Galaxy Brain is Professor X, and this sim is our Danger Room.
-
Does the simulator have a personal bias, by chance? It is called the "BRUTAL" mission simulator. Might favor them a bit more 😉 *slow claps for himself*
-
First off, I love your profile avatar 😛 second, what do you mean best variant of Savage? Savage Melee?
-
idk why people aren't taking @Infinitum and @Galaxy Brain 's offers to run tests. IMHO, pylon tests are "silo'd" data, where you're testing and comparing something that is good at ONE particular thing, and only doing that. To be a dork (and combine my interests) if you take a professional boxer and an MMA fighter and all you have them do is hit a heavy bag with a 1-2, the boxer is probably going to do better. But if we cycle through BJJ, muay thai, sambo, what-have-you into it.... the MMA fighter most likely will outperform. That is why I really like Galaxy's test, it is a more realistic simulation of what you might run into in game. That being said, there are valid points on all sides and everyone is entitled to their opinion! This game is a blast to play nonetheless, and I feel you can make anything work. I tanked a +4 ITF on my Elec/Elec/Elec Sentinel the other day, and it was tons of fun 😛

Data is data, and data is king =P

One thing I’m noting: it seems like Rad Armor is a power set that requires a lot of pics, similar to Invuln. Might be best to pair it with an attack set that only takes a few options for it’s rotation. Does anyone have recommendations on a set like that? I like Claws, but it seems like it requires a lot of picks. Perhaps Psi Melee, Katana, Savage or Dark Melee?
-
Is that a sign to go Kat/Rad with a lightsaber? 😉 lollll
-
Fair enough. Probably will do the same with Savage Melee/Rad while I'm at it haha.
-
Haha fair point 😄 Thanks for the inut Meknomancer, I appreciate it.
-
Thanks for the input man! Yeah it seems there are a ton a different ways to go about slotting Rad Armor. Claws/Rad Brute or Scrapper both sound like they could be fun. It's interesting, since I feel Claws might be better suited for a scrapper, and Rad Armor better suited for a Brute. Interesting conundrum.

Hi all! I’m looking to star a Rad Armor hero. The set just seems to have a lot going for it, and I haven’t had the chance to play it yet! While my primary is still undecided (I’m leaning towards Claws, Katana or Psionic Melee), I’m trying to decide what archetype to run Rad Armor WITH. The Tanker gets the higher resist cap, which is always nice. Scrappers have the higher base damage, which synergizes really well with Meltdown for MOAR DAMAGE. Brutes seem like they could be a nice middle ground, with the higher resist cap and the potential to gain more damage to go with Meltdown. Does anyone that has experience with Rad Armor like to enlighten me with what Archetype they feel it meshes best with? Also, if you have any suggestions on attack sets that partner well with Rad Armor, I am all ears!

Can we take a min to appreciate Cap’s hero design?

WHY MUST YOU DO THIS TO ME DOOM.
-
Following this thread because EA/Rad seems like it would be an uber AV killing machine that is also great at other general content. I'm liking how this build is looking!

Cap speaks the TRUTH. I also think it comes down to what you want to accomplish. Do you want to just output a ton of damage right away? Go with a Blaster. Do you want to be a nearly undying Electric God who basically keeps entire groups endurance at zero so they can barely fight back? Go with the E3 Sentinel. In my (admittedly brief) experience so far, the enemies will slowly be "arrested." It will take more time than a blaster, but it is inevitable. All the while being MUCH safer. Plus, it's just a ton of fun to play.

Man, I just got my Invuln/SS to 50 and now you're making me want to roll a Invuln/DM 😂
-
haha you're a legend Infinitum, I appreciate all of your advice you give so free on here!
-
You’ve been an advocate of DM and Invuln pairing for some time, and it DOES make total sense. How do you feel the combo works on Brutes? Is it just a superior pairing to run on tankers?
-
I guess you can KIND of fill the Footstomp on the Invuln/EM with Mighty Radial? 😂
-
Thanks so much Cap! I’ve been scouring these forums a bit and have read a few of your posts, so super happy to see you chime in! I think Elec/Elec/Elec could be a good way to go if I want to build out a tankier Sent. Perhaps swap in EA. If you ever have any builds/recommendations for those combos, I’d love to see them =]

It’s been quite a while since I’ve played MA, but I recently rolled at StJ/Bio scrapper and it is a beast. If you go down the forums a bit, you’ll find a thread discussing STJ on both a Stalker and a Scrapper. The long and short of it is, it’s great on both. Better burst on Stalker, more sustained damage on scrappers.

Hey all, So here I was, tanking for an ITF, when this Elec/Elec Sentinel has the GALL to leap frog me between camps and tank some mobs herself. All that being said, I was very impressed 😛 I'm looking to build a Sentinel myself, and I've settled on either Elec/ or Dark/ as my primary. Both are thematically cool, as well as seeming to have pretty good synergy with the Sentinel Archetype. That being said, I'm not sure what secondaries have the best synergy with either of those primaries! Elec/Elec sounds GREAT, but I just want to make sure I'm looking at all my options and not overlooking anything. Would any of you Sentinel Savants be so kind as to let me know any secondaries you feel have a really good synergy with either of those 2 primaries?

Quick Follow up on this: What incarnates do you usually take with your build?
