Now most people probably don't care about enhancements at low level and will say to just buy IOs but never getting drops take away some of the fun. It's also nice to get that little boost while leveling up. Most of the time I just spend the first 20 levels with no enhancements till I can start buying attuned.
Just so I can understand - is this because you want things to be more challenging?
You don't have the influence?
You're leveling up too fast to make the expense worth it?
You're always teamed, so you're getting various buffs to help you along the way?
I thought about playing that way..but when I miss several times in a row, it's quite maddening, so I'm in the habit of slotting a kismet Accuracy, and accuracy SOs in all my attacks as soon as I possibly can - which is level 7. Life is too short to miss. Wait...I mean, when you miss, life is shorter.
Just trying to understand.
Fun fact, while SOs seem pricy, below level 25, they're cheaper and better than common IOs, as far as the % boost. I like to use attuned sets, but I also tend to put this off until the 20's because the SO boost is so much better until level 25-30.

I will have to try and teleport a foe from the street to the top of a building - and then tp him to the air beside the building and see how much dps it takes. and then finish him off and see if the xp is scaled down. I think it would be..but I want to confirm this. If not, I may have a new challenge...

How about a melee alt that doesn't take any resistance, defense, or healing powers?
The thing is...there are challenges, where a character has a fair chance. And then there's something like this suggestion...lol, I'll pass.

In the past I suggested that team leads get extra rewards for the hassle. Unfortunately, nothing came of it. Add to that, even if it were implemented, I can imagine if a team lead got disconnected, logged back in and was no longer the team lead, they'd probably not get credit, and that might cause some issue.

Look, I get it. This is probably something that bugs me WAY more than anyone else. But just like we have designated forums for different topics, and will move things posted in an incorrect forum to a different one immediately rather than just see if it dies out on its own, I feel like we need to work together as a community to keep our chat channels mostly on topic. If the appropriate place for a general conversation is NOT general, we need to fix general.
Well, seeing your sample, that's actually the kind of drivel I used to see in General chat, which is why I left it. None of that is amusing to me, and I'm sorry I wasn't on to back you up in a fashion.
Okie, you're a good sort, and you're the kind of chap that makes the game better, even if you do roleplay. Some folks like it, and that's perfectly okay with me; I just lack the imagination. (and the desire, if I'm being honest.) But, as I said, you're one of those folks that makes the game better, so I'll do what I can, when I'm on, and ask those fools to keep it to a minimum, for all the good that might do.-

If you, @KaizenSoze (or someone), could make a popmenu with nested menus with each TF, that would be truly awesome!
Have each TF listed in the order they are in LFG; click on a TF and get the list of missions, click the mission to get one or several hints that get placed in team chat.
While I agree with Ukase and others that merely having the tools will not mean people will know how and when to use them, or even want to use them. But I do think it will help some. I would go further to suggest that, once the popmenu is created, you recruit a few people that volunteer to learn, follow you on the TFs to see how and when you use the instructions, and then let those folks recruit their own volunteers.
For convincing Ukase, I offer the following:
Oh, most vile perfidious flea! How could you sully the amazing image of Heather Locklear for your own advantage!
Oh wait...she sullied herself in selling out for a commercial. Makes me wonder if the stars of the 70's, 80's and 90's would have been stars in this new era of the internet and the incredible competition for our attention. But that's a different topic.
Below are my pop-menu files for the Master of Underground. The reason there are two is because even though my screen is fairly large, I tend to provide a LOT of detail about the various pitfalls and challenges.
I have never encountered any other league leader that actually explains what's going on in the final room against the Avatar of Hamidon. They don't mention the Discordant Spores, which is a PBAoE mag 20 confuse with a 600 foot radius. It doesn't even require line of sight. It's spammed every 20 seconds, but only lasts for 10 seconds, so you are literally confused half the time, unless you mitigate this with clarion, a collection of tactics from leadership pool, or tier 3 break frees.
I would venture most folks are so accustomed to having one or two players spam a clarion, they aren't even aware there is a confuse effect. And that's fine - but when you're going for a master run in underground, it can take some time, if your league wants to be conservative, and would rather not use the spaceballs method to take out the bombs, and wants to snipe all of them. (madness, I say, but some folks would rather be conservative)
A leader may as well share what they know.
So, if someone wants to use these in this effort - go ahead.
Additionally, I stole this Lambda pop-menu from somewhere in the forums. Not sure if it's Oklahoman or Hyperstrike's.
Oh, there's an MSR one, that I'm pretty sure comes from Hyperstrike.Master_of_Underground1.mnu Master_of_Underground2.mnu Master_of_Lambda.mnu Mothership_Raid.mnu

