Yep, that was my main also. I could see situationally on a tanker where it would be useful, lol its hard to break what I'm used to on them though. -

Thats mainly because they lowered the recharge of it. If it was on the old schedule it would be 100% of the time. It got buffed significantly on the slow version. -

Power crash brings versatility to stalkers, and Scrappers, on tanks its another solid AOE under focus. I'm on the fence as to whether or not I need it on my tanks. -

Just remember this for optimal attack rotations. ATO hide in AS ATO BU in EP AS - TF - FET - EP - AS - EP - FET - EP. Repeat Or AS - TF - PC - EP - AS - EP - PC - EP. Repeat. As long as hasten is up these are devestating. -

and they are had without it, ET if it had no focus applied had its recharge reduced, does all energy dmg now, and also cost no endurance. TF had its animation shortened. EP got a dmg buff WH got a dmg buff we got an additional AOE in PC and all that is before you throw a mechanic in the mix, which is again, simply activating TF which is a solidly good power now that it had its animation time reduced. You keep saying part time, but the fact is with the reduced recharge its up a lot more than it was Pre Nerf - ET. But its so simple its pretty darn close to ET being full time fast. Here are some more numbers for ya. Invul/EM 4:07 Beta Invul/EM 6:03 Live Fire/EM 2:53 Beta Fire/EM 3:49 Live EM/EA SC 2:32 Beta EM/Ni SC 2:13 Beta EM/EA ST 1:11 Beta EM/EA ST 3:14 Live Even if I didnt apply focus i would have improved my numbers from live because of the ET change, the TF change, and the EP change. There is literally no way you can say this isnt an improvement over pre nerf or live - it just isnt what you wanted, and you are allowed to not like it. But its not accurate say they arent positive or good changes. -

Before this I used ET TF now I use TF ET. I guess that makes me versatile in the face of extreme odds. -

You are actually getting both. Longtime EM player here, I'm for these changes, I don't sacrifice much to push one button to unlock a world of hurt. Sorry, but anyway you slice this change its fun and much improved even over pre nerf. All thats left is your opinion, thats not grounded in facts or data. -

At the end of the day, the point you keep glossing over: Remove focus entirely, EM is much improved, and probably would rival Pre nerf EM in terms of number by what you are getting. Thats a plus. Add focus, yeah its a mechanic but its as simple as activating a now really good faster power in TF. Wow so hard, damn those mechanics. Even if You miss on TF you get focus... Again man so oppressive. I dont know how we can manage. Once focus is attained the magnitude of increase in performance is high and you get to choose how you spend it - whether a 1 second 1 shot machine, a regen debuff, or an increased AOE. Situationally that's awesome. Finally its awesome on all ATs - does it favor some over the others? Yeah, but this is normal. 1. Stalker is a ST AT - EM is a ST centric set so naturally it favors it the most with ATO combinations and such. 2. Scrapper favors AOE when gaining stacks of focus - because well scrapper lock - its real. Its a love suffering relationship. 3. Tankers get increased AOE function. 4. Brutes control their own destiny by using their fury and dmg potential to direct it any way they want. Not every AT will play the same and it shouldn't. But the one thing if you rip all the mechanic stuff away is EM is significantly improved across all 4 melee ATs regardless. Focus brings them further to life virtually any way your imagination can fathom. -
TW will still blow EM out of the water with AOE, but the ST of EM now is Chefs Kiss A way around EMs middling AOE is to run a FIRE EM You have Burn, PC, WH plus the ST of TF and ET - and even EP is really good mmmmmmm mmm

AS - TF - FET - EP - AS - EP - FET - EP - AS the reason you rotate in the 3 EPs is it gives you a really good chance to get an extra build up quite a few times - one time i had 3 BU but that is a unicorn - its common to get 2 though. If you are in a mission, and need to switch for AOE AS - TF - PC - EP - AS - EP - PC - EP - AS or you could do this AS - TF - PC - EP - AS - EP - FET - EP - AS with a stalker unless you get an unlucky roll you are in Fast ET at least 90% of the time maybe a little more. -

Try switching the build up ATO to EP I was able to average 1:40s and that was with agility as the alpha. Also had body mastery. Best time was 1:11 Oh just noticed something else, switch assault radial to core. It favors the big dmg hits of EM more. -

Yeah its not middling by any stretch of how the numbers run, and what you gain. Even if you never used the mechanic, the buffs are solid and almost as good as original EM with that alone. Add focus in, which is so easy, to just activate one power - it blows pre nerf EM out of the water. There are no blinders here this is an awesome change. -

Are you saying tankers cant be a tank and use an attack chain That's Basically 1 2 3 4. Or 1 2 4 1 3? Yeah, you are making that way more complicated than it is. -

I wouldnt be opposed to that, however i wouldn't want a nerf to dmg to get it - when TF being buffed is a good power now. It doesnt hurt to use TF, and it grants on miss even so yeah, either way but I wouldnt want anything lowered to get it, cause its fine as it is. -

You are welcome to, but you are wrong if you say its not a net gain compared to old EM. It is in every way - even adding moar AOE. -
Focused Feedback: Energy Melee Revamp
Infinitum replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
No, you would be wrong if you cant see how much of a net gain this is, like I keep saying its a net gain if you never use focus. If you use focus it blows old pre nerf EM out of the water. They have given you a Ferrari and you are asking for an 88 ford escort. -

Even if you never used focus it's an outright large buff. -

Same thing with stalker - slot chance to hide in AS and lead TF with the fast AS and you will have a high crit chance on TF for double focus more often. Slot chance for BU in EP and rotate it 3 times in yiur chain and you will have double by often too. This strategy is how i got a 1:11 on a pylon, with agility as my alpha, and body mastery as my epic - not optimized for dmg. I average 1:40 not really trying hard. You could do some pylon fu with Moonbeam and such and I'd imagine it would go a lot fast ET. -

In mobs it increases your chance to crit TF. If you are going for normal gameplay its the optimal slot for it. It drops once you get down to ST sure, but in mob saturation the chance id say is around 70-80% for a TF Crit, maybe higher. -

Yep, well soloing those you should just roll a stalker anyway, no other AT will out do EM on it. But for mission killing the tactic I mentioned is solid for Scrappers. In ST stalkers are >* when it comes to EM.
