to follow the bubbles of text so I end up reading the chat log instead, often in the middle of battle. Dark blue against black background is VERY HARD to read. This applies to Cutscene captions and NPC dialog. Could it be changed? If there is an option for us to do so, I never found it. Thanks!! I don't hate /fire THAT much, I can get used to it if I color it properly. I played a lot of /rad and I agree that it's ... well, rad. So far I have a Claw/Bio brute that's surprisingly better than I imagined her to be. Maybe I'll have a sugar mommy instead.

SCADS and TAUNGGLE are awesome words which I will gleefully add to my functional vocabulary. However, with three different answers, my quest for an easy way out is nowhere closer to completion. Hello beautiful people! I've been playing with all melee types lately. Developed a really powerful love relationship with stalkers, for those who recall my funny topic. But this here is a brute vs scrapper question. I love me some alts but money is not easy. I'm currently playing the Market game and thanks to awesome people like @LuminaraI'm getting quite good at it, but it takes significant time to amass enough founds to deck out ONE character properly and I want to deck out so many of them: I'll need a character that will be able to solo crowds and loot all sorts of happy things. A sugar daddy, if you will. But the last thing I want is a one trick poney like a spine/fire brute, designed to play one and only one mission. Also, spine is by far the most visually offensive powerset in the whole game and /fire's damage aura gives me headaches. I'm a special snowflake. Aren't we all. So I'm looking at a Elec/Shield because AoE galore, (Yes, I understand bosses will be hard). So the question is, brute or scrapper? In terms of flat damage, a scrapper is about 160% of a brute, which means the brute needs to be at 80 rage to keep up. 80 rage seems to be the easy to reach ceiling. Beyond that, you need a lot of thing taking trying to beat the tar out of you. Then, as soon as the scrapper starts critting, it out-damages the brute. But the brute is a lot more solid. But I'm told that a semi-well decked scrapper at 50 is pretty much unkillable. I. CAN'T. DECIDE. Could you guys please give me opinions and info? Correct my above statements if they're wrong etc. Also, I'm not looking to know which one is better once they have fifty shades of incarnates and six billion spent on them, I want to know which is better naked, in the street of Steel Canyon on a cold rainy night. You know. The usual. You're all awesome.

I tried my hand at AE when it originally came out. It's fun, but I honestly don't have the time to invest. Family + career, all I have left is the little time I'd rather spend playing the game. Though I need to explore the existing AE content more. There has to be a few hidden gems behind the legions of farms.

Speaking of stalking, I'm almost done with Praetoria and I just got the Loyalist mission "Hunt down Shen", in which endless waves of minions add up every 4-5 seconds. I wanted to ignore them since they give no XP, but they see through stealth. Soon, I had 80+ pointless minions on me. Who in Statesman's smelly shoes thought such a mission would EVER be a good idea?

I agree with you but what I ask is actually the exact opposite: the arcs are already mostly awesome. It's the run-of-the-mill stuff that needs to be diversified.

There is one thing CoH has and does not have. Variety. It has variety in giving us the ability to create hundreds of truly different characters, allowing us to keep experimenting the content in new, different ways. And it has various content in the form of many, many types of enemy groups and map sets. Unfortunately for that second part, this is true for unique story arcs only. Suggestion: incorporate more maps/tilesets/enemy groups in the generic missions. Like it or not, the bulk of non-arc contact missions and radio missions are essentially the same maps and enemies over and over again. It's Council, Arachnos, CoT. It's a cave, a warehouse or an office building. Yesterday we were doing blue side level 30-ish Marchand Provost arc, fighting those corrupted enemies and seeing hamidon maps and longbow bases and we all agreed: This should happen more often. The content is already there! Just disseminate it! CoH is a journey game, make the journey even more exciting!

I did, this afternoon. Rolled a Claw/Bio that I spent 2 hours running with a Mastermind friend. Was insane fun! That was my first brute ever and an angry brute is FUN.

You guys make me want to roll a Claw character again. Maybe a brute this time. When I'm not busy making more stalkers. Still on my Kin/EA, but I wanna try more combos. Elec/Elec, Ice/Dark, SJ/SD, Psy/Something. This game. Man, this game.

A solid case of "to each his own" I guess. My very, very first CoH character was a claw/regen scrapper and I never got her passed 34 or 35, She felt weak and needed to hit everything ten times before they fell. That was 25 issues ago, however. Perhaps things changed since then.

Playing the market is actually pretty fun. I guess I just need to learn to be good at it.

@VileTerrorI saw your message in game, sent you a PM 🙂 My global is not very hard to guess 😄 @LuminaraYes I'm still a neophyte but I use the markets and I convert enhancements to try and make a little money. It seems to have caught on so, it's not as lucrative as it once might have been. I'd say I have 100 Million spread across all my characters. My highest is 36 mind you, I have 26 characters rolled but 6 of those have been abandoned already. I alt a lot, still looking for the combos I really like. Initially I was supposed to be playing this alone but my old CoH crew decided to try with me and they all fell in love and for some 2 months, it was hectic and good. But then last week, WoW released an expansion, so I am once again pretty much alone. Also: my friends never wanted to play Redside with me so, I progress very slowly.

Oh I remember it all right, it drove my Archery blaster back then, I just enjoyed your humor so much! That passage where you described Rain of Arrows as something almost orgasmic before going "0_o STOP LOOKING AT MY LIKE THIS!" Loved it. A good guide filled with humor becomes a great guide. @FoulVileTerrorThanks for the tip!! Oh dear... ATO`s a 100 merits a piece, that's 1200 Merits for Stalker's two sets. I don't think I've ever had more that 80 merits on a character.

I think I remember you from the forum being a real defender enthusiast. I also seem to remember you writing a really awesome Archery guide. Was that even you? Also, and please, please don't mock... what's an ATO?

So much love going around! When I joined Homecoming, I immediately fell in love with Controllers, I have made 7 of them over my stay and kept 4 of them active, 3 I decked, I didn't like. Blasters are still a thing with me. I love to blast in all sorts of various, entertaining ways. I also made a Mastermind I liked enough to get to 30. I play her once in a while. But my main shtick has always been scrappers. Until now. I do intend to try one of those actually!

... it's not you, it's me. We've had good times, we've had excellent times. You were my first 50 on live. And with Homecoming, I looked forward to try all your new sexy powersets and for a time, I did and for a time, it was good. But then yesterday I crossed the Stalker Archetype in a hallway and casually, I just said hi. She smiled and asked me if I wanted to go for a character roll. I mean, I always knew she was there, that she was available, but I figured she would only be a fling, a cheap thrill. From afar, she looked so hollow, so artificial and without substance. Just pretty and empty, you know? Not at all like you, faithful scrapper, so solid, loyal, even and predictable. I always avoided her and kept thinking you were everything I needed, I didn't want to explore. It began with such an innocent Kinetic touch, just an unseen brush of the hand really. Her Energy Aura pulled me in, it was all over for me. You need to understand. The thrill of one-shotting a yellow lieutenant at level 10 unenhanced. The crazy criticals. The fun of being everywhere without being seen. And she has all your powersets. I'm sorry.
