Force Feedback was only firing when I clicked the power. But it was firing 100% of the time, since the recharge is so long. I didn't check other procs.

I didn't test the Dom ATO proc, but I did test other procs in Carrion Creepers. It only procs when you initially drop it, patches and creeper vines didn't ever cause procs. This seems to be a change, since older guides reccomended it. But with PPM, it doesn't seem worth it.

Here's my current build. Add another 20% from Base Buffs. I'd like to re-build to fit in Power Burst (maybe drop Power Push or Power Boost, even though Power Boost is great in general) for another FF proc, and I definitely will once the Instant Snipe/Energy Assault changes go through. Having to slot Tactics and Link Mind that hard is definitely a hassle. But current Instant Snipes+FF is worth it. I probably should drop Kinetic Crush, since I'm well past my Recharge target and the extra KB isn't doing a lot of work. +1 I didn't realize how much this aspect of not being able to customize your pets would annoy me more than being able to pick matching models. But it does.

So, are people really using Tankermind to tank for groups? I see a bunch of people mentioning they're taking Provoke. How do you protect from status effects hosing up everything? Do you mostly not care if you're CCed, as long as you can Provoke ever once in a while? Is there some APP that's key to handling this well?
-
That looks promising. Do the ICONs track on/off recharge, and show an activating circle like the existing power buttons? I'd really like to find a way to just replicate powers, but with powexec_location settings.
-
I'm curious about /Nature as well (for thematic reasons.) It seems like the debuffs and extra resist could work well. Healing is weird for MMs, but it seems like between Defense Enhs, -ToHit Auras, Defense Auras, -DMG Auras, Resist Enhs and Resist from Wild Growth, your thugs would be pretty safe and effective.
-
Azrael, you should grab Dom /Energy Assault's Power Push. It's full regular blast damage plus a strong 100% KB. It feels like the blaster version should get the same love.
-
Thanks everyone, this is good info. I ended up going with /Atomic. Trick Arrow does look like a good set with Ice/, but didn't really match thematically. I don't have any trouble hanging out in melee, the original version of this guy was /Energy Blapper. I'm still a little unclear on Beta Decay. Do folks just leave it running the whole time like a defensive toggle and hope for the best? I do wonder about the design on /Time, if the numbers on Pines are right. 16s recharge on a 10s hold for no damage with a long animation time, vs 15s for Plant/Atomic, with some damage. I feel like they must be overvaluing the Mag 4 possibility. But that's even shorter duration, and requires stacking a separate power anyway.
-
Are there any guess it advice on how /Time and /Atomic play? I want a good recharge secondary for Ice, with a hold. /Time has no damage on the control powers, which makes the Hold seem weak compared to other sets. But it kind of gets Mag 4 for a bit with Time Wall. How does Delayed work in practice? Does /Time have a control feel? /Atomic Hold damage is weak compared to Freeze Ray, which made me a little sad. And I'm unclear on how to use Beta Decay. Do you mostly use this solo? That taunt seems rough for some extra recharge. Is the AE hold later any good? Which is more control oriented? Thematically, I prefer Time, but don't have a good feeling for the set just looking at the powers. I got one too level 6 this morning, but not having damage on the early secondaries felt weak and made it hard to judge.

Yeah, I bound it. But anyone buffing you or seemingly breathing near you, knocks you back into standing bipedally like a chump.
-
It would be awesome if we could set an idle emote for a character, that they default to when they stop moving, get hit by a buff, etc. I don't know how plausible it is to do this, but it doesn't seem obviously unworkable. I specifically want this for a quadruped who defaults to /growl, but I'm sure there's a lot of emotes that could really make some character ideas pop.
-
I think you lose your alignment power and have to reset the countdown to get it back? I don't know if many folks are actually getting or using their Alignment powers? I made a Villain Dominator just because their Alignment power is great for Doms and there's no equivalent elsewhere.
-
I assumed Power Push got buffed across the board, since the Dominator version is actually pretty good (damage and recharge between Power Bolt and Power Blast) and they'd added damage to the Ice Holds. This seems like it's worth asking Cpt Powerhouse to fix. Getting stuck with both Stun and a low damage Power Push as dead powers kind of sucks.

