  1. I'd like to see named pipes for chat channels, which could be used to write damage meters. But if really like to create a second monitor chat client with better organization and history.
  2. This would be really nice. I end up putting in a "safe" bid and then clicking Find from the Bid tab, which seems to update the history data more reliably.
  3. Leave the recharge longer only if the damage doesn't get nerfed like it is currently on beta. If it's nerfed so badly they need the faster recharge Hold on just a moment! First of all; the dominator AT doesn't need buffing. Secondly; dominator sniper powers are vastly stronger (by around 50% dam/per activation with better end/per damage) than the AT who supposedly are the masters of blasting. To further insult to injury; dominators can leverage this damage with much less risk than blasters while having pets to further increase the damage gap. You may have better luck in the Stickied June 8th version of this thread. This isn't about buffing Doms, it's about not nerfing the current Dom snipes. You can argue that they *should* nerf Dominators snipes, but this change wasn't supposed to be about nerfing anyone. Blaster's are still doing a ton more damage than Dominators across the board, with both base damage and damage caps. Focusing on Snipe damage exclusively (not even ST damage) while trying to bring in AT role balance is misleading.
  4. That's great, Captain. Thanks for the info. If Power Burst turned into something like our current fast snipe, that would help a lot. Love for Power Boost and Total Focus would be awesome. I took /Energy Assault because of how much I loved TF back in the day on my blaster. But losing the Mag 4 Stun killed its wow factor. PB also lost some lustre at double the recharge of the blaster version, and has me tempted to drop it, even though it was one of the draws of the set. I'm not sure what more like Gather Shadows would mean, just adding a damage buff? They seem pretty similar to me on paper.
  5. I'm not as demoralized, but I do wish Doms hadn't gotten hit so hard by this. It does seem like they're unwilling to leave Doms working different from other ATs. Powerhouse said they'd be reviewing the Dom secondaries. So hopefully Power Burst and Blaze get some love (as well as /NRG in general,) they're the real losers with this change.
  6. Apparently Freeze Ray does reasonable damage now? I'm curious how much that changes Ice/. We also lost the Mag 4 sun on Total Focus. RIP old friend.
  7. I'm not sure I understand why /Devices is getting buffed for the sniper changes? Is there a reason it was getting hit particularly hard relative to other blaster secondaries? I thought maybe Targeting Drone was less important to get to 22%, but it sounds like 22% will be as important as ever, and /Devices walks away with a giant recharge boost, and some other buffs?
  8. Thanks. No Redraw send to help. Does AR damage really drop off without that setting? It seems really weird that they'd put something so performance dependent in customization options. I wish the secondaries didn't put your weapon away, like the Natural origin throwing star power. But this is a reasonable second best. /Plant seems good so far, I'm up to 20 now. I agree that the animations aren't great. I really wish we could disable all the thorns busting out of your skin stuff. (Except maybe for Skewer? I haven't taken it, but sounds like it makes sense as you turning your hand into a giant thorn.) As an old school blaster, it's got a lot of stuff that I wouldn't expect in a blaster secondary. ST Hold+Damage is great. Wilderness Fortress is a double strength Stamina, plus a significant Absorb pulse. Although it sounds like /Devices is going to be crazy good now with some extra free recharge and web grenade buffs. So maybe the blaster secondaries have just been power creeping for a while now.
  9. It sounds like the decision to unify the Blaster and Dom Snipes came before the recharge adjustments? I'm really hoping we just leave the recharge longer for Doms, with whatever the formula says that means for Dom fast snipe damage (and the ToHit->Damage buff.)
  10. I can't get any good data on /Plants, and I don't see much discussion of it here. What are people's opinions? Any gems? Any duds? An early ST Hold in the secondary looks promising, and make me really curious about Ice/Plant. I'm committed to AR/ as my primary currently, though, for pun purposes. While I'm here, do all the Blaster secondaries cause AR/ to have to re-draw their weapon if they use a secondary power? Is the re-draw slowing down DPS?
  11. Wait, Purple sets are active when you exemplar down? How far down do they keep working? I'd just assumed I needed separate "purples" and "exemplar" builds.
  12. Maybe after the snipe changes when I don't *need* Link Minds to get my Snipe going, I can try out some of the other Epic pools. :) Although Psionic Tornado is also a great FF proc-er. Thanks for the note, Captain Powerhouse. I'm glad to hear you're looking at the assault sets. It wasn't until I saw the Snipe changes that I realized how bland /Energy might be (5 blasts, 2 melee attacks, PBAoE, and Power Boost.) FWIW, I wouldn't be concerned about the PPM changes from the recharge time, if it weren't also coming on top of a significant damage nerf. As Mezmera says, the Dominator playstyle seems to want long recharge time, heavier hitting attacks. Trading damage for recharge is usually a downgrade.
