  1. Not sure if you solved this yet, but to select an NPC do the following... Not my solution, but it works really well. 1. Zoom in close over the npc you want to select. 2. Select anything like you are going to place it. It doesn't matter what it is. You aren't going to place it. 3. Mouse over the npc. 4. Tab until you see the name of your npc. It works best the fewer items you have in line of sight. 5. Once the npc is in your item window, use your left alt button like you are going to rotate it. This changes the item to the npc. (This might not be necessary but it seems to lock it in in my experience...havent tested extensively) No left clicking yet. At this point you can fine tune it's position, height, or angle using the various positioning chords... or just hit delete and it should evaporate. 6. Left clicking will place it. Rinse and repeat to get it perfect... Ctrl+z to undo. @dacy gets the credit for telling me, and I think @onemantankwall found it... Nonetheless it works great.
  2. It actually was pretty easy... I thought it would be, but when I moused the beacon over the shard, the shard's box glowed yellow so I placed and sunk it. I was placing them directly on the shard, so I think the beacon had no problem recognizing the attachment. Only problem I had was between my ears... I tried to check them all, but my hero alignment wouldn't allow me to look at the villain destinations, so I thought they weren't right, despite them showing in the attachments.. Deleted,, redid it, same thing... SMH Also, have to give credit to @Dacy, this is kind of derivative of her ship's porters. Soo many creative and bright people building bases.
  3. Here was what I came up with... This was before I added the other room details but you can stand in one spot and access everything.
  4. I got the answer, if anyone is interested. Nothing other than /attach_cycle exists. F5 it is.
  5. Ooo... a flame war... Can I play? I think you will find that the height of the table does not match the grid height. I was just placing items on a table (the club table and couch/booth combo) and the grid was set to 1. It placed in the table top. Shift lift it up, and it was hovering above it. Attachment to surface or floor didn't matter. If you set attachment to surface, disable grid, it will be precisely on the top of the table. Now, whether it will stay there after base shift remains to be determined. I stacked plates to look like a...well...stack of plates. When I came back, they had snapped to grid so intead of 10 plate stack, I had 3 plates and they were suspended above each other. Such is the cost of building below the box. As for item requests: More options for surfaces... Walls, floors, ceilings. I think that has already been mentioned, but a tintable wall segment would be great. Same with floors... More options for floors on the tech side would be great. Things like knobs and handles. Definitely smaller letters to echo previous posters. Base shift turned my soap letters into Chinese. I don't read Chinese, but I think it told me to go take a flying leap. A silent Inspiration Collector. That thing is huge, makes a huge racket, and the effect penetrates walls at a significant distance. Plas out.
  6. Well, if you want to compare powersets to powersets, AR isn't as strong as something like fire/fire. Honestly, though... IDC. It is a blast to play. One of my favorite toons is AR/Dev. I loved the effects, and not many things are as satisfying as unleashing Full Auto on a mob. Audio and effects... LOVE it. In fact, on a different server my AR/Dev solo'd ITF at +0x1. Webnade kept the AVs from running off and out of range. He can fire farm at +4x8, but I have to be careful. Without the taunt to keep the mobs in AOE, they scatter and its tedious picking them off... Trops keeps the melee off of you. Scorpion shield plus def bonuses had him defcapped. Its a good build. Of course, he was T4'd all across the board, it was like a 700 mil inf build, had all the bonus accolades, like TFC, Atlas Medallion, and whatever the others are... Can't remember off the top of my head. Lot of work to build him, but I thought it was worth it so I started another. In any case, check him out... | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Reborn : Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1557;726;1452;HEX;| |78DA65944973125110C7DF308308090604423089014290B00592E8D15D73485285C| |47B0AC348B028A080549993FBDDF562566F713DB9DE5CBF85EB0730F16869956333| |FF66A962AA667EEFFDBBFB4DF79B7E337BF164F7B3A92B4784643D51C854ABF3C7E| |959532B96B3EAC262B15428E596055DF6D9CC8552C59B566B95FCB9A55ABE543491| |3AC0CEF3E94C31A766E3C7AAD5CC52A1369FCE9F2FA8EE86716EA95C2E556AF1A94| |C36A7D6AAA227552A15E2336A26AB56AA8BF97277635ECE1773567D723A9F5BACD1| |CCA2CFE6CAAA9AF59C2AE717E28D3567330B2A3DEAE3E53ECA244AF788685C9A510| |84588A4220C12D3002A3253017719C14BAD58215206D2CC22483389D793B6E06779| |C87C04763F663E01F73C052F5394CCB1F273B6BD006D2F99AFC0BDAF996FC010451| |939D6F859D635E717E657B0F71BF33BD8F703B4D36731E9496BB2699B6D3BE03EA7| |04BAC0ABE46586AFC1BC859A0756880EE25A9D8A0893B50BB9285D31831EB73FCE1| |C6326406F121C256F2B6224EB0CDBA6C15ECAAF07EF143D9C87449A9DEBB5DFC41E| |786F81BEDBCC3BCCBBE0F03DF03A4539B85E87BE9E490C7B051800034EE832BDC7C| |5F5BA0E13681E709330A888C0B8ACFB28A4B9D9C7FD9B306812411BE283BCBE9F7C| |3CF0913C11815ED169143708FD5C4BFF2A723CB0C65C676E80A39BCC07E0B5FAEBB| |807072784AEC50843BCDED07D7CC7D11530BCCA5C63AE83D10DF0AF4D083FD7E277| |60AFA3DC03511BF8C7D638379A1809A296FA590AB1161A441EFFC82FC27944DE22D| |FD83BE67BE60770EC23F313588F8B730FC5C7D10763136072927988791074D01E27| |B84F123EA1F7E280D23CA3B23843F0D3F94D81BBD3CC39D0A7340EAFA68595B6B3A| |DD125121D4AB24399E850263B949976C58CCC534AF3AF21A40876CF6C6BFE0DB49F| |16B27365520CF69D76CD87AFB7DDAE85E0F7AB5DF3429B7610786D8F93C65CF5515| |76BBCD9E6F3D0DF1A4FB95BE3E970B316ED3FE630E9A7| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
  7. I don't know how much effort you are willing to put into it, but if you were so inclined, you could use tintable letter "I" and match it to the color of the rest of your roof, and stack and layer them in a position where they overlap and fan out away from a single point. It would be imperfect, and depending upon size, take a fair number of pieces. IDK if you are interested in placing that many. At least once you got your color right, subsequent pieces would be the same color.
  8. I can't find an answer to this anywhere and maybe someone smarter than me (98% of the community) knows. I'm looking for a slash command to set item attachment instead of f5. Through a happy accident I found out that when in base edit mode, your mouse and some of your keys get re-bound. F5 gets rebound to "attach_cycle" which is good to know, I suppose. I'm looking to create individual macros/keybinds so instead of cycling through all the options, I can just press one key and select what I want. It has been very helpful with snap angles and distances. This way, instead of being too quick on the draw and cycling past what I'm looking for (sometimes 2 or 3 times - yeah, I get a little excited) I can just pick what I want. /attach_floor didn't work, and I tried multiple other perturbations hoping to stumble across it... No joy. If anyone knows, TIA! Plas
  9. I've inverted and sunk it and used it as a floor in my vault. Still makes a racket and the clickable area is twitchy but you can see it if you enable hidden markers.
  10. I've superimposed the two versions on each other but you still get some of the coloring showing through. Could possibly angle one piece and get a good front side but a good doorway would be awesome.
