  1. T is obviously for Teasing 😉 But yeah, it makes sense. The market game is the best game. You just need to find increasingly efficient ways of playing it. People are understandably not keen on sharing advanced strategies because that would hurt their market. It's all good, discovering is half the fun!! Keep being awesome, @Yomo Kimyata, thanks for being a positive part of this community!
  2. I call shenanigans on this my good sir. I tried and it didn't work. It's ok if you want to keep your secret. I'll just be there. In the corner. Crying. In silence.
  3. Sounds awesome. You're way stronger than me! On my end, the issue is not financial but spatial/physical. I chose to have two daughters and no one told me how much room space these things take 😉 But hey, my oldest is into boxing so, we do that instead. (Getting real off topic here, apologies! I'm still curious to know @Yomo Kimyata`s secret!)
  4. Nope. Squats are better than everything. Would I be able to automate my farming, I'd be squatting with you! I terribly miss my gym and the glorious squat rack and its olympic bar.
  5. Totally agreed. I often pick lowbies with my AE farmer and the only pricetag is "Keep me entertained. Tell me a joke, I don't care if it's bad. Drop one liners. Do stuff. RP. Just don't be a idle sitter; have a little fun while you see the crazy exp come in!"
  6. This topic is amazing, and you are an amazing person, though I will not be using this opportunity, I'm already doing well for myself. At least, I thought I was. Across all my characters, I have perphaps 2Bil. Now I see you with a hundred times that. How?? Farming is effortless but only takes you so far. I'm alreary quite good at the marketing game but on a good weekend I'll do... 300-400 millions top. Don't give me fish, teach me how to fish! 🙂
  7. More please. Seriously. This is entertaining. I want the next part 🙂
  8. It wil depend on the character. Some characters I just roll for the powersrts with no idea in mind so I will make 1-2 costumes, make a gobal theme for their power color and that's it. Then i have characters based on something else. Example: I am a HUGE Phantasy Star fan (hence the username) and I made 4-5 of my CoH characters based on that game. These guys will get more attention to their costume, more power details etc. Then I also have characters that are themed as a group. I have a bunch of female characters who all belong to the same heoric formation, think Power Rangers but CoH style so, their costumes and names are all linked on a theme. And finally, I have 2-3 characters that I really REALLY like, those get 5-6 different costumes for different situations, full power customisation, bio etc. CoH is marvelously adaptable in so many ways.
  9. Anecdotal, pointless but slightly funny: In a mission with my lowbie Dual Blade scrapper and, being her helpless unenhanced little self, she's doing crap damage. The only thing that came to mind was "I wonder where I can buy better swords." Yeah... not that kind of game 😉 Anyone else with similar pointless anecdotes?
  10. Yes, this is the best way to me as well. I have already broken the inf ceiling on a character doing that and the repetitive action puts my ADHD brain to rest.
  11. Three purples in 1.5h of play. 2 in the same small mission. Streaky you say? Wonky you say? Indeed, Edit: Make that 5 in 2 hours...
  12. Absolutely! My bad! @KauaiJimThat post was... delicious. I salute your dedication 🙂
  13. Aaaaand a purple just dropped because the RNG gods love to poke fun at me.
  14. Hello beautiful people! Just a quick curiosity question: I know they're called "rares" for a reason but, are there other factors than "pure dumb luck" for purple recipe drops? I remember some time ago, I was in a farm (levelling) with someone who kept getting 1-2 every other map (we knew because he made it a point to distribute them among the sitters/helpers). Still, in all my time since my own farming machine got to 50, I got maybe 2-3 of those but for the last... 50 maps or so, not a one. I consistently play at +4x8, I use a Windfall once in a while. So there you go. Just curious. It's not a big deal since money comes from about 48 other sources and my market tank is twenty times more efficient at money making than my farm brute but still, just curious. Did I mention that I was just curious? Have a good one.
