Cellphones yes, but the cars, many of those are boats and seem pretty 70s to me. But then there's computers on a lot of desks, so who even knows?

If you can farm 120 merits that way, why do you need to get them from AE? 😃
I general I like the idea of emphasizing the AE, real work within the AE, not farms, though. I think I posted here once that I'd like to see the Devs return to/ramp up their Dev's Choice program, by a lot, and really encourage players to get into it more, to help keep the game material more diverse (and cheaply so).

Please let me know who that pratfall of a team leader that was so I can put him on my blacklist too. That's the worst kind of player, period. I'd rather play with an entire league full of "how do I get to Pocket D?" n00bz than one self-centered fool like that.

I think I've settled on Doms as my fave these days too. But I also make number-ignoring choices and avoid cookie-cutter planning, so all this might be hokum for you:
It's a matter of play style, but I'd stick with the Leaderships, because I'm not much of a fan of Stealthing missions and speedruns, whatever; of course if you are, ignore me. 😃
Being hard up for End, I've even dropped Tough+Weave on Doms before and still made things work - clearly a bad idea if you wanna do mad +4/+8 runs and 4-star material. I always team, so I tend to draw less notice and so avoid alphas that'll kill me when I even so much look at a group of foes. Plus that leaves open more power choices to pick up Tactics to drop the Guassian's proc into. Again, if you team, it proc-checks how many people around you that Tactics is affecting, it even can proc off pets.

I think some got put in one place because it's something that would draw interest, like the top of a building with a radio tower on it, the bottom of a strip mine (redside, of course) and so on. Then there are ones in not so obvious places but that make sense, like the wrecked car. Then there are ones that are just wherever, "let's say Statesman defeated some trolls here at... uh, this street corner. Boom."

This is the only MMO I play, and the only video game I play. I often get bored of it and yet, still here! I still enjoy making a new story for the AE, at least once I've finished wrestling with that janky thing, and I'm still susceptible to that happy confluence of events when character concept, name and costume all somehow come together and make the game seem fun all over again. I always enjoy the sense of camaraderie on a good fun-minded team, but those sadly seem to be fewer and fewer between.

I built a stalker to take as many combat (meaning damaging) TP-like powers that I could, so he's a Shield/Savage, and he's really fun to play - no more chasing after runners or anything I just 'port on top of them. Elec probably would have been a better choice instead of Savage damage-wise, but I'm perfectly happy with him.
I build up a Dom recently for all the damage boosts I could possibly get, sacrificing everything else when it came to choosing "more damage" vs. say recharge or more End or whatever. Set bonuses? Frankenslot for +damage. Incarnate powers? Go for +damage. You get the idea. I don't think she quite made perma-Dom and she's prone to KB and holds, but turns out she can still play just fine, and when the stars align (Gaussains firing off, BU clicked, etc.) I've gotten up around +250% damage, maybe more (I really should run a log sometime and check). I dunno if that's actually exceptional or not, and maybe I'm ignorant of a few good tricks to kick that up even more (I keep meaning to post her build and see if anyone can refine her more; also, note to self: make sure to use empowerment stations in my base), but I did build this weird thing myself, so I enjoy running it.

Mace is a lot of fun. I don;'t usually run standard melee toons, but I've run Mace a few times now, both Live and HC.
