  1. I go by IO and level range, some I'd vendor outright, some I'd save to craft and convert, after a while it's just second nature. I think some people have this default aversion to AH because the UI looks clunky and there seems to be so much info to take in at once, but whenever I try to introduce a new player in game to the AH, I've always told them to start out slow and small, just try one or two craft/sell to get a feel of it. I know it works because I've had some of those new players sending tells about how much they just made from selling that one IO. It's a nice feeling because you know they won't be worrying about affording enhancements anymore.
  2. I dunno about shenanigans or time consuming, I just craft some stuff, run a mission or two while they sell, alt tab to youtube, and alt tab back to fill up the AH slots. 1.09 bil inf on hand plus 2 ATO/ 2 winter sets in 3 days from AH, alt is only lvl28 from just soloing. SO drops are vendor trash, low level generic IOs are cheap and don't degrade, for fresh accounts, buying SOs and maintaining them is a trap. You'd need experience and some luck to recognize what cheap recipes to buy, what IOs to sell, and when to buy converters in bulk, but even on my first character, it took about 3 weeks of solo play and AH to hit 1 bil inf with a full IO build. I'm faster now because I can seed my alt with starting fund to buy recipes, and know what to craft for quicker sales/better profits, but AH is still the cheapest and most effective way to generate inf, especially for a fresh account without extra help. Not to say your effort at grinding is wasted, but if inf is your sole concern, why double the effort for half the return? There are literal step-by-step guides on using the AH, with specific instructions on what to buy, what to craft, how to convert, and when/how to sell. And you decide on how much time you invest on it. No one is stopping you from only crafting and selling 10 IOs per day, and even that would probably get you ready for your dream build quicker than grinding missions.
  3. Lvl10 alt, currently purchased 2 sets of ATOs, a couple winter pieces, and holding 206mil inf on hand, yeah the guide works. Need experience to identify the better selling IOs, and ride the waves when prices spike up, but even if you get a string of bad rerolls, you'll still come out ahead overall. I saved a batch of sleep heal proc IOs when the news of the page 7 power sets came out, made a tidy sum selling those IOs at around 2mil each instead of 200-600k pre-Page 7. That proc IO price has "normalized' since the initial rush, but like I said, you sell enough and you'll recognize opportunities. There are more lucrative/stable AH methods to generate inf, but this one is particularly newbie friendly, and anyone at any point of the game can follow the guide, even a fresh lvl1 can start working on merits to generate the nest fund for the AH run - I did. It'll just delay your leveling process because you spend time doing AH instead of missions, but I like being able to purchase whatever I want and save a stash of purples for lvl50. I don't farm and mostly solo grind, so it's nice to have some shinies to look forward to as I go through the game. --edit-- Up to 754 mil inf on hand, and 106 IOs on AH for sale, I'd be lvl50 if I joined farms, but as it is the alt is lvl20 and can proceed to play without a care. I still don't have any farming alts, and haven't joined a farm session, the guide works.
  4. Play the AH, there’s a step by step guide on the forum which you can follow. It works. I’ve been trying to lure others into the AH whenever someone asks in /help and/or /general on how to generate inf. I know it works because I’ve had a couple new players reporting back on their first sell on AH. The initial learning will be worth it, and you can adjust your pace/output as you see fit. The best part about using the AH is that it doesn’t have any build or level requirement. My latest alt broke the 1bil barrier at lvl38, after getting both blaster ATO and 4 winter sets. The market is booming right now because everyone wants some IOs but not everyone is crafting.
  5. My Crab Spider will appreciate the customization and animation changes/improvements very much! Time Bomb was an auto skip even back on Live, it was thematic but highly impractical for its function and potency, I can see the new replacement being used with T9 in an one-two punch fashion, which will definitely alleviate one of the criticisms that /device is light on damage compared to other sets. For the Controller/Defender/Corruptor, Temporal Bomb looks very appealing since it brings recharge/recovery buffs that /traps don't currently have, but in a fast run where the team mows through groups, it might not shine until the AV or large pulls? Will have to test, loved my ar/dev on Live, will be interesting to tinker with builds to fit Remote Bomb in. Incidentally, that guy who made the post a few day ago accusing the devs for being lazy reallllllly turned out to be top tier r/agedlikemilk material.
  6. As long as they are restricted to volunteer work, paying out of their own pockets and donations, anything as is would be welcome, and anything further would be much appreciated. Seems a tad entitled to call out "volunteers" as lazy, but maybe you are just being facetious, let's assume that. You could be the change, though! How much have you donated, or worked for the devs? I haven't done a thing, so I enjoy what I get and remain thankful.
  7. It's just you. I started around Thanksgiving, except I read through the forum to catch up to the current trends and changes first. And then I searched the common methods on inf farming. Grinding has never been a quicker way than AH to make inf; playing the AH made trillionaires back on Virtue, and it still does here on Homecoming. Hammer that concept into your head before you think the sky is falling because of a double xp bonus that removes a nearly inconsequential part of your lifetime inf earning. Do your research, there are stickied guides on the forum that literally point you to a golden path on inf making via AH, if you are still dirt poor after that, then you've got bigger problems to worry about. Here's what I've managed so far on a fresh account, no donations, no outside helps, no farms, always double xp. My main is a solo only MM. I've done 1 MSR, a couple Yin's, and a handful of ITFs. I'm too old to keep up with the fully IO'd pace of runs, and I've got a waifu now, so when she needs cuddles, games can wait. level creation date inf (billion) ATO sets purple sets main 50 11/21 1.29 2 2 alt 43 11/30 1.17 2 1 (stashed) alt 50 12/07 1.15 2 3 alt 47 12/12 1.38 2 1 (stashed) alt 15 12/18 0.66 0 0 alt 5 12/20 0.04 0 0 Once an alt hits lvl30, it usually gets as full build as possible, with unequipped enhancers waiting in a bin at base. I keep 2 alts to craft, and rotate to a fresh alt once an alt is done with getting what it needs for the full build. No alt hits lvl50 before getting 1b inf. It's just how I play. No lvl50 necessary, no farming necessary, no IOs necessary. If my lvl15 can carry over 500m while still shooting at Snakes, then you can do better with your roster of lvl50's. You've got some forum reading to do.