  15. I'll just be content with Homecoming. For years I missed my little colorful power icons and my flying over Paragon City. Now Homecoming allows me to have all that again. It will last as long as it will last. Doesn't look like it's going anywhere for a while still.
  16. No sunset for Bill Z. This right there is poetry. I salute you sir.
  17. Hello beautiful people! I decided to pick up the very first character I rolled on Homecoming: An Energy/Atomic Manipulation blaster. It's fun to blast a bit since my mind is been one of melee for the last few months. Then I realised: Atomic is all about getting things in that sweet beta decay and to PBAOE them to kingdom come. Energy is all about pushing things away. Did I just gimp myself? I know I can slot KB to KD to my heart's content but doing that to what... six powers? Seems like a LOT of slots wasted. Is there a better primary to go with Atomic? Preferable one that complements it? Thanks!!
  18. Thank you so much!! (Once again proving that I am blind AF)
  19. I was wondering if a guide to "Staple" set IOs exists for Frankenslotting and mule powers. Stuff like LotG Global Rech Speed and Steadfast Protection Res/Def 3% and such. I'm still painfully new to sets and builds and remembering all those is quite a challenge! I have looked on the first few pages and I haven't found one.
  20. I completely agree. Duo with just enough mobs can produce the "Oh sh**!" moments you want in a game and when you pull through, you can be proud that you did out of strategy and synergy and not just because your build was good. Yes, player skill can influence solo play, but in this game, not by much.
  21. I guess I'm all over the place on this one, or at least, I will be once I have a few 50s with maxed incarnates. There's so much end-game content I have never seen, so many zones I have never been to, so many arcs I have never played. And I've been playing this game for most of Live's lifespan (I joined Homecoming some 4-5 months ago). But it's not just a matter of levels and content. CoH is a game that, albeit all its qualities, scales really badly. I find that the sweet spot is a team of 4-5 players in the 10-40 bracket. Lower than 10, it's just three powers and brawl like someone said earlier. Beyond that? The game becomes too easy. 8 member teams? Too hectic. Yesterday I was playing my new Ice/Ice tank, she was 20. I advertized for a group and was immediately picked up by a 7-man team who were doing a story arc at max level, x8 +4. Everything was deep purple and with my two slotted SO powers, I could do nothing (understandable) but EVEN if I had been a fully tricked 50 tank, I would STILL have done nothing: whole spawns died faster than I could target them. At max level, you either try and be part of the DPS onslaught or you become useless. Crowd control, aggro, buffs, debuffs, they don't matter anymore, which is a shame because this game is so beautifully made for that at lower levels. Unfortunately, in its current state, CoH max level becomes a solo game, otherwise everythng is too easy. And since all my friends quit the game, I guess I can live with that.
  22. Right, right, makes sense. Though I understand that making Hasten perma these days is extremely hard. But is hasten required on SR (only one click power) / SM (hectic melee set, everything already recharges super fast)? Also: I keep seeing people mentioning DDR. What does it mean? Somehow, all I can think of when I see this is my characters stepping on happy arrows over some frantic j-pop music (which is awesome, by the way). I already use visual timers, it's one of the best features of the game, can't live without it! Speaking of tanks, because I'm in a tank mood lately; my Ice/Ice tank is now level 23. I can't even get over how much I love that character! It's like my wet dream of a controller with damage and survivability has come true!
  23. I seriously love all the ideas stated above, thank you so much guys and keep em coming! At this pace, I'm going to need more than one /DA to experiment. Maybe a stalker? I love this game.
  24. I remember on live someone said Though/Weave (along with boxing) were intended to give squishies like controllers some means to do and soak damage. Maybe. That person could have been mistaken. One thing is for sure: in 2021, the fighting pool has become the new fitness (mandatory) pool and it annoys me. I'll try different stuff: allowing players to be imaginative and try stuff is what CoH does best.
  25. Hey nice thanks!! I just realized SR's mez protection is a click. Ew. Oh well. It's not like this build needs hasten to hog the auto-click.
