I do not feel the need to dunk on you. I'm open to feedback, as long as you can provide it in a constructive manner.

Lots of nice people spent lot of time trying to explain you that your offhand estimations are based on flawed tools used out of context.

They even offer you nice "exit door" by assuming you did not know or do mistakes.

Is it so hard just to write :"it's ok, i did not know x and y and i will take a look at this, thank you."

But to be honnest, i m now sure that's just a waste of time and you just troll YOU are the first to randomly throw numbers out of nowhere in our faces with no proof like recorded runs and you are the one asking to lot more insightfull people than you to prove their point.

So let's go back to the begining : i say that you are wrong and you mislead people for some reasons.

So now, show us the builds and record of your pylons runs or it never happened.

  2. This build seems very solid, for the /bio part. Clever decision about the barrier and the procs on rad attacks are smart choices.

But Atomic blast with only 20 DPa Oo.

    Is it because it's a hold ?

    That's very low :x

It's like 75% of the DPA of the "All Mighty" power "punch" on (only) 10 targets with 100% hold mag 3 for (only) 11,92 seconds. And on a set with no other hold.

At this point, it's not balancing, it's killing an AT 😕

I did quite a bit of testing of Sentinel Damage, Blaster Damage, and Corruptor damage at the incarnate 50+3 level. Here is what I found:

The highest single target DPS Sentinel that I was able to build was a Fire Blast/Bio Armor sentinel. My attack chain for this sentinel was Blaze --> Fire Ball --> Flares --> Fire Blast. In absolutely perfect conditions this resulted in 197 DPS at a cost of 5 EPS (endurance per second). This was with the following: Offensive Adaptation, Muscular Core Paragon, Degenerative Core Flawless, Assault Radial.

Aim was available relatively often, ~33% of the time. When Aim was up, my DPS reached 269 DPS with the same attack chain. I experimented with adding Char to the DPS chain and this increases the average dps by about 5, but then I sacrificed the ability to trigger opportunity.

My Fire Blast/Storm Summoning Corruptor deals 270 DPS at 5 EPS without considering any of the storm summoning skills. That doesn't factor in scourge. The attack chain here is Blaze --> Fire Ball --> Flares. (Blaze --> Fire Ball --> Fire Blast works as well for 267 DPS and 5 EPS). Incarnates are Musculature Core Paragon, Degenerative Core Flawless, Ageless Core Epiphany, Assault Radial.

With Scourge included, the same attack chain of Blaze --> Fire Ball --> Flares deals 296 DPS. When Aim is added, the DPS climbs to 331 DPS with the same attack chain. Again, this is without any of the storm summoning skills.

If I include the storm summoning skills, then lightning storm adds roughly 109 DPS and it can be stacked three times per minute. Tornado's DPS is trickier to calculate. I estimate that it adds an average of 40 DPS. The total DPS with storm summoning skills added to fire blast is roughly 663 under optimal conditions (not factoring in Aim). Practically, I rarely find that much sustained damage to be useful. I also find it difficult to sustain an optimal attack chain because there are so many skills to juggle: I have to interrupt my fire blast chain to stack tornados and lightning storms every time they are available.

I am currently working on a Fire Blast/Atomic blaster. The optimal attack chain on this blaster is Flares --> Blaze --> Flares --> Fireball. This results in an average of 427 DPS for 5 EPS. Incarnates are Musculature Core Paragon, Degenerative Core Flawless, Ageless Core Epiphany, Assault Radial Embodiment.

This build has Aim every 24 seconds and Ionize every 26 seconds. With these factored in, I reach 527 DPS with the same attack chain. These numbers do not include a Blaster's stacking damage bonus from Defiance.

In summary, here's a comparison of three end-game builds:

    • Fire Blast/Bio Armor Sentinel: 197 DPS. Blaze --> Fire Ball --> Flares --> Fire Blast. (Offensive Adaptation, Muscular Core Paragon, Degenerative Core Flawless, Assault Radial)
    • Fire Blast/Storm Summoning Corruptor (no storm skills): 296 DPS. Blaze --> Fire Ball --> Flares. (Musculature Core Paragon, Degenerative Core Flawless, Ageless Core Epiphany, Assault Radial.)
    • Fire Blast/Storm Summoning Corruptor (with storms): 663 DPS. Tornado --> Lightning Storm --> Blaze --> Fire Ball --> Flares.
    • Fire Blast/Atomic Blaster (without aim, without ionize): 427 DPS. Flares --> Blaze --> Flares --> Fireball. (Musculature Core Paragon, Degenerative Core Flawless, Ageless Core Epiphany, Assault Radial Embodiment.)
    • Fire Blast/Atomic Blaster (with aim, with ionize): 527 DPS.

