That makes total sense. I was having a similar train of thought. There are still some weaknesses I need to shore up in other areas, but I should be able to fix those with proper slotting. Thanks so much man.

Hi all! Was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for Alpha Incarnates for a Shield/Elec Tanker. I was looking at both Musculature for the damage boost and End mod, but Cardiac also looks nice for the End cost reduction and Damage Resistance. Any advice/opinions would be appreciated!

Thanks for this response man! Honestly, Shield/SS is kind of a dark horse coming up right now. I always steered clear because the Rage crash with a primarily defensive set scared me, but it seems like that can be mitigated on a lot of ways.

I literally just wrote on your other thread! DM/DA sounds like a lot of fun. Do you recommend a Brute or Tanker for that set up, or does it really not matter? Edit: Spelling

Hi Infinitum! I’m newer here, and I’ve noticed you’re kind of a big deal here on the forums =P I hope it’s alright that I’ve shot you a quick message, because I’d love your opinion on something. I used to play this game on live, my first 50 being a classic Invuln/SS Tanker. I’m coming back, so I want to pick up where I left off: front lining for my teams! The only difference is: I’m a Dad with a wife and 3 kids now 😂 so my playtime is rather limited. I’ll probably only be able to get on a couple nights a week, so I realistically will probably only get 1-2 heroes to 50. I’ve settled on one: A Dark Melee/Invuln Brute. I just like the synergy of those 2 sets. Since I play with 2 buddies of mine when I get on, the goal for my second hero is to create the ultimate team tanker: Shield Defense just screams that to me, plus it’s something I never played back on live! So my question is, which of these 3 secondaries would you choose to pair with SD: Electric Melee, Savage Melee or Super Strength? I was drawn to both Elec and Savage for the wombos their T9’s have with Shield bash. Both seem like they could be a lot of fun jumping around. But a friend also pointed out the synergy with SS, and how Footstomp is on a much shorter CD. I could shield bash in, and KEEP them down with Footstomp. So I really wanted to pick your brain and see what you felt would be the best combo/secondary for me to invest in =] Sorry for the novel my man!

Interesting question, since you have some experience with SS! How does it pair with Shield Defense? I like the concept.

This is perfect man. As someone who obviously loves playing Brutes, do you think that Invuln/DM ultimately has a bigger upside on a tanker? I could see the -to hit basically making you unkillable. At the same time, I could see it to really allow you to stack rage as a Brute.

That could be a really cool theme on a tank as well! I do dig the new “soul noir” look on Dark Melee animations though haha

This is AMAZING, thanks so much dude. I see you don’t pick up Grant Cover until much later in the build. I run missions with 2 other buddies typically. Do you think it would be worth for me to pick it up a bit earlier, or should I hold off?

Makes complete sense. As someone who has played Sav/Shield, do you know if the shield remains out during your attacks. I’m not sure how I’d feel if it was constantly being put away haha

Quick question on Savage paired up with Shield: does the shield go away when you do your Savage animations? Or does it stay. I would do a shadow shield, so it doesn’t matter so much thematically. Just curious!

Great to hear, will def get it! After much thought, I think I’m gonna go with either a Shield/Savage TANKER or Savage/Shield Brute. You really sold me on Savage, and the idea of jumping around with Leap and Shield charge just seems fun. Even if it may be more optimal on a Stalker, I just find myself wanting to fight on the frontlines too much. Now to just decide on either a Tanker or Brute 😂

That is good to know! I hear Shield is fairly endurance heavy? I bet the passive end reduction on Savage helps with that.
