I'm sorry you picked the wrong person to try to defend, but even the poster went quiet af when I caught him in his lie. It's such a small lie too. I don't even know why you are trying to defend it. Please give facts in a thread where we are trying to have a discussion from both sides. Your side will look so much better if you don't incorporate lies in your statements.

Please by all means cite me facts that army recruiters are unable to wear their uniforms to work in New York City. I will apologize.
-
He stated that army recruiters were unable to wear their uniforms to work in big cities currently. I live in New York City. I know from firsthand experience that army personal are still wearing their uniforms. That is the lie he was caught in.
-
EMTs and Firefighters are being put in crosshairs because there is a battle raging in the first place. Wouldn't it be nice if that wasn't the case and everyone could live peacefully without racial injustice? I agree. Please don't make things up in the future. If you wanna state facts that's fine, but don't lie about uniform issues or anything like that when we're all trying to have a discussion.
-
I'm sure that only had to do with your opinion and not your overuse of harsh language, toxicity, or wording. 🙄
-
Yeah, no. I'm sorry, but I'm gonna have to call BS on this one. I live in NYC, and I most definitely have seen many army personal still wearing their uniforms in my city.

As in multiboxing, right? I can definitely see how more than one account would be wanted in that case. I just play on my laptop. So, just the one for me.
-
Do people actually have more than one account that don't multibox? Now I'm curious. I should make a thread on that. I personally just have the one. It's crazy how many character slots are available in this game. I've never felt I needed more.

You don't even post on the forums @Knuckles915. You have 7 posts total and 5 are on this thread 🤔

Oh 100%. LGBT rights, women's rights, and minority rights have all progressed as much as they did because of the older generations paving the way for the new ones, but I do think new generations are much more progressive these days. So, that is where my fear stepped in. I do regret that I was worried about CoH because of my SG's reaction to George Floyd and BLM, but I was just being honest in my post and my initial thoughts.
-
I'm not going to name names, but when the BLM movement had renewed vigor poured into it with the George Floyd protests, the SG I was in began spamming our Discord chat with hateful comments, which led to me dropping out. I was admittedly worried that since CoH was an older game, maybe the generation of players attached to the game didn't see the world the same way I did. So, seeing Homecoming support the BLM and seeing a decent amount of quality posts in this thread makes me happy. I'm glad there are some players with the same ethic standards I would hope to expect out of Heroes playing this game. 👊🌈🏳️🌈🏴❤️🖤✌️

Telekinesis is actually one of my favorite powers to use when there is an Empath on my team with RA keeping me going. The hold is so ridiculous. As long as you can aim it towards a wall, it's so ❤️ I feel like it's way underrated by the community.

Totally agreed. The animations, knockback, and weird ranged attack powers in the Kinetic Melee (Scrapper) powerset are why I fell in love with the set and made it my main even though it's definitely not top tier. I even went all out and enhanced knockback. It's a game. Play it to have fun. If you're grouping, I only care if your choices are repeatedly getting the team killed (i.e. aggroing other mobs with knockback). As long as that isn't happening, you do you. I much prefer ever so slightly slower missions where every player is having fun versus snooze fest farm missions that speed run for objective/clear or diligently herd and farm every pull and only the spines/fire brute seems to be enjoying himself.

is it possible to move from Redside to Blueside?
Strawberry replied to hecubus23's topic in General Discussion
Null the gull is an actual seagull, btw. I remember the first time I did this, I was looking for someone to talk to standing on the white van (what I read from the guide) and I was so lost for a solid 15 minutes because I didn't realize I was looking for a bird and not a person. Haha! Just putting that out there because if someone told me, it would've helped. -
What are the "workhorse" combos for each AT?
Strawberry replied to Menelruin's topic in General Discussion
Brute: Anything /Firey Aura. I don't even play Brutes. I think the highest level Brute I've ever made is level 8, but this is literally the only Brute I see on my teams 🧐 Controller: Fire/Kinetics. I have particular dislike for this combo back from the golden days of CoH that has left a sour taste in my mouth ever since. I am personally not a fan of fotm toons/sets and seeing Fire/Kinetics running around everywhere used to drive me insane. That being said, it remains a strong combo even after nerfs and nowadays it isn't wildly OP, but still a good strong standard. If I was going to pick an updated Controller for Homecoming, probably something with Plants primary like Plants/Storm, Plants/Kinetics, Plants/Rad. Corruptor: Fire/Thermal. Having a rain power and high base damage on the blast set is more important than the -res from Sonic for a Corruptor imo. Agreed that Thermal is a gold standard for Corruptors. Defender: Dark/Dark. Consistently useful and consistently hovering around a slightly above average power-level since the game launched. The -hit & -res can always prove useful. A decent heal, if you pay even a minimal amount of attention to your positioning, but definitely not heal focused. A strong group rez, if needed, but if no deaths there is application outside of rezzing the team. Also, some soft control from both your primary and secondary. Both sets also take advantage of your higher Defender baseline numbers for heals, debuffs, buffs, etc... I've always seen it as what other Defender primaries/secondaries should compare themselves to. MM: Demons/Thermal. I also agree with the mention of Bots/FF, but I think Demons/Infernal is the Homecoming equivalent of Bots/FF and sets a better standard given Homecoming's distaste (not mine) for FF. -
What Is the **WORST** AT/PowerSet Combination?