From this I can conclude that Sentinels at Incarnate 50+3 deal roughly 67% of the damage of a Corruptor without factoring in the Corruptor's secondary. Sentinels deal roughly 46% of the damage of a blaster without factoring in the blaster's build up.

I have issues with sentinels. Like really. I dont specialy like or dislike them but i honnestly dont know what to do of them.

BUT : you go in details and numbers, so allow me to do the same :

    - 197 dps for a sentinel "endgame" is low : blaze is mandatory in a fire rotation but flares ? really. no mind probe, smite or knockout punch ? other set as ice or psy offer tons of procs build possibilities fire will never have.

    - Blaze is mandatory in a fire rotation but flares ? really. no mind probe, smite or knockout punch for sentinels ? No Blazing bolt for blaster ? Flares is the most terrible power of fire blast. where are the juicy epic power in those rotations ?

    - All the /storm builds are extremly powerfull... when stars aligns : storm are the master of rikti pylon AKA killing something which dont move. How do you fill the enormous endurance drain of storm ? ageless ? so no clarion. I would like to see your corupter solo to do the same in almost any +4 content with no statu protection.

    - In the rikti pylon thread, one for the main rule is NO ASSAULT USED cause this incarnate with pets / summons is extremely powerfull for the the time you can use it, and allow unrealistics "builds" think to burst down a immobile target (AKA a pylon) in less than 1m30 (the time of assault).

    - That's a lot of numbers... based on what builds ? which conditions ? how do you calculate your "dps" ? do you have recorded "dps" runs ? i can come to this very forum and say :" look my sentinel does over 9000 dps" too.

     - Sentinels Blaze DPA : 130 / Blaster Blaze DPA : 170 / coruptor blaze DPA 113,9.

Using the same terrible rotation (Blaze / flares / fireball) on both sentinel and coruptor, how do you end up with more dps on the corupter than the sentinel ?

    - All coruptors secondaries will not give so much "theorical" dps, as /storm : i'm really not sure than an Empath Coruptor will "deal roughly" whatever % out of your imagination more than any sentinel build.

I'll briefly go into the rest. Assault Rifle is the most abandoned set for good reason. It's hard to use and make it "good." You can see why this is a controversial set in many other posts.

    Nice "résumé" ! 🙂

Just about AR : the no redraw costume option + tactical arrow saved AR imo : fast animations, crazy area damage, best sniper to build PPM and tactical arrow's Glue  / EMP / Ice arrows provide the tools to contain just enough the Ignite fear effect.

We have one main AR / Tactical in the sg : to give you an example : it's not possible to do the "Kitty got claws" badge in Tin mage 2 with him in the team, cause Bobcat and Neuron die almost at the same speed (if we dont "park" Bobcat far from Neuron).

If you use no redraw do the weapons autovanish when you are done attacking?

Ive always wanted to do dual pistols but the run animation is so horrible i always end up deleting

Yes, the No Redraw is awesome !

  6. Due to the nature of TW, i prefer not using a Epic / patron and having all the TW powers slotted : it allows me to have the optimized single target rotation and a full conic rotation.

The taunt is mandatory cause i use my scrapper to "tank" TF in speedruns.

  7. 1) chain of damaging Holds with 4 damage procs (both damage procs from PVP/purple set hold and ranged damage + damage proc from holds powers)

    2)  Toxins adding again toxic damage, all served during the 10 seconds of glory of a Aim slotted with a gaussian Build up (allowing to blast people with high def)

    3) /plant have a very strong mitigating tool.

    "pvp" FOTM

Now I'm torn again because I don't know how often I'll be exemping once I hit 50, and if those set bonuses are really even necessary in exemp content

it s the 100 bucks question of the game now 🙂

Dont get me wrong, i dont say that +5 builds are mandatory.

I just say that making a full attuned build at 50 NEGATES you the option to upgrade later.

By listening to idiots, people talking sh...t without self testing or justifying their own lazyness to do the long and expensive road to a full +5 build, i did the mistake to build my first "endgame build" with only attuned io (around 700 millions...)