Ah yes, because gods forbid ya use the general chat channel for handling, you know, general chat type conversations. We have all these different channels for different reasons. Having regular conversations in LFG, Help, etc. is considered bad form, even on Everlasting, as it clogs up those channels for what their intended use is.
I don't disagree with you, but general chat is clearly misnamed, and should be called "Adults only" chat. Some of the discussions that I used to see in there were gross.
I've been in the military. There was a time when profanity was just another adjective used to get your point across. But, those days are over. I have a vocabulary large enough to come up with alternative words to "pig-fucker" and the like. I have a profanity filter on. Yet, I see some of these idiots in general either deliberately or ignorantly misspell these words, and they get by my filter. And they're not angry at anyone. They're just conversing. And sometimes, (at least during the Trump/Clinton race) some of them got political. And I would have loved to have expressed my opinions clearly and specifically, but our community doesn't give a crap, and folks that disagree tend to have thin skin and take things personally, when it's just the specific cases I might take issue with. (Example: Should we (or not) do such and such)
So, I avoid General chat. Even if I didn't, toggling from one chat to the next is annoying, and I will not do it. I will not be told what to do by any other player, either. I am an adult. I will do my best to behave that way. But respect doesn't just flow to you freely. I will stop using the "wrong" channel for banal commentary - but only if reminded respectfully. If you TELL me to, I will get right back in your face, figuratively. That's just my way. I will not be pushed around by anyone. If anything I say is that bad, just report me without a word. The GMs will do what they deem appropriate. And I'm sure that I will stop myself before anyone has to stop me - unless you're being extremely belligerent to me or someone else. Even then I'm sure I'd take that to tells, rather than bring it to a public channel.
For the purpose of trying to keep the peace, I will try to avoid the really stupid comments. But if I think they're brief and funny, I'm going to share.-

There, I said it. Let the hate flow.
Look, I've played on other servers and I know their LFG channels aren't nearly as busy as ours on Excelsior. Those servers can tolerate that extremely witty reply you absolutely have to make in response to someone else's typo in an LFG post. In fact, it likely will be welcomed as the first time two messages were posted back-to-back to LFG in, what, days?
On Excelsior, though, we have numerous posts to LFG per minute, pretty much around the clock as far as I can tell. We are fortunate to have a lot of people trying to form groups. Maybe you don't realize how frustrating it is, then, when a conversation breaks out in LFG and our ad scrolls off the screen immediately.
No, I don't "own" any aspect of this game. But asking you to move a conversation to GENERAL or HELP is not some great offense worthy of a nasty /tell.
Anyway, that's the burr in my saddle this morning. How are you?
Okay, so you got your rant in. No hate from me.
But - this is a community. There's a number of us that find the General chat a little ...well, unsavory, for various reasons. If someone cares to know, I can get into the specifics of why I don't use it in a DM. The community wants to crack a joke because someone typing isn't typing very well, so what? It hurts nothing. In fact, I welcome some of those stupid jokes. It's not like you weren't going to put out your recruiting message in another 10-20 seconds anyway, so what's the harm? You're using a macro, so it's not like you have to do anything other than mash a macro button. (or find it in your pop-menu)
Now I can understand the frustration when someone else replies to the bad jokester, and then someone else chimes in. If it's not funny, well, I can overlook it. It's not like they go on and on. Generally someone gets on their high horse and tells them to put a sock in it. Usually most will stop chatting at that point, unless it's suggested in an aggressive manner, some folks will rebel and tell them to kick rocks. Business as usual.
I think it's a good problem to have. It shows life. I'd be more concerned if we didn't have that kind of problem from time to time.

I don't think the content was created with the intent that every player would play it all the time. So close to 50% of the players in this poll (which is pointless given the number of alt accounts, as has been pointed out in other polls) participate in hard mode content at least sometimes, that's actually a pretty huge win considering there is only ONE SF that is considered hard mode content right now. Also, as has been stated before by many people, nothing is going to pull certain players off of certain content. They have outright stated that. So, I'd say the hard-mode content additions have been at least mildly successful. Keep in mind, the only hard mode content we have right now is ASF... you can only play that one SF so many times before you want to do something else. I think as they add more hard mode content, especially to SF/TF that aren't huge time sinks, you will see the participation in them grow.
I know that not everyone likes it (for various reasons), people play the content they like and that is fine. I find it fun and would like to see more stuff added. So, the question of which SF/TF we would like to see added felt valid to me. But, if YOUR question is whether or not I want to see more hard mode content, I think that is obvious by my answer to the first question. That's fair. But like others, my vote is on more arcs. Red side, blue side, gold side, every level range.