Just giving my personal experiences in a thread that asked for personal experiences on set combos that didn't work well 🥴 -
What Is the **WORST** AT/PowerSet Combination?
Strawberry replied to _NOPE_'s topic in General Discussion
Mind you (heh get it? 🐸) , I actually love Mind Control as a set. It's probably my personal favorite control set and I agree that once slotted out Dom/Lev/Mez/Terrify can be very solid for damage, but in terms of sets I have experience with, my Mind/Pain Domination Controller is not one I'd recommend. I attribute that more to the combination of Mind/Pain than anything else. Both are equally good sets in their own ways. Just maybe not together 💔 -
What Is the **WORST** AT/PowerSet Combination?
Strawberry replied to _NOPE_'s topic in General Discussion
Blaster: Sonic/Devices. Safe. I'll give it that, but damage ultimately much lower than other Blasters to the point where I don't even know why you would roll a Blaster instead of a Sentinel. Sonic for Blasters works best with a strong damage oriented secondary, which Devices lacks. Controller: Mind/Pain Domination. Busy low damage primary that feels like it should be providing more lock-down than it actually does combined with an equally busy equally low damage secondary that can get you into danger if you aren't careful. Unlike other controller primaries, you have no pets to buff with your secondary. Okay in teams, but are you even pulling your weight there? Corruptor: Electric/Traps. Outside of Short Circuit which is more for endurance drain, Electric works best at range. Traps wants to be in your face inside of the mobs. Electric doesn't have any sort of rain power to take advantage of Corruption. Defender: Sonic/Electric. This was my main back on Live. I played one all the way to 50 and continued playing it for a good amount of major patches. I originally made one because I never saw one and I like playing weird unusual combinations. Sonic felt fine, but Electric was so unnecessary. I felt like I didn't even have a secondary and I was not one of those Defenders never to use their blast set. Damage was too low and endurance drain was too minimal. Not quite sure how this still holds up and haven't re-rolled one on Homecoming yet. I imagine it's at least slightly better with IO's, incarnate, etc... Mastermind: As others have said, Ninja/TA. Your pets will die off in seconds and you have no way to keep them alive. I don't have enough experience with the other AT's to answer for them, but from what I've played, those are my votes. -
You're right that I was musing in general to begin with, but if you look back you'll see that most of the responses I received were theoreticals and what/if responses that also seemed to take on assumptions about my experiences, so I provided more detail about my most recent experience. I was not team leader. I had no control over the difficulty setting. No, I'm not going to swap to an alt to fill a gap that could be made easier if a player just used their abilities from the primary powerset that they took. That's absurd.

I took it once on a Trick Arrow defender thinking about stacking it with Oil Slick Arrow. I was severely underwhelmed. I didn't bother trying to proc it out or anything. So, I could be missing something. I respec'd out of it pretty fast.
-
Mind you, this wasn't a fully IO'd out team. If I recall correctly, there was only one lvl 50 with a decent amount of IO's, but most of the team seemed to be between 20-40, with only a few sets. We also were dying often enough. As someone who used to main Sonic/Elec Defender back on Live, I'm certain the individual shields would have been useful.
-
Totally agreed that in some teams the buffs aren't even needed and players are already soft-capped or mowing down the missions regardless. In the instance that happened most recently concerning the lvl 45 Sonic Defender, our team was actually struggling. We had a few deaths multiple times and even suffered a complete team wipe in the last mission before I called it quits and took a break after we finished. The shields would 100% have been a welcome addition in this case. I didn't say anything about the lack of shields because I don't like to call out players and agree there are different skill levels or different ways people play, but that still doesn't lessen my confusion. I'm admittedly somewhat surprised to come back to this thread and see so many people trying to come up with ways to defend players who don't use their buffs/shields, but I'm sorry, I can't figure out any kind of defense, for a Defender specifically, to not be using their primary that revolves around team shields in a team that is having trouble and dying in their missions. I remember this being a weird issue I'd see every once in a while on Live. I feel like it was most often associated with Fire/Kinetic controllers that went with fotm and wanted the speed farm, but didn't want to bother speed boosting their teammates. This was also a more understandable issue back before one cast of a buff like Deflection Shield would buff the entire team, but seeing it on Homecoming is a bit surprising. I still feel like it is most common among controllers that don't necessarily want to bother with their secondary as much as their primary and only seem to bother buffing once at the start of each mission. Today I grouped with a 45 Sonic/Sonic Defender who never once put either of his shields on any teammates. I checked his info and he definitely took both of them, but only kept his large toggle shield (Sonic Dispersion) and the toggle -res (Disruption Field) active. I also kept checking the group buffs info in the party window to make sure he wasn't only sometimes hitting a few teammates with his shields (since the party buff range isn't especially large), but no. No one ever seemed to have them. Stayed and ran a few missions with the group, so it wasn't even just a one time thing. Seemed especially strange for a Defender to be ignoring them. Back on Live, Kinetics seemed to be the most problematic for this sort of thing and asking "would you mind Speed Boosting me please?" sometimes got repetitive, but outside of this strange Sonic Defender ignoring his buffs that I ran into today, I feel like Thermal and Cold shields are the ones I don't get most often even when someone has taken the powers. Just curious if anyone else still runs into this?

It's very important to me in this trying time to be a part of a SG that is accepting of all and doesn't promote any kind of homophobia, racism, or intolerance. I wish I didn't have to say this, but found out the hard way that the previous SG (will not mention names) did not promote the same ideals I would expect. This is especially important to me given the current atmosphere. In fact, I would honestly prefer not even to discuss politics in game or on the SG Discord/chat. I play this game to take my mind off that sort of thing. Please don't turn this thread into a political debate. I'm just looking for a community where I would fit in, and again, I wish I didn't even have to advertise myself like this, but as I said I learned the hard way from my mistake of silently expecting my previous SG to have the same ethic standards I do.
