    I missed this reply somehow. I can say if nothing else it helped me feel a bit more at ease going into these. I've now run exactly 4 LOL. They are still mostly chaos to me as speed runs seem to be the only things I see being recruited for (outside of your 4*'s, of course but we're not even going there ANYTIME soon). That said, one of the things I truly appreciate about this game going back to the live days is the community and the helpful nature of it, whether it's creating tutorial videos or welcoming and carrying along some rookie through new to them content. One day I may summon the courage to venture into hard mode. 😨

    I always forget to factor in the -tohit when it comes to building up defenses. Oh well a little extra buffer never hurt and it makes my OCD happy. I think you're right about Flight, CJ is so much quicker in and out of combat. Flight is great (and fun) for strictly ranged toons but if that were going to be the case TJ seems pointless.

     

    I like your build a lot. I started to look at it to see where you selected certain powers and if there was anything I should or could push later in the build and remembered how much things changed fairly recently in regards to power availability levels. I've only recently started going down the Defender path, always been a Corr lover at heart. I have a DP/Time Corr languishing in the early 20s that I'd like to get back to sometime.

    Your right about power boosted farsight/clarion combo its awesome and makes you pretty much unkillable at incarnate levels, build looks good but so did your original build. Just go with whatever one you enjoy playing the most, if things don't go the way you want switch over with a quick respec.  

    That's about all I know about them too. In the last build I did forego hover/fly for CJ/SJ so I may just stick with the 11 pts. I did have a thought to pull those two procs out and use one to 4 slot Unbreakable Guard swapping set placement between Tough and Dark Embrace for exemplaring purposes. The other slot went to Infiltration to mule a 5th LotG. I then swapped out the Armageddon slotting in Soul Drain for Sup. Avalanche 6 slotted (the 5th LotG was to make up for the loss of Rech bonus here.) This brings non-boosted defenses 45.2% / 44.6% / 39.6%  M/R/AoE. 

     

    I've never really paid too much attention to making builds for exemplaring but it seems like it may be nice to have one to roll with from time to time and Time just seems to make it so darn easy.

    Looks good. Just a few minor points but nothing that will change the build. I usually slot slowed response with some acc and rech pieces of the shield breaker set (mostly for the bonuses) but your right in that its not necessary.

    Farsight gets a cyto and a membrane over 2 cytos but i take tactics, i can see why you'd want 2 cyto's instead.

    The flight pool/stealth pool- i can see you having some serious endurance issues, you have evasive and fly turned off. In mids. In game you will probably leave them on because

    a) your so slow without them its laughable and the team will leave you in the dust

    b) you will turn them on and forget to turn them off

    c) if evasive is off you'll find yourself getting hit by every web nade (or other immob) going and wonder why you are suddenly glued to the floor (just the luck of the game, you turn off your immob res and suddenly get hit by every immob the game can throw at you)

    So you end up leaving fly and evasive and stealth running and.........you have 0 endurance.

    Chrono shift won't help with your endurance for more than a few seconds.

     

    I'd swap the dmg/rech or dmg/range (probably the dmg/range) from ice storm for the proc. There was some chat recently that pseudopet powers are now an ok'ish place for damage procs.

     

    I only see 3 points kb protection, not an issue if your flying you just get backflipped, prepare to get backflipped a lot- you want to be in melee for TJ to hit max targets with its debuff so you'll be subject to a lot of the kb going.

     

    Minor points, you may not even notice in game if your running around teamed up a lot and there's a few buffers going and the occasional ageless tossed your way. Stuff like this only becomes obvious when your soloing a lot.

    Thanks @Meknomancer. I was working on a reply to @Uun when you posted this but we were obviously having some similar thoughts. I went ahead and pulled the slots from Brawl to utilize elsewhere and cover some of what you brought up. A few thoughts/uncertainties 

     

    • I'm glad you mentioned the proc in Ice Storm. I always thought procs here were frowned upon but like many things I never really delved into it.
    • How much KB is enough or too much?
    • I enjoy Hover fighting (until we hit a cave) but I've never really been too attached to many powers so dropping Flight doesn't really bother me. Utilizing CJ for muling the uniques actually seems to work out well enough.
    • As I said before I've never been able to really follow through on the whole PPM class. Suffice to say my knowledge stops at the point of knowing there is math that comes into play as to how effective procs are in powers. I'm not sure those 2 procs in Time Stop amount to enough to warrant keeping them there vs utilizing those slots for Shield Breaker as you suggested or adding some Def/End to Weave and/or Stealth (or elsewhere)
    • With this iteration I've given up a bit of recharge and a few points of Melee Defense but it keeps Far Sight, Hasten and Chrono Skip perma'd and once Far Sight (and especially PB or Clarion Boosted Far Sight) comes into play I'm not sure it matters.

    You're far beyond me, I couldn't tell you what one Hami does over another off the top of my head. I did notice there were some anomalies in the way Mid's posted the build (the data chunk imports correctly however). As it stands, Farsight is three slotted with a LotG +Rech and two Cytos (not sure why it is only showing one Cyto). 

     

    You did get me thinking however. Originally I had Soul Drain slotted with 5 Armageddons and the Fury of the Gladiator chance for resistance debuff proc but was capped with the 10% recharge set bonus so I swapped it to 6 slots of Obliteration. Considering I had Brawl slotted as a mule this seems pointless so I potentially can see swapping back to the Armageddon/FotG slotting and freeing up those 4 slots in brawl. With those I can see any of the following options

    • Putting 2 in Time Stop for two procs
    • One in Chrono Shift for End Mod
    • A slot or two for BotZ Knockback  (not sure with Hover it's necessary)
    • A slot or two in Slowed response for Acc and or Rech (with any of the currently slotted Proc sets)
    • Slot for any of the under slotted toggles for End reduction and additional set bonuses
    • ???