IOs that i had to buy again when i understood that i could be more powerfull with a +5 build.

it's painfull to say the least 😛

  9. Bio armor scrapper with huge investment and/or a pocket def support can "main tank" low dif TF with ease : Bio armor have more agro tools than lots of "brute" armor as regen, sr or energy for instance.

In my very humble opinion :

Brutes are tanks with average good dps and average agro management

Scrappers are DPS able to off tank and, well gear, even tank "farmed" content.

    Thank you for the input:

    1. Guess you are talking about not having enough END recovery vs the amount of END spent on toggles

    2. 45% is the soft cap for ranged? - I find that I don't die as much with some defense

    3. I just noticed that redoing my pines to fix that (still not sure what % I need to be at for haste)

    4. I have Ring of Fire (hold), Fire cages - AOE Hold, Flashfire - AOE slow disorientate - Plus Smoke AOE - To Hit Debuff

    1) yes, cause i see no tool for endurance management : Dominators are spammy AT and endurance is often an issue. Consume, Power sink in Mu mastery, Aid Self with field medic and Ageless incarnate can all help you.

    2) 45% is the soft cap yes, and if you can play without its fine 🙂 just that if you have it, you could handle +4 content.

    3) Some AT could live without hasten but perma hasten (or very close with some Force Feedback + recharge) allow you to reuse Domination before it ends (allowing easier endurance management) and staying in "god mode" : the Destiny incarnate Ageless is priceless to help to achieve this.

    4) Ring of fire / fire cages are awesome for dps : but they are Immobilise powers not hold : they just forbid movement, not action. Flashfire was not in the main topic and Smoke tohit debuff is not that big if you face strong enemies.

On side note too, bonfire used on enemies immobilised by fire cages (to negate KB) is the highest power in DPA (Damage Per Activation) you can have in fire control.

I think you based build can be cool and fun to play but if you really cant to invest almost half a billion, you just could have more for your infamy 🙂

Hi all, i just want to thank you all for this thread.

Sadly i did my TW bio scrapper before i found this thread :x

I ll just share my +5 build, in case it could help someone.

it's a nice 1m20 average on rikti pylon with the "classic" @Kaeladin ST rotation but Built with a full aoe rotation for thrash clearing.

I tank for my team both Apex and Tin mage 2 with no major issues.

Thank you again, guys, for all those hours of testings !

PS : sorry for my old and rusty english 🙂

    So :

Scrapper TW bio (with my build having a full conic rotation for thrash clearing and able to "tank" speedrun tf)

    85 seconds.

    T4 Musculature

    T4 Ageless

    T4 Reactive

    T4 Assault (not click)

The shorter equation is just a reworked version of the one you have from the original thread. The difference is probably a rounding thing in the shorter equation.

Using 165 seconds as Time for both:

    ((30677.15+(102.26*165))/165)/(1-0.20)) = 360.22765

    ( 38343.75/165 )+127.8125 =  360.19886

    Yea, something is amiss.

    ((30677.15+(102.26*Time))/Time)/(1-0.20)) = X

    (30677.15+(102.26*Time))/Time = .8X

    30677.15+(102.26*Time) = .8X*Time

    30677.15/Time+102.26 = .8X

    38346.4375/Time + 127.825 = X

As I like a good mystery, grabbed the Power Anaylzer temp power and took a look at the pylons.

    Base HP verified at 30677.15

    Regen verified at 102.26 HP/sec

Damage resistance verified 20% to all.

That's funny. Looks like the old reworked one was wrong at least from the post I copied it from. Perhaps it was corrected later on in the thread. Granted, not by much, but accuracy rules!

Using new reworked equation of 38346.4375/165 + 127.825 = 360.22765 which matches original equation.

So half of the dps posted are "unaccurate" to stay "polite" 😛

to simplify, time and Assault or not click is the best way to have an idea, i think 🙂

Thank you! I didn't realize they don't scale

Taking care of the examplar content is fine but remember that any attuned IO cannot be upgrade later.

+5 Builds can be extremly powerfull but they must be think for a whole build +5 and to be fair, some build / AT dont benefit a lot of a full +5 upgrade.

Attuned Io will give always give you the max amplification based on the level you are : So if you are examplar to lvl 20, your attuned IO will be 25 : did you look at the diference between an io 20 and 25 ? 😉

Purple and pvp io always give their bonuses and to be honnest, attuned or not, having +5 powers and set bonuses are enough to roll on exemplar content.

Attuned are made to allow low lvl toon to use io at very low level, not to gear lvl 50 toon.