The topic was on Hard Mode Content. The question is on topic.
I just think there are other questions to ask. Granted, I can ask them myself. So fair point. But I don't need you to point it out. The poll makes it clear that the Hard mode stuff is hit or miss for 85% of the player base that participated in the poll.
For 50% it's a complete miss. A complete miss by half the players! Again, there are better questions to ask. My answer is don't spend time on making a level 50 tf a hard mode tf, because only 12% (as of this writing) would run it routinely. About 35% are maybe, maybe not. And over 50% are a clear "No".
So, why ask the question as "which level 50 tf/sf", but instead, "Do you want to see more level 50 tf/sf adapted for hard mode?"
Maybe better put, survey first. Then ask the question based on survey results. -

What level 50 TF/SF would people, in theory, like to see get the Hard Mode treatment next?
I think this is the wrong question.
What I'd like to see are all zones with mobs like event mobs - unleveled, or the same level as your character. I'd like to see posi 1, if led by a 50, get played at level 50 against level 50 characters.
But, if I'm to answer your question, for me, the easiest, most boring TF at level 50 are the shard tfs. Rularuu at level 54 aren't always a cake walk, but because the tfs have so many missions, most players would rather watch Marie Osmond singing "Paper Roses" on repeat than play a shard tf at 54. I'm not sure if the TF just needs to be revamped (shortened) so folks would run it at 54, or if a hard mode version should be implemented.
Miss Lib and LRSF, while simple when sped with a team of competent players, is quite nerve-wracking on certain pugs. I think if you look at the poll, a hard mode version of any TF only really serves about 15% of the player base, and another 35% "sometimes". I just am not sure if that's the best use of time, all this hard mode stuff. I could certainly be wrong.

You don't need super pimped out builds for the higher level difficulty.
At the risk of being labeled as only slightly better than a mediocre player, YOU may not need a "Super pimped out build" for the higher level difficulty, but I tend to think I do. If I don't see a minimum of 40% defense in several categories on my blasters, I get quite antsy and nervous in routine play, let alone the harder stuff. I realize that may be just me, but I loathe the taste of defeat. I can't think of any worse experience in this game than seeing my character slump to the ground. It's almost physically painful for me to see it. This, and my aversion to turning toggles on are what lead me to slot for as much layered defense and resistance as I can without giving up too much dps.
So, yeah, you NEED the best build you can afford for the hard mode stuff, unless you really have a fantastic team that you trust with timely heals/buffs/debuffs and aggro management.-

Maybe, I should make a teaming 101 tutorial video guide.
I like the idea. But, the biggest issue will be that only a fraction of the players visit the forums. You can lead them here with a URL in the help chat, but will they actually take the time? I think most folks won't. It's just easier for many folks to wait for someone else to do it.
I still think you should do it.
But here's what I would consider the dilemma:
You have a new team lead, and perhaps you've taught him via video how to make a pop menu, how to edit it, if needed. And, let's say the player actually places the pop menu in the right directory and shuts down the game, reloads it, and has it at the ready.
Will they know when to give the instruction? Some will pick up on it, I'd hope, but others might not.
I know the underground trial as well as anyone, except those who know how to pigg dive, and I still have to scroll through my pop menu to be sure I'm giving the right instruction at the right time.
In other words, yes, better for them to have the tools, but I just hope they'll know when to use them. But I don't think it would hurt to have something like that available. -

Mission: Second to last of the arc; Rescue the Kellermans before Giacomo enters their minds
In this mission, I'd already rescued Ken, led him out. The mission objective changed to rescue Kimberly.
When I defeated the mobs, and began to lead her out, I noticed the objective changed to lead Ken out. Ken is already out, I'm leading Kimberly.
Certainly not a big deal, just a minor thing, but if you guys can find it in the code, should be an easy fix. (but I really wouldn't know) -

Perhaps "why not?" is a better question. With a better answer.