  13. Ah, yeah. If they're adding the buff based on to hit chance, that'll help out with Sniper Blast. Setting aside the proc nerf, I think that buff makes Power Burst (and probably Blaze and Explosive Shuriken?)kind of pointless? It's a longer recharge attack, with worse animation time, shorter range doing less damage than Sniper Blast. Maybe replace Power Burst with Explosive Blast or Energy Transfer?
  14. @kelaris On live, Sniper w/Force Feedback is an 80% proc rate (2ppmx(4.33+20)/60s.) With these changes, it's a 54% proc rate (or 71% and 44% depending on how it calculates the activation times. That's the primary nerf for me. Sniper Blast right now is a great reliable place for a FF proc, and that's my primary use for it. With ~200 "natural" global recharge and the FF procs, I'm never waiting on recharge for Sniper, and I'm usually cycling it in with Roots/Psionic Tornado/Whirling Hands for AoE. This change turns it into a second Power Burst. Which makes a secondary that's already pretty boring even more boring. I can't really speak to your attack chain. It seems weird that Midnight Grasp is only in one of your attack chains? i would have though a) that it would have better damage than test Snipe (2.76 vs 2.28) and b) it would be worth putting into your rotations. I'd also expect the damage on your snipe to go from 293 to (293*2.28/3.56=187.6.) I'm not sure if they hotfixed in a different change to the damage scaling already? I'm really grateful to the devs for the work they've done, I don't think they're trying to do something horrible. I just think they don't understand the impact of having another generic 12s recharge blast is on sets that already have a generic 14s blast.
  15. Are there just not enough Dominators playing (or running Sniper attacks?) to be concerned about how badly this is going to hit us? My Plant/Energy Dom is going to be dramatically nerfed by this change. I didn't need a fifth generic-damage curve blast in my set (maybe 4.5, Power Push is slightly less generic.) I'd been having a lot of fun with Force Feedback and BU proc on my snipe, but the recharge change guts that as well. I'll have to do a big re-build, and for the first time I'm regretting my secondary. (Looking at the Epic Pool changes, I wish I could get the Epic pool version. :() Please take a look at what you can do with the Dominator secondaries (or Domination, or something) to make up for this nerf.
  16. I'm deep into permadom on my Plant/Energy/Psi, but found even more +Recharge last night while getting set up to permadom without Hasten. This should make getting early permadom even easier for my Dominator brothers and sisters. You can get a buff from your SG base which gives +20% Recharge and lasts for an hour (I think, it last for a long time, but there's no buff duration listed.) You can get a couple of other buffs too (KB and various Mez resistances.) It takes 3 salvage components, but those are cheap and 5k or so for a 1 hour buff is worth it, compared to the number of set bonuses you'd have to stack to get 20% recharge. SG bases and all components are free, sign up in the City Hall in Atlas Park. You can add a basic crafting table, a teleporter to 10 locations (you know all the locations automatically,) a nurse to buy and sell from, and get a basic base in 10 minutes. You want to create a "Mystic Crucible" or a "Supercollider." They're free, might as well make both! That'll give you more options for salvage to trade in. Then find Increase Attack Speed and trade in whatever salvage you've got. Or grab some from the AH. A Base Transporter is a good investment. It'll let you teleport to your base every 30 minutes, and then teleport right back to where you were. So keeping the 1 hour buff up shouldn't be a problem. And you can use your base's teleport pad to get back to most other Zones quickly as needed. You can also get a 30% Recharge buff as one of the Secondary Mutation powers, which seems to come up fairly often.
  17. In my experience on Homecoming, the buff extends but not stack. I can have it up for 10-15 seconds at a time while spamming Sniper Blast, Psionic Tornado, and Power Push.
  18. I've had a ton of fun with Plant/Energy. I haven't tried Thorns or Electric, but the FF proc makes Energy really strong. I wouldn't use Force Feedback to get perma-dom, but it's not that hard to get a pile of Global Recharge for Perma-dom. But Force Feedback is really strong and helps the Plant/NRG AoE a lot. I slot FF into Psionic Tornado and Snipe, slotted out Tactics+Mind Link to get the Snipe instant, and avoid recharge in Snipe/Psionic Tornado. Instant Snipe is great, and procs FF 80% of the time. With Hasten+Global Recharge for perma-dom, Instant Snipe alone is good uptime on FF. If you're doing AoE work, Psionic Tornado is a very reliable FF proc at 4+ targets. Snipe+Roots+Whirling Hands+Roots+Psionic Tornado burns end like crazy, but the FF recharge makes things cycle super fast. Don't slot any recharge alongside FF, my testing showed that it cuts the proc rate considerably.
