I am back in the game. I took a long break. Been doing other endeavors. Please excuse my LAAAATE response. Two totally different classes. No comparison. Blaster's job is to blast and blast or blapper, another and yet fun role, too. A kin corruptor's first job is to buff with one of the more fun sets in the game, and a set that has powers that recharge rather quickly. Then your job is to blast. In regards to Kin, this is the same job as a defender. Corruptor has defensive buffs and debuffing instruments to keep yourself and team alive For the love of the game, make one of each.

I am back in the game. I took a long break. Been doing other endeavors. Please excuse my LAAAATE response. When coming back to the game, I used this same build, did AEON and ITF 4 stars. ITF 4 star under 30 mins, 7 deaths. AEON 4 star 37 mins, 8 deaths. This is completely current build. It is perhaps the best build for a very very cheap price. Range defense cap is a must for me. Recharge time I have in build also a must for me. Flying and evasive maneuvers is a must for me.

Looking for opinions on secondary for Illusion Control Dominator
Voltak replied to Ravenwulfe's topic in Dominator
I am giving you numbers concerning Dark Assault The test was done without using any of the primary skills or powers So It is regardless of primary. What test results do you have that establish Dark Assault in the mid range rankings , among the 12 assault sets? THis is your statement "Dark assault is a good set, but it is square in the middle of assault sets for single target damage" Do you have results that we can use to compare and see where dark places here ? If you don't have that, then that would be good to know. -
Bad teams needing 4 or 5 colds ... yeah, that's not correct. I am not wanting nor hinting that people not doing extremely hard content are useless. I am very much aware that people love playing easier content. I am aware that there are a wide variety of tastes in the game and in any game. I am not derailing anything. I am saying what I prefer and the reasons why. I said I would not pick a Rad because if all the TFs is what the OP is looking for, then the harder and much more deadly TFs the Cold defender (and electric affinity ) would be the power sets I would pick for defender given how much they bring to the team in order to help the team do those in the most efficient way possible, speed and safety. You are free to choose what you want and play however you want.

First, thank you for the compliment. That's cool of you. We should team at some time. Would be fine with me to take you on some of our runs. But please address what you said. "What I said is accurate. You only need four or five Colds on a team if most of your team is bad." So bad teams use 4-5 Colds? Yes or no. What times and how many deaths you think they are reaching with that setup ? Also, you said "the fastest 4* ITF teams only have two or three Cold Domination characters on them, with a bunch of procced out Ice Blast Blasters, not four or five Cold Domination characters. " So, tell me how fast they did it and how many deaths? Since you claim they are the fastest 4 star ITF. Why are you avoiding the question? The reason I suggested a Cold defender and made an honorable and worthy mention of elec affinity is that in every Task Force, which includes in that line up even the ITF 4 star and AEON relentless, those two are super good , reliable, tested , proven and always present in the best performance in hardest of PVE game content. Am I wrong for suggesting that? I don't think so.
-
So, teams are bad now if they have four or five Colds ? What is the fastest 4 Star team? What time did they reach? how many deaths? Because from what I know, and I run these a whole lot every week since they started, they include 4-5 Colds, one kinetics, 2 - 3 dmg dealers and some times even a poison is in the team. We do keep track and we do have screenshots or videos to corroborate.
-
This is simple to explain The OP mentioned ALL TFs. Are excluding the new Task Forces , are we including the new Advanced ITF, or four Star ITFs? Are we excluding AEON relentless ? If we are not excluding them, and I don't think we are, then, again, if I am to pick only one Defender to do all those Task Forces, all of them, then I will pick a Cold Defender because of all they bring in one toon as far as buffs and debuffs. Honorable mention goes to Electric Affinity. You saying that SOME people enjoy 4 star speed runs, but not everyone enjoys lore pets play the game. That shows you don't know what you are talking about. Inferring that the lore pets are the doing the work for you in 4 Star Speed runs is ridiculous. Have you been in any of the ITF 4 star speed runs?
-
You said you need 4 or 5 colds in the team if most of your team is bad. That's what you said Ok, here are the facts -- The best teams, as defined by fastest times with the least amount of deaths, to do 4 star ITF... well, they run 4-5 Colds. So that is contrary to what you are saying. It's not if most of your team is bad. Very good players are running -4-5 colds to do ITF 4 star at the fastest times with fewest deaths @Doomrider I was addressing my comments that way because he affirmed that if most of the team is bad , then you need Colds. Well, very good players are using that team make up to do the 4 stars in the most efficient way - meaning fastest times with fewer deaths.
-
Hard mode ITF is part of the all TFs The question is What Defender would you chose to run ALL TFs? All TFs include hard mode ITF and includes AEON as well I would not pick Rad over Cold to run ALL TFs since when hard mode ITF, especially for speed 4 star mode looking for few deaths, because cold will do much much much more for the team. Same thing for AEON , especially R
-
You talking from experience? You seen this first hand? You seen best runs? Let me tell you what experience has demonstrated The best teams have 5 colds, one Kinetics, two dmg dealers (scrapper and blaster) Or 4 Colds, one kin, two dmg, one poison Rad has no place in the best ITF 4 star teams What I mean by best teams for 4 star ITF -- The fastest times with the fewer number of deaths. ITF 4 star is part of the "ALL TFs" ITF has a classical and a new (advanced) formation AEON R is also a hard mode TF
-
I think the OP's question is what defender would you use to run all TFs in the game. To do ITF 4 star and AEON 4 Star The nomination has to go to Cold Defender. Cold now is meta for the new ITF 4 star and certain can fit in meta for AEON Relentless. What secondary ? Ice and Fire and PSI are the least resisted in the ITF 4 Star. Pairing with Banish Pantheon Lore pets, will certainly give the edge to Ice blast. Rad has no place in meta runs for 4 stars especially speed runs. Cold brings all to the table for the team. 4-5 of them in the team is super great. Very useful buffs, debuffs in one set. This can be applied to many other TFs as well.

