Another player asked in game if there was a way to choose a random costume slot. I helped them out and I decided to post it here if anyone else wants the same. My approach simulates randomness. Create a folder like C:\Games\Homecoming\Binds\ or whatever you like. Create 10 text files in the Binds folder like Costume1.txt through Costume10.txt In the Costume1.txt text file type 2 lines: alt+e cce 0 ccspin e bind_load_file_silent C:\Games\Homecoming\Binds\Costume2.txt In the Costume2.txt text file add 1 to the costume slot number and the Costume#.txt number like this: alt+e cce 1 ccfireworks e bind_load_file_silent C:\Games\Homecoming\Binds\Costume3.txt Repeat steps 4 for each Costume#.txt file until you get to Costume10.txt. In Costume10.txt type: alt+e cce 9 ccbackflip e bind_load_file_silent C:\Games\Homecoming\Binds\Costume1.txt Then in the game chat window you type: /bind_load_file C:\Games\Homecoming\Binds\Costume1.txt Now you're all set. Just press the 'e' key really fast a random number of times, so you don't know which costume slot is loaded and then you press 'alt+e" to change into that costume. When you press 'e' 10 times it loops back to your first text file to make an infinite loop. You can choose any keys you want, just substitute 'alt+e' and 'e' in the text files for whatever you want. You can use as many text files as you want. You could make 100 text files and repeat the cce #'s in a random order if you want to make it seem more 'random'. You can use 'cc #' instead of 'cce # ccemote' if you want to change costumes without a costume change emote. If you just want keybinds to cycle through your costumes you can change 'bind_load_file_silent' to 'bind_load_file' and you will see a message in the chat window telling you which text file is loaded (if you have 'System' messages added to the chat tab). And make your text file names descriptive like 'dark.txt', 'retro.txt', 'flame.txt', etc. All the costume change emotes are listed on the Homecoming Wiki here. Hopefully there are other people out there that will find this useful. Happy hunting all.

When I post a bug report here, someone replies "this bug has been around for years". I don't care. I just got forcibly disconnected again logging into my base today. I wouldn't call 3 times in one month a "rare" bug.

Bug Report: This just started happening to me yesterday (June 7th). It's happened 3 times on more than one character. All of a sudden I can't use my keyboard to activate my powers, except for self target powers like travel powers. For example I can still press Alt+1 to toggle my flight power on and off, but when I press 1 through 0 keys for my offensive attacks nothing happens. When I am in a team I get a message in the chat window that says "cannot target self". Logging out and back in fixes it, but then it just happens again. The work around is I have to mouse click all my power tray powers. I am using a Desktop PC with Windows 10 with the latest updates. .Net Framework v4.8 installed. Keyboard is a month old, but it's cheap. Logitech Wireless K540. I have Keymapping options set to Classic and device controllers set to NONE. I don't have any gamepad or any other controllers connected. I can't think of any other information that might help. I haven't made any changes to CoH or my computer, no new software installed reacently and suddenly this started happening 3 times in one day. Thank you.

Bug Report: Twice in the last week I've been dropped from the game and I get a pop-up window that says something like "You have been forcibly disconnected from the game. MapShuttingDown." The last time was 5 minutes ago, 5am UTC. I was playing on Excelsior server in Crey's Folley and I clicked on the Base Portal. The load screen loaded about 10% and froze. Then I Alt+Tab'd to find the pop-up message. Hope this helps.

I just posted about this last month, after I did a quick search of the forums and couldn't find any posts about this topic. My feeling is the method used by thunderspy server is basically a hack of the costume system. That's why I love the Homecomming team. My impression is the Homecomming team are professional developers who build on CoH with proper planning and sound design. Modding a game with one hack on top of the next is the quickest way to break a game and the fastest route to the death of it. I AM NOT SAYING THUNDERSPY ARE AMATEURS OR HACKS. They do what works for them and more power to them. The Homecomming team probably has their hands full with their next plans for the game. Hopefully down the road MM pet customization will be added in a way that makes sense. My advice is to be patient. I'd rather not have MM pet costumes at all than some hack of the existing costume system.

I saw this video about customizing mastermind pet costumes. I think this is a feature for the thunderspy.net private server. Would it be possible to add something like this to Homecoming? Just a thought, not a priority. I am so grateful to all the Homecoming souls for all their hard work and totally happy with the game as is. Thank you. https://youtu.be/jGHTAhW9xcM?si=weIbZ0ThCYqHp42D

Photobombed Another Players Mission Unteamed
CapedCanuck replied to CapedCanuck's topic in Bug Reports
I played the original City of Heroes for eight years back in 2000 and never saw this before. Posted a report in case someone wants to know. -
Excelsior server about 11:00pm UTC. I was soloing Steven Sheridan's story arc "The Organ Grinder" with my hero Super Fred. When I entered the mission door in Crey's Folly, I found myself in another players mission. We both entered our missions at the same time because the first thing I saw was the other player fly down the tunnel in front of me. I don't think they even knew I was there. I think the other player was also soloing. The Crey's Folly screenshot shows the coordinates of the mission door I entered. I took a screenshot and exited the mission. When I re-entered the mission I was on the right map by myself.
