True! One is an AR/Devices Blaster and the other is a TW/Fire Brute. I could continue with the weapons theme. The 2 I had in mind (if I were to go Defender) would be either Time/DP or Trick Arrow/Archery. Since you seem pretty knowledgeable, do you have a recommendation? =]

I do primarily team with at least 2 other buddies. I guess that answers that =P

Hi all! For a while now, I wanted to make an Archery themed hero and have decided to roll one out! My last decision is to either roll an A/Tac Arrow Blaster or Trick Arrow/A Defender or Corrupter. I understand that each archetype their main strengths with the sets (Blaster = more Damage, Defender = better buffs, Corrupter kind of a combo of the 2. I know historically Tactical Arrow was the better of the 2 choices, but Trick Arrow has recently been buffed to come more in line with it. My question is does anyone of any experience with the builds, and is there any synergy between the sets that a newbie like myself might not be aware of? Thanks all!

I’m interested in possibly running a Dual Pistol/Tactical Arrow Blaster or a Trick Arrow/Dual Pistol Defender. Does anyone have experience with either of these combos? How do they flow? I’d imagine it COULD be jarring jumping from one set of weapons to the other. If you use “no redraw” do the weapons just disappear when you switch between power sets? Hi all! New PvP player here. I’m hoping to build a blaster and wanted some insight on solid builds/power set combos! I had my eyes set on either Ice/ or Dark/ as the primary, mixed with either /Energy or /Electric for the secondary. I’m open to options though! I hear some things like DP/TA can be spicy proc monsters =P I also have a lv 50 EM/EA Stalker. Is that a build worth investing in for PvP? Thanks in advanced all!

I also just found your build, so no worries! Although I’m still interested in how the flow between TA/DP is compared to TA/Arrow.

You mind sharing your build? How does TA/DP feel as far as flow? Is it jarring moving between weapons?

I just wanted to hop back in this thread and said thanks to everyone for all their insight and advice. I decided to roll an Elec/Storm, mostly for a thematic reasons. Into the 30's now and having a great time! Definitely a combo/archetype I feel will really shine once I get proper sets in it. Hearing from everyone here though has me wanting to roll 5 more controllers 😂

Grav/Storm is a classic pairing I hear! So many good options. Thanks for the insight man. I’ve heard that about Elec/Storm. Some tell me they just drop the sleep at their feet as a way to mitigate baddies when they run at them, but I agree that you’re kind of pigeon-holing yourself into only using it that one way.

Hi Heroes! I’ve historically been a melee archetype player, but want to try my hand at my first controller! I’ve settled on doing a /Storm controller, but I’m a little torn as to which primary to pair it with. The ones that have caught my eye are Elec/Storm, Earth/Storm or Dark/Storm. Do any one have any recommendations with any of these pairings? Or do any of you have a particularly cool/powerful combo with /Storm that you would like to recommend? Thanks in advance!

Hi all! A buddy of mine has been running a TW/Fire Brute, and it’s pretty awesome! I haven’t built a scrapper yet on Homecoming, so I thought I’d roll one =] Was looking at TW/Bio, since it seems like a good, strong combo. However, I noticed in i27 that they made some changes to TW. Apparently passive damage was removed, but some CD’s on skills we lowered. Also, they changed the redraw on it to be more in line with Katana’s. My question is, how is TW/Bio on scrappers after these changes? Have they had a negative impact, or is it still top tier? Thanks all!

So I’m running a couple Stalkers right now, one of which being a Staff/Bio. I can’t find a build for one anywhere! Does anyone have any experience with the combo, or a build they could share? Thanks!

This is super helpful thanks. I’ve read a ton that DB’s is clunky with a Stalker, so it’s great that you de-bunked that for me! Perhaps I run a DB/EA and EM/EA haha. Kind of fill different holes.

Nice! Any of those primaries you feel mesh particularly well with /EA? EM/EA of course sounds like a natural pair. How do you feel about EM now? I know a year ago it was something of a joke, but apparently after some recent changes it has jumped to the front of the pack?

Thanks man! Since I rock a Shield/Elec tanker and a Invuln/SS tanker as well as a Claws/Elec Brute, I feel I have 3 level 50’s (plus my Fire/Rad farmer) who are great at clearing trash mobs. I don’t really have that one hero that can SIT A BOSS DOWN. Psi and Ninja blade would be good at that? I hear CAN have some high resistance late game, but is great if you go the PvP route. Ninja Blade has the -def, which could help it. It seems Savage/Staff could be a nice mix of both, which interests me. Dual Blades LOOKS sweet, but I hear (for a stalker) that you NEED to take Placate in order for the set to work. Is that the case? I’ve seen your posts on the forums, so I’d love to hear the combo of powersets and builds you think are great!