"Hey Captain Superpants, to move this story arc along, you need to go beat-up 50 coconut smugglers!"
And no matter how many times you click on your contact he refuses to tell you WHERE you can find coconut smugglers, so you can dirt nap 50 of them. So you spend like an hour wandering around the zone you're in thinking "My good buddy Contact-Man wouldn't send me all the way to another (possibly more dangerous) zone to find 50 of these guys? My contact isn't some sort of jerk!" Oh, you naive simple-minded hero/villain.
Hey, maybe you're an idiot savant and you remember exactly where every faction level of them will spawn in the entire city of Paragon, Praetoria and Rogue Isles. Or you've never had to even THINK about where a particular faction is. Your toon is so awesome enemies just flock to you just looking for autographs.
But if neither of those things work, you can check out this handy-dandy cross reference list that tells you where you are most likely to be able to find these enemies BY LEVEL! Yes! They are also organized by the zone level, so you can easily figure out, not only which zones they appear in, but also the range of levels in that zone. Along with using Vidiot maps, your contact will never give you the run-around again.
Never more will your HELP channel pleas of "Where Can I kill a bunch of <insert faction name here>?" be retorted with "Did you try looking in your mom's room?" or "Try looking on Paragon Wiki. You'll find them there, noob!"
Wow, I should get some INF for this. Or let me know how I could have made it better.

There's a tab for each player alignment Hero/Villain/Praetorean.
So, I am one of those people who generally know where to find the mobs I'm looking for. But occasionally, I run across a request in help chat where a player doesn't want to ask each time they're looking. This drive file came in handy to resolve that player's situation, so props to you for taking the time to type it all out!

Both have only had the one defeat - except when I deliberately went to Monster Island to kill them purposefully for the High Pain Threshold badge. Pay off 200K debt. The only way to get it is to be defeated, so I don't count those.

I've got some crazy ones for you.
I've also successfully completed the Hardcore Rogue-like (or Ironman) perma-death. Did it on a Beam/Devices Blaster. Basically no dying until T4 alpha has been slotted. Also, mandatory notoriety are +1 from level 20-29, +2 from 30-39, +3 from 40-49, and +4 from 50 until completion. Teaming/TFs are allowed as long as it's same level or lower, but I've found PUGs or teams in general to be very risky. Unfortunately, as soon as I slotted the T4, I attempted the Lone Wolf badge (Dream Doctor's last mission solo) and i died before I got a screenshot of the proof of no death. (I tried it again on a duplicate toon and died at 49 haha). Strictly no sitting in AE farms (running AE content is fine, though I didn't), no P2W (especially XP Boost), disabling XP is fine. No IOs or Inf other than what you earn. AH depends on how anal you want to be, although you're not allowed to purchase recipes or IOs. You're allowed to convert what you've crafted--which is where ALL of your merits go.
The other challenges aren't as strict with the rules.
There was another one that started in the forums, but didn't really come together in-game. The something or the other Diner Challenge (I'll try to look for the link later). The scenario is you're all in a diner minding your own beeswax when you're all hit with a mad science ray and boom you're a hero. The rules are simple: Go find an online dice roller. Set up and roll for AT, then primary, then secondary. You're free to choose your pool powers and epics as you see fit. Costume, you have to click Randomise and then just minor fine-tuning. I rolled an Elec/Fire Stalker. Haven't played him yet.I've done the Hardcore Rogue challenge, as you describe it. The only difference was the +1 started at level 10, +2 at 20, +3 at 30, +4 at 40. I had a lot of failure before I finally got a fire/energy blaster (hooray for knockback!) and a dark/dark defender through it. The DD was painfully slow in the higher levels, the npcs missed a lot, but my dps was a bit underwhelming, took me a long time to get through the bosses I ran across.
I like this Diner option...Thanks!