Edit : ho i forget, due to the fact purple and pvp io always give their bonuses and that purple are the biggest amplification % you can get in this game (with superiors), purple io are the best io to upgrade +5 :

( 38343.75 / time ) + 127.8125 = is the equation that should be used where time is in seconds.

So 1 min 25 sec run is 85 seconds. Total becomes 578.92 or rounding 579.

I just got a 2:45 run on my claws/bio using followup, focus, eviscerate and the +heal/-regen power from bio. 360 DPS. Not great compared to what so many others have done.

And Auroxis beat me to it.

The idea is that you fight a Rikti Pylon in RWZ and time how long it takes you to defeat it.  You then plug the time into the equation below to get you raw DPS.

    ((HP+(Regen*Time))/Time)/(1-Resistance) = Raw DPS

The numbers I have in my archives for the pylons are below, though I would appreciate some secondary confirmation that they are still accurate.

    HP=30677.15

    Regen=102.26 HP/s

    Resistance=20%

    Final equation would be:

    ((30677.15+(102.26*Time))/Time)/(1-0.20))

Post your AT, power sets, time, and DPS number below.

OK, so I made the above character on Justin and tested it out. Worked out better than I expected:

    Radiation Melee/Bio Armor Scrapper

    T4 Musculature Radial Paragon

    T4 Degenerative Radial Flawless Interface

    T4 Ageless Core Epiphany

    Hybrid Off:

    1:48
    1:47
    2:11
    2:17
    1:55

    Peaked at 1:47, 486 DPS

    Hybrid On:

    1:25
    1:40
    1:27
    1:52
    1:48

    Peaked at 1:25, 579 DPS

So, yeah. Rad Melee's pretty good, Moonbeam is pretty good, and procs are pretty good. Nice thing about Rad Melee is that it offers great AoE as well, I suspect this character could farm quite nicely.

    Nice time 🙂

I was wondering how you calculate the dps cause i end to 451,15 dps for a 1 minute 25 time using the formula on the first page.

It doesn't have to be a DC or Marvel game.  CoX wasn't.

I'm just saying, right now "superheroes are BIG" ... and if a game that's been dead and buried for almost a decade, a game that came out in 2004, can draw lots of gamers to it ...

... then maybe someone, somewhere, will decide to try making a modern superhero MMO, again.  🙂

Sure, but CoX was far from perfect too.

NC soft closed the game to have servers for theirs "so called" perfect game with Richard Garriot, Tabula Rasa.

But still, we now see the end of the "reborn honeymoon" time.

The deal will bring lot of people, but lot will not stay or just leave too.

People who didnt play CoX back in the days will not play it now, just for "old scholl" feelings 🙂

A large influx of players here, could also convince a publisher or developer that there's room for a modern Superhero MMO to succeed, even if only modestly.  Especially with the advent of the MCU and MCEU (and to a lesser extent, even the DCCU) making superheroes "mainstream popular" nowadays.

It's not likely : Bob Iger and Disney dont believe in Video Games.

We just have to see the mess that was Marvel Heroes (Online from the microsoft project to the terrible end of Marvel Heroes "Gazilion")

  18. Hi,

    1) 2,19 recovery for 1,6 endurance drain with only Victory rush, aim  for ageless recovery or condider Consume

    2) going so high in ranged defense without achieving the soft cap is a waste to me : Imo, or you reach 45 or you dont slot any defense.

    3) No hasten : you dont try to perma hasten so no Perma Domination. For a half billion build. Not worth to me.

    4) No Hard controls : A dominator without hard controls (holds / stun) is useless : if you want to do a fire damage theme toon go try a fire fire fire BLASTER.

I do think that Titan Weapons is such a strong overall set that it might simply out-damage a more carefully optimized 'proc monster', but I'm not sure I'd consider it a particularly proc-friendly set.

I think that TW should be consider as a level of damage to reach cause it seems to just outperfom any other sets.

If OP can reach the dps of TW without procs by "customized" an attack set, it would be a performance.

The Guardian AT was an experiment undertaken on Closed Beta some years ago which, I'm told, was found unenjoyable by most people. I suppose it's possible it might be revisited at some point in the future, but it's not in the cards for us right now. We wish Rebirth the best of luck with it, though.

(And before you ask - it's apparently Assault primaries with a weird combo of armor and support secondaries, or something like that.)

i would give a lot to enjoy a double support AT, i still dream of a cold / kin character
