  1. There are known issues with COH on Intel HD Graphics + Windows 10 .
  2. From what I've understood, getting PhysX to work was more a matter of plumbing than rewrites. Graphics is non-trivial and porting the entire engine to a modern graphics API would be far more complicated.
  3. This may sound silly, but I'd be interested in being able to use two gloves from different sets - not unlike the existing Robotic Arm options allow, but limited to one glove only. Is there any chance of such an option being added in the future?
  4. By "torrent", do you mean magnet:?xt=urn:btih:FD5ADD155E5FD01D6013B026A8766E56C2841E3D&dn=City%20of%20Heroes ? It's working fine, with 10 seeds and 20 peers by my count. The problem is either with your network or your machine. Make sure your antivirus and firewall aren't blocking Tequila and your torrent app. As seen in the post right above yours, they can and do. 1. Tequila downloads files from hosts funded by volunteers. And yes, those hosts are getting hammered by all the downloads. 2. There's nothing wrong with P2P sharing. Blizzard used BitTorrent for their downloaders for years. 3. Using a cyberlocker is actually less practical. The game is 4.5 GB and would have to be split into multiple chunks to fit onto most file hosting services. The free option on most of those services tends to be capped at 50 kbps download rate - so you're "only" looking at 26 hours of straight download, with whatever timeouts the hosting services imposed on you between downloading more than one file from their site (for some it can be an hour - AFTER your first download finishes - for others it can be several hours). Even mirrored across multiple services it would be a bloody pain to manage, and someone would have to periodically recheck and reupload the files. This isn't how the original was distributed - which, incidentally, had nothing to do with why it was shut down.
  5. Don't worry about it, you can always add an SSD later. Ultimately they're a convenience - just there to reduce load speed.
  6. DX12 is not backwards compatible IIRC. You need to have an older DirectX runtime installed along with it.
  7. Merely being non-commercial does not automatically make it fair use, it's only a fraction of one of several criteria. That criterion also considers whether the work in question is transformative, educational or a parody - and this use does not meet any of the three. A report is not a question or a request for clarification, it's an explicit demand for punitive measures. Accept that and work from there. Re-read the earlier posts in the thread. Mass demands for institution of punitive measures against other users when Homecoming's current policies do not support such measures taken. That is a form of persecution.
  8. If you can't get a discrete GPU then some of the more recent AMD APUs might be a better choice than Intel.
  9. Or maybe remake the toon and choose to skip the basic tutorial when talking to the first contact...
  10. Then if your reasoning was valid, you've been advocating for people to report players who by your own logic should not be penalized in the first place, just like you weren't getting for that avatar. Hmm. Sounds like wasting GMs time to me still. However, you're actually wrong. A violation still occurs regardless of who created the depiction and regardless of whether the use was commercial. Since you opted to keep the avatar and tried to rationalize it, you've admitted that you have no commitment to practice what you preach. And again... you want a public stance, then ask for it. Don't be a dick about it - and wasting GMs time with whining, persecution of players who aren't violating Homecoming's current policy and advocating for other players to engage in such persecution definitely fall under that umbrella.
  11. No, they're not gone, I ran multiple.
  12. It should be acting like that, because when you run it directly you haven't provided it with patch directory, patch date or authserver IP.
  13. It is here, when Homecoming hasn't set a policy. You're trying to dictate their policy (armchair GMing) and you intend to be disruptive until they accede to your demands (extortion). Reporting in game does not mean that you want Homecoming to set an official stance, it means you want the players you report to be penalized for it. By all means demand a public stance, but don't do by being hostile to other players and a pest to GMs. PS. If you're so concerned about Disney, start the policing with yourself and your own avatar - recoloring an image of Darkwing Duck does not make any less infringing than the original.
  14. Oh hell no. Way too much stuff to grab manually. Some form of automation would be necessary to just grab the pages from the archive, and if you're doing that you might as well use a DOM parser to scrape the details of each post into a proper database.
  15. If you're on a budget I would advise buying used rather than new. You're looking for Windows 7, a dedicated GPU that's about equivalent to modern entry-level (a GTX 750 Ti would be A-OK though perhaps not quite max everything), dual core with hyper-threading (Core i3, a quadcore such as Core i5 would be better but not mandatory), some 4 gigs of RAM. SSDs are optional but HIGHLY recommended - you don't need much space for COH, and with a small 128-gig SSD your load times would be greatly reduced compared to loading the game from hard drive. Put this together and you've got a tidy rig that can run COH perfectly well and way more besides that.
  16. That's the purpose served by the Archetypes forums: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/board,36.0.html
  17. I do... what you're observing are perfectly normal idle and load temperatures. If your system went close to 90 under load, then you'd have cause for concern.
  18. I'd expect around a gigabyte, quite possibly more if the forum was particularly long-running or busy such as the official forum for an eight year run of a popular MMO
  19. Actually no. From the normal player's perspective, what you should be doing is campaigning for the change you want through the forums or Discord, not by wasting GMs' time with your armchair GMing. Leave them to take care of players who have actual problems .
  20. Also, apparently there might be issues with longer passwords... make sure the password for your game account is 15 characters or less.
  21. The GMs have not announced any policy regarding such characters. There's no point in flooding them with reports because you think something ought to be made policy when it's not.
  22. You just delete the directory you installed the game to. There are some configuration settings stored in your system registry, but those are irrelevant unless you run the game and/or Tequila again.
  23. limited use, but very high utility considering how many players have no idea how to access registry and freak out at the very idea.
  24. The graphics settings are stored in your system registry, see Silk's thread on location. You can try exporting them from one machine and importing to another.
