Sound like your anti virus is blocking it. If you look in the OP below the install instructions there are various fixes for all these problems as it could be several things. Might be helpful if you took a screenshot of the error screen, tell us what OS you have etc etc

Glad you got it working! EDIT: Keep in mind I dunno how strict your uni is with VPN's so I wouldn't spread that around too much just to be sure you don't get in trouble!

Dunno never really bothered with VPN...you may have better luck asking in the discord for advice on that, link to both discords are in my guide.

First thing when you guys have a working game then something happens there is no need really to delete the game files themselves, this should be a last ditch effort. What happens in these cases is for some reason your firewall or anti virus blocked the game. OR The launcher (as in Tequila or Rum) didn't update properly. Most of the times it will be this problem. Now since you deleted everything, and I assume you used the torrent to download the game file again? or did you use tequila to download them again? Also I assume last time you played in the tequila launcher it said SCORE at the top? This has changed and will now say HOMECOMING instead. Game still uses score files but they changed the name in the launcher UI. If you used the torrent you need to keep in mind torrent can't be updated so while the game files will be fine the tequila files will be the old ones. Which mean you need to go to the game folder and delete tequila.xml. Make sure you delete the tequila xml and not just the tequilalog.xml. Then go delete the tequila registry keys, see guide on how to do this. Now go to my guide and download the tequila.xml that provided as an attachment. This is the updated tequila.xml...put that in your game folder. This replaces the old tequila.xml you deleted earlier and has new updated code. Now delete the tequila shortcut on your desktop. Now start tequila.exe fro your game folder, it should ask you for the install path...choose your game folder and let it download/revalidate. Game should work now.

Read my guide. Link is in my siggy. For the registry fix there's more details on page 4 I think it was, try to go look manually to find the tequila keys. If it was working before but not now then something didn't patch right. Instructions: Go to your game folder and find a file called tequila.xml and delete it. Make sure you get the tequila.xml and not the tequilalog.xml. Go to my guide, link in siggy, and download the attachment in the first post. It is the update tequila.xml you just deleted in your game folder. Put this new one back into your game folder. Delete the desktop shortcut that you use that start tequila. Verify the registry at HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Tequila if it there delete the Tequila folder. For the registry there is a mini guide on page 4 on my guide that shows/explain how to find the registry key for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cryptic\coh. It's the same procedure but you need to find HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Tequila instead. Go back to your game folder and start tequila.exe, if you deleted the registry key correctly it should ask you what the install path is. This is your game folder point it to that and it should update/revalidate tequila and you should be able to play. Keep in mind on the tequila launcher SCORE will have been replaced with HOMECOMING.

You don't reinstall score... you download the game files and install Tequila or Rum. You don't start the game with score.exe but start it with Tequila or Rum which are launcher that in turn start score. That said yes if you are in a university they most likely have some kind of block or restriction, try using a VPN.

Read through my guide, see siggy link below. It has the various fixes for game crashing, not starting etc. I have also updated the tequila.xml file, see attachment in my guide OP. The auth code was also updated. If your game was running before it just something that hasn't updated correctly so I would try downloading the xml in my guide and and maybe deleting the tequila registry keys which will then cause tequila to ask you again to point to the game folder which should force it to update everything.

The "side door" is an exit terminal. You end up there when you arrive at the station via tram from another location (or another instance of the same location) Aye but when running real fast sometimes you can accidentally zip right to the exit door instead of the departure and then your like oh hmm this isn't working... lol

Just to be safe did you enter the tram from the middle doors or did you use the "side door"? There's a side door on trams that leads to a different car and you can't enter it (get the blue hand) you have to use the middle or center doorway.

SillyGreenMonkey, I finally got it to work. I had to download the game as a torrent. Then download Island Rum. Place them all in the same folder in my Applications and suddenly Island rum downloaded the files with no missing files. You'll know instantly as the first file downloaded does so without an error. Hope this helps. Pretty much what my guide says to do. Maybe your initial download was corrupted somehow.

Thank you for all the tips all. I have noticed you can't seem to use "arcane" portal with tech beacons......so so sad....some of the arcane portal are cool looking but I don't care much for the beacons that go with them. Oh hmm some portal just don't seem to work hmm... Oh yes where did you all place kallisti wharf?

Not having a mac there little I can do to figure this out. That said I suggest you guy go on discord, keep in mind there are two discords, and ask around there. One of them has a mac channel. See my guide for the link to both of them.

Look at my siggy check out my guide. You might have to replace the tequila.xml or delete the Tequila registry and then when you restart tequila it will ask you to choose the install path again..point it back to your game folder and let me know if that worked.

Thanks for the catch @The Fifth Horseman, I am quite happy there someone else keeping an eye on this and catching any errors from updates like this. Sometimes irl just runs away on me...lol

You need a separate forum account AND game account for each person. If you try to make a second game account on the same forum account, it won't work. You need to log off the forums, make a new forum account for your daughter, then log into that new forum account and make a new game account for her. The system uses BOTH accounts, and they have to match exactly. This, the forum account and game account are separate BUT they are linked to one another, so each game account needs its own forum account. Each new account to play the game you must: Make a new forum account then click the "game account" thread to make your actual game account. This link the forum and game accounts.

If score.bat ficx work but you can't update/start via tequila then something is wrong with your tequila install. Check out my guide and the various fixes for the various problems. I am sure you missed something simple and are just not seeing it.
