I honestly do not believe you have run much Redside.  I have soloed it ALL many times.  I am doing so again, every contact for every arc and every side mission.  There is much evil to be done.  Yes, you work for people doing errands a lot. Welcome to the bottom of the evil corporate ladder

Agreed. I've been running a tank solo through redside, doing as much as possible and there's been times I've actually sat back in my chair and stared at the screen with wide eyes over the totally awful thing the game let me do. Sure, the lower level stuff makes you feel like a flunky, but after awhile you hit those "oh, they're not really gonna let me...oh #@$^ that guy's dead!" moments.

  2. For just badges? Sure, why not. For anything else? No thank you. I'm a SG of two, myself and my uncle. I don't want any cool items locked because we don't want to run in SG mode. We don't have the manpower to just farm for prestige. The only way I see people being cool with new stuff being locked behind a prestige cost is making prestige crazy easy to earn and the cost of items so low that it becomes a "why bother with this system in the first place" thing. I feel like a lot of returning people are looking for things the way they used to be instead of how they are now. Kinda understandable in a Stockholm Syndrome sorta way, but not at the expense of those of us who've been here for years and like our free stuff.

  3. For a first timer? I think it would be much harder than blue or red side. Everyone in Praetoria seems to have Super Reflexes and some sort of To Hit buff. Add to that what others have said and it's a pretty unforgiving place to start. I think some of us have lost our perspectives because we've been here with all the changes and new stuff, played, adapted and learned. If you've never played before, it's not where you want to start if you want to not get frustrated quickly.

    First --  new to game

Now that all the "thats not how its done" folks can stop typing....

Whats the harm in creating a knock offf toon?  Seems petty if someone spent the time to create 'Aqua man' and increased the brand that anyone would be in legal trouble.

I haven't gotten very in progression BECAUSE I keep making new heroes/villians.  The only downside I see is that the toon wouldn't surprise anyone with its powers.

Your question was answered two posts up, it's against the terms of service. If you feel the need to push that, feel free to, but you're gonna be spinning wheels and possibly banned if you keep doing it ingame.

i played a posi 1 last night, on the very first mob whilst we were waiting for the team, the tank jumped into a large mob of +1 vahzilok and died very quickly

the next few missions involved the team playing in absolute silence and not using any of their buffing powers

    a signature PuG Posi

On the flip side, I did a Posi 1 yesterday and it was like butter. Nobody got too loose cannon with things, the Vahz ambushes were handily taken care of and when the team lead asked everyone to not go to the door until we'd cleared the area around? Nobody went to the door. We even had one person ask why, which led to some of us explaining what happens. We held the door when we got there, two of us kept an eye out for the ambush and we rolled inside. Hug the wall and go left then to the other group, never an issue. When we got to the doppelgangers, we explained to the previous person that these shadows have access to powers we don't and we talked about who to take down first. We finished that TF in a shade over 29 minutes with zero deaths.

It's human nature to perceive patterns in everything.  Nothing to see here.

That sounds like something Lord Nemesis would say...hmmmm...

  7. I sometimes hit a wall with names, but usually get something I want in the end. As much as I'm sure some are tired of hearing "use your imagination", you really do need to use your imagination...well, coupled with some resources as well. www.thesaurus.com has already been mentioned and I use https://www.seventhsanctum.com/generate.php?Genname=superheronameorg  as well. Seventhsanctum lets you input some keywords, like your powersets, and generate names from there. Definitely worth a look.

  8. Communication makes every point (well, maybe not cannibalism...well, maybe for a zombie MM) relevant. I've been on teams where right from the get go the team agrees on a certain playstyle and I've been on ones that have a quick chat and change tactics midstream. Citadel is a great example as after awhile, a team that's gelling really well will say "Divide and conquer?" and we roll with that. I've also seen the teams where no communication and it becomes Keystone Cops really quickly. I find a polite way to excuse myself from those. Just a quick "Hey, mind if I stealth to the objective?" works wonders...like using your signal light in traffic. Sure, you know you can make that merge, but does everyone else? How many middle fingers can be avoided by just using your signal? Same here. Just a quick bit of communication goes a long way.

  10. For teaming, it's a mixed bag for me. Definitely more people to team with, but that also means more people that ignore "Please don't go to the door yet" and hilarity ensues. More chances to help teach folks the tricks of the trade, but also more chances for a "Don't tell me how to play" that results in teamwipe after teamwipe. Again, a mixed bag. Still enjoyable, overall though.

Aesthetically, it's wild to see so many people everywhere. I saw another person waaaaaaay out in Nerva (you know where). That NEVER happens! Atlas and Mercy (haven't done another Gold run yet) are constantly abuzz and seeing random people flying, jumping or teleporting by me is really nice to see.

Perhaps. I also think a lot of it is "get this done move on to the next ASAP" - which sometimes diminishes the game IMO. Personally I find that I enjoy games much more if the team coordinates together and works as a team. It feels more like an accomplishment

I have a friend that plays the "must speed from objective to objective" way...drives me bonkers. It's why I shy from any speed run advertised anything.