There seems to me to be a lot of variables at play for hard mode participation and success.
First - the time commitment. I know with someone like Mez that it's not likely going to take as long as it otherwise might with someone else at the star - like me. I like things fast, but I'm a bit retarded in my play ability, because I refuse to use the mouse for movement, nor will I use WASD, because ...reasons that make sense to me only, I think.
I've only done the Hard Mode ITF twice. Once was successful, the second time wasn't. (tho on the test server, you really can't fail because you can auto-complete.)
Thing is, while it is challenging, most people will not do this because it's too long, even if you know what you're doing. I was coached along the way by Stitch and other TFJers, (task force junkies, a public chat channel) and we made pretty good time, all things considered. Even at 45 minutes with 7 other very competent players, that stretches my interest to just about the cap. I don't like sitting down for that long at one setting. I prefer a smaller block of time, and I know I'm not alone with that thinking. The second run was with the Cosmic Council SG, which is basically a PUG, because they take anyone as a member, but the use of discord eliminates a lot of the "ignorance" factor, because the lead is explaining things to folks as we go through. It was more casual, run more to explain things and let folks explore the TF, not really worried about the end result. Still, two hours, over 100 defeats...both attempts were on the max difficulty. Further, on Test, you can tell everyone to slot for the radial barrier. I know on Excelsior, only my badge characters likely have enough materials to do that, as most go Barrier Core, if they go Barrier.
With a PUG? I'll never run this on a pug (unless I have visual proof that it's Kathy Ireland or Heather Locklear that's asking) because I don't want to take two hours to do anything in this game. I might do it for a Transcendent merit, but probably not even then. The content isn't fun enough to suffer through repetitive team wipes, in my opinion.
Second, player competence. Most of my characters can handle most things. But in these hard mode situations, when the tank goes down, my blaster will usually go down fairly soon after. Having to retoggle is so annoying that just getting defeated sucks the fun right out for me. And if it's one of those situations where a few players get clobbered, and hosp it, leaving the rest to try and handle what the 8 of us were struggling with...it's just not a good time. Granted, figuring out how to prevent those things from happening is a fun part of the game - but when you've got it figured out, but some of your teammates don't, and the lead has explained it, but they don't grasp it, or simply lack the finger speed on the keyboard...what would have otherwise been successful can turn into failure. It only takes a couple of weaker teammates to ruin the experience, despite their best efforts. And everyone is supposed to just be cheery and say, "well, we tried. That's all we can ask." This is what giving everyone a trophy gets you. Instead of competence, it's about participation.Third, Team composition. When you try to tackle both robots, the game doesn't really let you split them apart for very long, if you can get them separated at all. So, having two methods of aggro management is fairly important. A high DPS, with high buff/debuff might be able to get away with one, but it's going to take some special folks to see that through, in my opinion. I saw this kind of thing after Aeon was introduced. You'd have all the badgers come out, and it would be something crazy like 5 tanks, a controller, a blaster and a corruptor. Not the ideal team comp. So, there's usually 2-3 folks willing to switch, but when it's potentially a 2 hour commitment, fewer folks are going to be willing to switch. Why the people wanted all the ATs to matter in content, I'll never know. Requiring a preferred team composition for success is just a hassle, slows things down.
Fortunately, it's only for the few challenging missions in the game. I will do the new content for the badges, but after that...probably never again. I mean, why? The rewards are meaningless. My character could be dressed like one of the default phantom army, once you start playing your character, it's not like you can see any costumes. But I'm very sure I'm in the minority in that regard. Some of you would rather put on a costume than get xp. And that's probably for the best. It takes all kinds of people to keep a world running.

All that for +5 health and a badge...
If it is true that the only thing you were after is the +5 health and a badge...well, no getting around it if you want all the badges. But if it's really just the +5 health - go for Invader on Red side. Then, you'll have what you seek in a lot less time.
You'll still be repeating the same content a zillion times, but it's much faster.
(and for those that don't know - you can get Invader easily by unlocking Schweinzer in Port Oakes. )
I typically unlock him by doing the SSA out of Bricks, using the contact Dakota Berg. The third mission will allow you to get the Bloody Hands badge if you run it at 0/8. If memory serves, you can probably get away with 0/3 and be okay. I run it at 0/8 just to be sure, and it's always awarding well before I'm done with that third mission.
Once unlocked, you can get all 9 mayhem explorations easily and quickly. If you have multiple accounts, it might be worth your trouble to multi-box it, and unlock it for a character on each account, so your upcoming alts don't have to worry about unlocking it, and can just load in an alt with it unlocked, and invite your new alt - and you can get invader at level 1, if you like. I recommend waiting until you have a travel power, though.-

It wouldn't just auto-hit unless it's already an auto-hit power. The way I understand it is that the main difference is that it now looks at the highest dmg type of the enemy instead of your highest defense. Here's an example with the type def:
I am 30% smashing def and 10% fire def. The incoming attack does 20 smashing damage and 80 fire damage. In the current system it would check against the highest def I got, smashing (so the hit-check will be against 30% def). However, in the new update it would check against the highest damage of the attack, fire (so the hit-check would be against 10% def).
Even if your defense is 0% it still wouldn't auto hit as enemies always have a chance to miss an attack just like we do when we technically have a 100% hit-chance.
So, if my ranged is 22%, and the attack is ranged, fire, despite my having 58% fire defense, the game is using the 22% instead of the fire value of 58%. (in some cases, depending on the attack from the npc)
Interesting...so I can probably drop some of the fire, and pick up the ranged...somehow. Or, boost the regen.

I guess I take my knowledge of the AH and such for granted. I start all my characters with zip. They all end up with a billion, just playing the game, crafting, converting drops, with some ...investments along the way.
I keep trying to share what I know, but often folks can't be bothered.