    In any case I think I will be swapping power placement of Ice Storm and Stealth

    Farsight is a click, not a toggle. It has a 2 minute duration and a 4 minute recharge, so you want to slot it for recharge. I would add a few slots so you can max out the defense and have it perma. If you're going to slot HOs, you want Membranes, not Cytoskeletons. 

     

    Slowed Response requires accuracy. I would also add some recharge so you have it up more often. Shouldn't affect your proc chance since the base recharge is 90 seconds.

    Thanks for this. As I am seeing it, with Chrono Shift and Hasten (both perma'd as far as I can tell) Farsight is currently at 69.05 seconds or am I missing something?

     

    Assuming it is perma'd would the +to hit it grants not be enough for Slowed Response? It's currently showing 92.5% accuracy against +4's (granted I am not 100% confident in how this work in Mids this is just how I have been understanding it). That 92.5% is without Farsight being boosted by Power Boost (110.7%), Clarion (107.3%) or both (125.5%).

     

    Admittedly I have never been able to get into the number side of a lot of what is in the game so I may be way off base on this. 

  7. This build got pushed to the side for quite a while and I recently decided to finally get back to it and slot the character out. When I was working on it I leaned on (and borrowed) heavily from builds and info I found from @Bopper @Darkir and I'm sure several others. After having it sit and focusing on other builds I kind of lost track of what I was doing and thinking as well as some of the basics of the Time set as a whole. I think I was able to get back on track and after tweaking what I had originally settled on I came up with this version. Before I pull the trigger though I was hoping to get feedback on anything I may have overlooked or anything that may be over/under done (I'm looking at you accuracy/to-hit). Some of this leans into procs more than I'm used to and that is definitely one of the areas I haven't gone down the rabbit hole on (not for lack of trying, more of an abundance of squirrels and other distractions). Any and all feedback welcomed and appreciated.

  9. There were a number of Archetypes I never got around to playing on live, Blaster being one of them. I finally decided to give one a try and rolled a Fire/Time based on a very quick search and basically went with what I saw suggested on two occasions (they may have been the only two recommendation for that combo on the internet as I have not found much info beyond that). Anyway I'm sitting at 35 equally as unfamiliar with /Time as I am Blasters. I did find one build and swapped out a couple things for Flight but beyond that it's essentially as I found it. I guess I have two questions....

     

    1) How is the combo overall (/Time especially). Fire is what fire is on a Blaster

     

    and 

     

    2) Thoughts on the build below

     

    I've enjoyed the combo so far and the build in the grand scheme of things is relatively cheap so I'm not too concerned with some min/max letdown. There just seems to be quite a few combos MUCH more popular so I am kind of rethinking building this one out.     Here's a sample Dark/Psi Dominator proc build. I struggled with the Accuracy a little, I may have a bug somewhere in my set up that's reporting much higher ToHIt than I think I have. But my version of the tool is showing everything with about 95% chance to hit enemies with base 38% chance for a +4, so IDK. 🙂

     

    You could probably play a lot with the specific procs I picked for each power. This build assumes you'll be using Dark Grasp as your way to proc the Dominator +Damage ATO. I'd put that in Psychic Shockwave, but for whatever strange reason the proc can't go there (I think this is a bug since that proc does go in other Dominator attacks in their secondary sets that have enhanceable mezz).

     

     

    NOTE: Just realized the recharge on this guy is 83%, which is almost permadom (you'd probably get a few cycles in before missing a pass). You could edit the build to pick up that little extra bit of Recharge, or you could just a base buff. A lot of people don't like fiddling with base buffs, but they can help you maintain a much proccier build if you're willing to just visit the base once an hour or so to renew it. Zone-8888 and many other public warp bases have a table you can use quickly.

     

     

     

    Sorry to revive this. I've been following some of your posts @oedipus_tex and stopped short of slotting out the Mind/Psi Dom I had been working on to level and Dark/Psi and see which I preferred before going all in. I was looking at the build you submitted and was thinking of using it as a guide. I've never really done such a proc heavy build and had some concerns about the accuracy. Did you ever get that ironed out? I'm guessing the issue you referred to above with Mid's seeming to be higher in regards of your to-hit is related to the Chance for build up proc being toggled in the Umbra Beast? Those procs get me more times than I can count at this point. Toggling that off seems to pull most attacks down to the 60-80 range.  How's it fairing in the "real world". I have a toon that I seem to constantly whiff on and nothing drives me more crazy.

  11. I hate to raise this thread from the dead again but seeing as how I used @Sovera's build almost entirely, I hated to start a new thread looking for feedback. Just curious about the changes made in the following and if there is anything that I may not have taken into account. I basically pulled some slots from Genetic Contamination to put some procs into DNA Siphon instead, including the Theft of Essence +End Proc which also got added into Parasitic Aura which I hope would make up for changing the +End Performance Shifter in Inexhaustible to the Numina Heal for the regen set bonus and general bump to HP and Regen.  These changes are what I am most curious about though I would be interested in hearing thoughts on maybe replacing the ToD damage proc in Follow Up with the Gaussian's Chance for Build Up. Originally this was in Tactics but it would seem to be more controllable as to when it procs by having it in a click attack.

     

    Many, many thanks to @Sovera and all the other build wizards out there who give their time so folks like me don't spend weeks only to come up with something sub-par.
