Please make MM upgrade powers passive
kwsapphire replied to Col. Kernel's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Minor correction - Group Fly only affects people on your team. It doesn't even affect other teams on your league. So if the upgrade aura were implemented using a similar technique, at the very least, random new MMs just walking by wouldn't have their pets upgraded by someone else's aura. That said, an upgrade aura does seem an overly complicated solution, and I definitely don't need another constant drain in my endurance. -

I don't even know if that's possible to implement... but if that's how they did it, I'd hope for zero-end toggles. MMs already have enough endurance issues. 😉 -

No, the red side support slot is Masterminds (and Soldiers). Corruptor are considered DPS as far as role diversification is concerned. That's according to the devs. I call corruptor "support," but the HC devs clearly disagree. Despite that MM powers all cost more endurance and are less effective than other ATs with the same power sets. -

Dark Servant had to have been the deciding factor there. Except Rudra insists that this is possible with "any" primary and secondary. Which, given my personal experience, I find utterly impossible to believe. Whatever. As long as newbie MMs don't come into this thread thinking they can replicate an impossibility, I'm done. -

Great point! You've solved the whole suggestions forum. The Homecoming team can go ahead and shut this whole section down. No need for anyone to ever suggest anything again, since we can all take actions to mitigate whatever issues we happen to have with this game. BRILLIANT. -

I did some testing. I knew the outcome, but good science is based on good data. I took two different masterminds into +0x3 Arachnos missions. Summoned bots, turned on Walk, and watched. Level 19 Mastermind with 3 Battle Drones, 1 Protector Bot, and Maintenance Drone. Single Origin Enhancements. Result: All bots and I were dead by 2nd group. Level 50+3 (fighting at 50+1) Mastermind with all 6 bots plus Maintenance Drone. Single Origin Enhancements. Result: All bots and I were dead by 4th group. Level 50+3 (fighting at 50+1) Mastermind with all 6 bots plus Maintenance Drone. Same as above, but respecced with Sets. (Yes, I spent several hours creating and crafting a set build for this toon just so I could test this.) Result: All bots were dead by the 7th group, and I'd have died if I hadn't gotten fed up and flown away. I didn't even make it to the last room. Reminder that Bots have the most healing (amongst themselves) of any MM pet. So no, you can't Walk through a WHOLE mission without clicking a single power. You will, at the very least, have to turn off walk to resummon and upgrade pets between each group. Good thing, too, because if masterminds truly could summon pets once and then walk through a whole x3 mission, the Devs would be planning a hefty nerf. As for micromanaging my pets during Lambda ... it's not Marauder's nuke that kills them. It's ALL THE OTHER AOE, from beginning to end. As a Mastermind, I can do my own thing, stay back and whittle away at groups, and maybe survive.. but I certainly won't be helping seek out crates or containers. You know, the thing the league is supposed to be doing? I realized last night that Tin Mage and Apex are two more trials that I'll never bring MMs into again. Even after slotting full sets, I spent most of both trials resummoning and upgrading pets. It was obnoxious. Perhaps I shouldn't have spent so much effort into debunking a claim from someone with a reputation for bad takes, generally being wrong about everything, and complaining how much their toons suck and always die. But I'd hate to think a new player thought they must be doing Masterminds wrong if they couldn't live up to this unrealistic standard. As for Masterminds being removed from the game? Well, "Walking through missions" isn't the only thing that smells of cow plop. -

A lot of people seem to feel that way, and this very thread is a request to make them slightly less terrible, so.. yes? 😄 I still love them. I'm a glutton for punishment. -

Bald-faced lie. Unless you're only going into missions you've out-leveled so far that everything is gray. Or you have a whole team carrying you. As I said, the Upgrade powers can and will miss pets that haven't finished summoning. So yes, you can select another pet and upgrade it... and the newly not-quite-yet-summoned pet won't be upgraded. But I guess if you're "walking" through missions of gray enemies, it doesn't matter if some of your pets miss the upgrade, huh? -

Not if they haven't finished being summoned. You can click on the pet window all you want, you can't select them until they're "here." (Edit) And FWIW, it's totally possible for the Upgrade power to miss a pet that hasn't finished summoning. I just tested it again to be sure, and am happy to record and post to YouTube if anyone has doubts. -

Honestly? Sounds like you're a terrible Mastermind. My Pacifist/Soloists are more active than that. I'll make a note not to team with you, if you can't be bothered to even use your secondaries. -

That's exactly what I do though, make custom targeting macros for each pet on every MM. 🙂 The first six buttons in Tray 2 are pet select macros. Tray 1, for my pacifists. I'm not saying you should do this. It's the only way to select specific pets (without clicking in the pet window), though, I'm afraid. -