Looking for opinions on secondary for Illusion Control Dominator

Where are you getting the corroborating material to put dark assault in mid of all 12 sets ? Do you have a chart showing all the pylon times for all 12 sets ? If you have test results showing all 12 and Dark assault is there in the mid area, I can easily buy what. you are saying. If you don't then I I can't I did some testing Pylon testing with Dominator USING ONLY THE ASSAULT/SECONDARY NO PRIMARY POWERS WERE USED Oh, and it is important to point out before you read the rest of the data below , that This was just with the secondary. No primary power used like the pets. The instant snipe is amazing here. Dark Assault+Ice Mastery (Test Server with snipe changes) Degenerative Core Flawless Musculature Core Paragon Ageless Core Epiphany (for endurance) Perma Domination Chain:Smite-Midnight Grasp-Gloom-Moon Beam (Gather Shadows-Sleet when up) Assualt Radial Embodiment (double dmg) 2:20 ~401.72dps 2:21 ~399.78dps Assault Core Embodiment (+dmg) 2:13 ~416.13dps 2:04 ~437.96dps The +dmg Dominator proc was in Midnight Grasp. Pure +dmg Hybrid slot did work a little better than the double hit Sleet did have both (target aoe) -res procs in it -

Very good pylon times Very good utility Also fits well thematically -
I was doing Acid Arrow reducing the resistance of a foe by 40% to debuffs. Since AVs have no resistances to resistance debuffs, I am applying minus 40% to any resists to debuff they may have. That's it.
-
I did check the chart again. I was reading the upper left instead of bottom right side. Excuse that The resistances of even AVs are 85% vs TO hit debuffs 59% to hit debuff from hurricane - 52.51 = 6.49% With Acid Arrow AVs is now only resistant to To hit debuffs by 45% 45% of 59 is 26.55 59 - 26.55 = 32.45% Hurricane is debuffing by 32.45% Hurricane is now debuffing the TO hit of a lvl 50 AV by 32.45% At least that's the math is saying. A level 54 AV is resisting 87% of the 500% regen debuff That means 435% of the regen debuff is being resisted So the debuff is only hitting for 65% regen debuff net strength That's without Acid Arrow.
-
I am settled down. No need for you to say any of that. If anything you come across as condescending when you talk like that, so stop it. Acid arrow is a power that exists no where among all the debuffing sets It lowers the resistances to debuffs, making debuffs stronger. I am not confused at all about regen debuffs. But one regen debuff of 500% vs a +4 AV is not going to make the AV manageable. What makes that AV manageable is the amount of dmg it is taking way way way more than the regen debuff which is being resisted by 87%. Again, 87% of the 500% regen debuff is being resisted, so the regen debuff is only 65%. Now, about hurricane to hit debuffs This is what you said -- "Hurricane is a 59% tohit debuff. (65.5% vs a -1 con) Vs a lvl 50 AV (which is -1 for most of us) it will debuff their tohit by 9.8% If a TA uses acid arrow it now becomes (again -1) 15.2%" AV at that con level have a 60% resistance to To hit Debuffs 60% of 59% (of hurricane) is 35.4% So the debuff is actually only 59 - 35.4 = 23.6% Acid Arrow lowers the resistance to debuffs by 40% If it lowers the resistance to TO HIT debuffs then They are only resisting the TO HIT debuff by 20% 20% of 59% = 11.8% 59% - 11.8% = 47.2% So now their to hit is being debuffed by 47.2% thanks to Acid Arrow.
-
At lvl 50 Acid arrow lowers your resistance to endurance debuffs by 40% Acid arrow lowers your resistance to recovery debuffs by 40% Acid arrow lowers your resistance to TO HIT DEBUFFS by 40% Again, there's no other power set in the game that does what Trick Arrow does via Acid Arrow. Trick Arrow is arguably the king debuffer of the game.
-
Regen debuffs are HIGHLY resisted by AVs, purple triangles and +4s. What you smoking ?? So your statement about regen debuffers neutering AV's single handily is a NO GO. Acid Arrow debuffs resists to debuffs by 40% at lvl 50. Acid Arrows increases the strength of debuffs NOW.... Combine all that with... Everything that ICE ARROW brings Another 67% debuff UNRESISTABLE ! Then another 20% dmg debuff that is UNRESISTABLE by anyone Then add 25% dmg debuff Poison Gas arrow and 25% dmg debuff UNRESISTABLE , also by Poison Gas Arrow
-
Trick Arrow is the only set in the game that provides a super strong debuff power that actually debuffs the resistances that ANY ENEMY might have vs any kind of debuffs There is no other set in the game that has that. It's king of debuffs in my book for that reason

1. A few notes on incarnates If you are electric/electric then go Agility T4. The endurance mod pays off very well, and you still get a very high recharge buff, but you also can't go wrong with Spiritual. If you are NOT electric/electric then I highly suggest Spiritual Core for the healing buff. 2. Incandescence Core for the nearly double healing amounts and the Team TP to rez all dead In one shot tactic. ______________________ If you are doing AEON, then switch your build to Mu Mastery because you want Charged Armor for the energy resists. You will lose out on Power Build. That shield is super good. If you don't want that then keep Soul for PB.
