  1. So much awesome advice!! Thank you! I think I'm going to try quite a few of those. Speaking of: is there a known bug with Rad/ scrapper? I played her a lot this week end and I never ever seen her crit, not even once. My Warmace/ scrapper crits at least twice every pull.

  4. Not sure if this has been mentioned so far but: Away with the single target buffs. I'm looking at you, Force field, Cold Domination, Thermal Radiation etc ect. There is nothing more archaic, more 2004 than: "Click member 1, buff. Click member 2, buff. Click member 3, buff..." in a team of 8 players. Excluding pets. There is no situation where you'd say "Gee, I wish the blaster had more defense but the scrapper can go suck a lemon" and as far as I know, since most of these buffs are applied out of combat, there's no tactical advantage to have them a targeted or PB AoE. I have systematically avoided those sets because of that: it's not a service, it's a chore. Let me buff my team all at once darn you!
  5. Elec armor happens to be one I haven't touched yet and I want to try it. Rad armor is indeed fun but I already have it on my main scrapper and I don't want to play the same road twice in a row. So no staff? Savage looks fun, easy to conceptualize a savage/electric character. Hadn't thought about ice so far, looks fun too.

  8. Hello beautiful people! So my last scrapper (rad/rad) is coming along nicely, thanks to some good help I got here. I like her a lot and she's very solid but she's an endurance hog and she feels... sluggish? I'd like to make me a fast-paced scrapper to balance out and I was thinking about Staff/Fire. I know that Claws and Katana are fast but I've already played those two to death in live. I know Fire is the least solid of the secondaries but it does provide a good faceplant recover. I checked the forum stats and Staff/Fire is deep, deep in the basement of less popular combos. Is it that bad? Opinions and suggestions?

  10. Just made a Witch-Themed, Magic Ice/Time Controller. Wasn't really afraid to see this name taken but I thought that "Eydn-Sholda Nizantos" was funny.
  11. My villain is always alone! Granted, I don't play him all the time but when I do play him, I'd love to have friends and this would be a good incentive to create new villains! I'm 100% game to join such a group! Is it still happening on Excelsior?

  13. I tend to agree with @Coyote My Elec/Time doesn't have much in terms of hard control, I almost never use my mass-hold. Doesn't need to when everything is utterly drained of endurance, debuffed to the floor and crawling very slowly with tons of -recharge on them. So far, ice/rad looks yummy, but this doesn't solve my first question: Elec/Time or Elec/Elec?
  14. Hello beautiful people! I never played a controller on live. Decided to try it here and I'm completely engrossed. Each of my controllers was created after discussing with people here. My Ill/Traps is insane fun and my Elec/Time remains my main character, insane in teams. Then I started looking at ice/ and /elec. A Ice/elec sounds nice on paper, focused on staying near the tank, heavy on debuffs. But then I'm starting to wonder if my main shouldn't have been elec/elec instead. Would it be redundant? She's level 29 now and I don't really want to restart her unless I'm certain it's the good decision. Your thoughts, as always, are appreciated. Edit: And suppose we all agree that elec/elec is the way to go, what complements Ice/ well? Because never enough alts.

Brings me to a very neat SG base with all the utilitary NPCs, trainers, vaults, services and TPs in the game. Am I in trouble now? Is this cheating? Thanks!
  16. You, sir and/or madam, misunderstand me gravely. I said "settle on ten", as in, "I shower these ten chosen characters with infinite amounts of love because they transcend awesomeness." My other 53 alts, however, are only extremely cool.
  17. That was me, almost a month ago. Welcome home. Don't settle on one character. Settle on ten. Kick ass. Raise hell. Have a good time. This place is amazing.
  18. Unfortunately, the only way to clear the water between us is for us to duo a task force, compare our number of kills (exaggeration is allowed) and find new and creative way to send Family mobsters flying as far as possible from the top of the Independence Port bridges. Nothing else will do.
  19. I just want to clarify: "Made for team" doesn't mean "Not made for everyone else". What I meant was, "If you like teaming, this game does it exceedingly well.@ As for solo, yes, quite doable. But personally, and that is just an opinion, I find it super slow and boring, bordering tedious. Just by duoing, you increase the fun well over a factor of two. Again: opinion.

Oh yeah I solo my fair share as well, but I would be lying if I said it was any fun compared to the complete mayhem you get with a 8-man group swinging Tsoo all over the place in a warehouse-rave. CoH is ok to solo players. CoH is fine to duos and trios. But 8 people madness? CoH is just king. No comparable experience in any other online games I have ever played.
  21. Three nights ago, someone on Excelsior was broadcasting for Radio teams in Steel Canyon. I joined with my water blaster. The first mission was a Bank protect: close quarter mess, two wipes. We laughed about it, no one complained. We got our groove and then proceed to run 6-7 missions in a row without a hitch. Every mission, someone left, someone new came in, didn't matter: fun was had. When I left, I was 4 levels higher and the group was still going strong. This is CoH. It's meant for groups.

  23. I thought it was close melee. Changes things a little then. Still, largely useless for a scrapper. I'll most likely be using another respec to come back to a more traditional travel power pool. Superspeed comes with a decent attack and well, Hasten.
  24. Since I was considering taking this pool for my Beast/Dark MM (at least, before this morning's utter turnoff), why is it considered better for MMs? It's the same stats...