I'm not really pushing Permadom without Hasten. Although now that I've done it, I recommend it. :) It's not hard to click every two minutes while you're running a mission. But I found that while running between missions, or playing around on the AH, I'd get a little tunnel vision, or I'd want to get up and take a break. And seeing my Dom bar crash, then having to rebuild it on the first couple of mobs in the next mission, was annoying. This is much more about protecting your Domination bar than actually needing Dom while you're idle.
-
QuiJon, you seem kind of hostile about this, I'm trying to help people. There's a very simple reason to get to perma-Dom without Hasten: You only have one Auto Power. I want to be able to put Domination on Auto, run a mission, and then have perma-Dom even if I'm not watching Hasten like a hawk. I can travel or read chat or got get a drink without losing Domination. I still have Hasten, but I don't need to click it to keep Perma-Dom. It's been a great QoL change and I highly recommend pushing to 125% Global recharge for it. 2 Purple sets, or 3-4 other sets it a pretty big deal to most people. But in particular, I mentioned it so that people can get to perma-Dom earlier in their builds. If you can get perma-Dom (w/Hasten) reliably at level 22 instead of waiting to 32 to have 10 more slots to get 2 more 5 piece set bonuses, that's a win. It's basically always going to be easier with a free extra 20% Recharge, until you're deep into Perma-Dom/Perma-Hasten/Perma-Dom without Hasten.

Turns out, you *can* delete the SG Base Buffs, from the Powers tab! One down!

What are my options for knockback/knockdown protection?
senseichen replied to earthaddy's topic in Blaster
Yeah, we could do with a general Newbie guide to free or nearly free stuff at this point. :) You need to create buff tables, I think they're under the Arcane Workshop or Tech Workshop tabs when you Place Items. There are three levels of each, but you might as well get the level 3 versions: Supercollider and Arcane Crucible. Place those in your base. Then click on them and they'll give you a big menu of buffs with the Salvage required for each, and a Create button. Each of the two tables has three different mixes of Salvage per buff, so there are 6 possible mixes of Salvage for each. Apparently making these buffs counts towards some crafting badge too. -
What I mean is, when you have an AH item "Held" where you can put it up for sale, show all of your Selling and Bidding for that item. So if you've got an Obliteration Acc/Damage 50 IO Held, show that you're already selling 3 at 5Million, and bidding for 3 at 2Million, in the same pane where you see History and can enter your Ask price. The annoyance on stacks is re-paying the listing fee. I need one of my Rare salvage back to make a recipe that just dropped, but I have to pay the penalty for all 10 if I want to get it. E-mail is cross server, I don't think Supergroups are? And I don't think you can store things like Merit Rewards in your SG base, but you can e-mail them to other characters? One good shared account vault with Influence would also do the trick. :)
-
@jaguaratron are you talking about the Blaster Secondaries? I was talking about the Dom Assault secondaries. @scran I think GM Widower was quoting some other communication, because that was news to me too. I can't see anything in Leandro's post history that looks like that quote. So your understanding was reasonable. :)
-
I've got some QoL suggestions: Make Base Buffs reset their current duration if you're already buffed, or put in a way to dismiss them. Timing refreshing them is annoying. :) Add filter tags to organize Salvage and Recipes. Keep a "not in other tabs" tab as well. Salvage management is a hassle right now, and any way to organize them would be nice. Slash commands for using converters would save a lot of repetitive clicking. Sort or filter options in the AH, especially for what you're selling, would be really useful. Show (with prices) that you're current Selling or Bidding on an item from the "Held" AH tab. Some way to cancel part of a stack you're selling on the AH. Sending a stack via e-mail. I've heard this suggested before, but I don't see a thread here?

What are my options for knockback/knockdown protection?

You can also get 10 points of KB resistance from your SG base buffs. They last an hour, persist through death, and cost a couple of common/uncommon salvage. Grab the Attack Speed buff and maybe Recovery while you're there. Make a Supercollider/Arcane Crucible in your SG base! If you don't have a base, get one in Atlas, they're free! -
Icy looks a little thin too, yeah. Comparing to /Energy, it looks like Energy gets Power Push and Snipe, and Icy gets Frost Breath and Chilling Embrace. The other 7 powers look pretty equivalent (3 blasts, 2 melee, PBAoE, and Power Boost.) It still looks on paper like Energy gets the short end of that trade. In a magical world, I'd move Power Blast into Power Bolt's slot, and replace it with Energy Torrent would do a lot for /Energy Assault. Then bump Power Burst's Recharge as Cpt Powerhouse is thinking to really differentiate it from Sniper Blast. And put Total Focus animation on par with Seismic Smash, which seems to be the closest equivalent in other Assault sets. I'd be pretty thrilled with /Energy at that point.

Small correction: Incarnate trials and the Incarnate story arcs (the six Mot-related Dark Astoria arcs, the Belladonna Vetrano arc, and the Number Six arc) use your full Incarnate Shifts. Do those non-Mot ARcs also give Empyrean Merits on completion like the Mot arcs?