I wouldn't call it "boring" or "repetitive." More like "frustrating and useless." My pets die, I resummon, try to upgrade, more die, resummon, try to upgrade, more die. There's content that I just won't take MMs into anymore, because I might as well be petless given the impossibility of keeping my pets alive and upgraded. (Lookin at you, Lambda!) I'm not going to argue with anyone who thinks MMs have it good compared to other ATs. The fact that so many people outright refuse to play the archetype because of how annoying it is to keep resummoning and upgrading the pets speaks far louder to the truth of the matter. Not to even mention how all their secondary powers are more expensive and less effective than any other AT. I say this as someone with a lot of Masterminds. Including one that has already soloed to 50 without using any enemy-affecting powers (other than pets), and keeping her pets on Defensive at all times. I have two more Soloist/Pacifist MMs at 17 and 19. The usual reaction from people upon hearing this is absolute horror at the tedium. But the slow pace is the point in this case, they're my personally-imposed penance for any of my toons that spent time in Fire Farms. It is what it is. We can't always have what we want. I'll live. 😛 -

I figured this was the case, If it hasn't been done by now, the Devs either WONT or CANT. I'm curious to their thought process myself. If they simply can't (within a reasonable amount of labor), I get it. Spaghetti Code. If they merely "won't" - well, I'll keep loving MMs no matter how underpowered they are. 🙂 -

I wonder how many of those Masterminds were created only to Trick or Treat themselves to level 25. ^_^ I love Masterminds. It'd be my favorite AT if I could be a Storm/Storm MM, but since I can't, MM has to share the title of favorite with Corruptor. And Bots are my favorite pet, of course. Unless we get Storm or Elemental pets someday, then those will be my favorite. 😄

Well, that's not what you actually said, the first time. What you said was... Emphasis mine. You only just now added the word "reliably." You can't blame Jacke & I pointing out that we can indeed get hotkeys to work in Submenus when you said flatly that they could not.
-
This isn't the case, though. My "Extras" menu (popmenu.mnu, also linked above) has shortcuts in submenus and they work fine. All of them, as many as 11 options in a sub-submenu. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason for the Raids menu shortcuts not working all the way down. I moved the thumbtacks up one level and they still only work through Purple, White doesn't work. Moving them to the *very* top level (not in the Lab menu) greatly reduces my options for opening other menus, so I'll keep them as a subsection within the Labyrinth menu.

Suppress On-Screen VFX from Labyrinth of Fog?
kwsapphire replied to kwsapphire's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I used ++noparticles instead. This lets me toggle on and off with one macro. I already have seven full trays so economy is important. Perhaps I should move all my temp powers to my popmenu! The portals still work even if I can't see them, and thankfully the devs included colored rocks on the platforms so I can still see what color each portal is. I can leave particles off the whole time I'm in the Lab. -
Hilariously, putting the thumbtacks into their own sub-submenu gets everything down to Purple to work but not White. LOL.
-
The shortcuts are already unique at each sublevel. Unless you mean you can only use each key once per menu file period - this can't be the solution if only because my other menu (popmenu.mnu, or Extras) has the same key used as a shortcut for several submenus and works fine. The Pet Commands section uses A for Attack. The Travel section uses A for Assemble the Team. The Costume section uses A for my Armor outfit. The Pet Commands section uses M for disMiss. The Travel section uses M for Mission teleport. The Inspirations section uses M to make Mezz pezz. But for what it's worth, I removed all the keyboard shortcuts from all other submenus and that didn't resolve the issue.

Suppress On-Screen VFX from Labyrinth of Fog?
kwsapphire replied to kwsapphire's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
The NoParticles thing occurred to me this morning so I tried it. It does indeed disable the VFX! It also makes the portals disappear so that's unfortunate, but I'll make a macro to toggle particles on and off. That should resolve it for me. The Suppress FX When Close option didn't appear to do anything for it. Thanks for the thought! -
I realize this is a long shot, but would it be possible to enable an option, perhaps via Null the Gull, to turn off the on-screen VFX from Labyrinth of Fog? I'm referring to the fog effect that applies around the edges of your screen. I would be okay if this option would require ALL VFX to be disabled, including things like Mot, Weather, etc. I've been running Labyrinth of Fog content and the fog effect puts me in a really bad state. I can stand it for about a half hour, but past that I start getting VERY motion sick. By the time I get to an hour, it's so bad I can't even look at my screen; I have to stare at my keyboard and try not to pass out. after leading a Labyrinth league today, I had to take a migraine abortive and lie down for two hours. I still don't feel like I can safely log back into the game. It may be a couple more hours before I'm fully recovered. I'd really like to keep running and leading this content. Please let me disable this effect.
