Just spit balling here, but how about a zone that celebrates the game by using NPCs from the earlier story arcs, radio/paper missions, mayhem/safeguard missions and morality missions as contacts for new mission arcs and task/strike forces of different level ranges. Fusionette is already a trainer in this zone, so this kind of expands on that. For example, let's have the Frostfire strike force, where the former villain brings you in to help fight a mystical threat created when some Hellions fooled around with some very dangerous artifacts. (Yes, I know some players may have killed him in some vigilante tip mission, but hey, he reformed in the mission I ran 🙂 ).
  2. I think a boost target count IO would be interesting to consider. Would probably need to be a small boost and a Unique, but I'm wondering how that would impact some builds.
  3. I think if the targeting window just gave a little more info about the other players powers without having to dig down into menu options then there wouldn't be a need for generic visuals. That way you get the info quickly and the chance to appreciate the other users design choices.
  4. The three Bio Armor Adaption powers have horrible auras with no minimization options. I'm somewhat OK with the rest of the minimization options in the power set, but these effects drive me nuts, especially since they obscure other powers/auras. For self-impacting powers, I think the power tray provides enough feedback to inform the user that the powers are active. Your mileage may vary however. For powers cast on you, I'd like to see a brief power impact effect, but nothing too long lasting. The problem here is that the status icons are too small to read quickly, at least to my eyes, so I think we need a different mechanism for discerning which key buffs are on you. Perhaps an optional row of larger "armor/buff" icons might work.
  5. An older arc I like is The Terra Conspiracy. It tells an interesting story that progresses with each mission and gives more details about an enemy group. I think if it was polished up with a better character model for end-boss Terra and adding a few of the newer mission mechanics to spice things up it would be a go-to arc people would enjoy playing. Adding mission content that showed Terra's transformation in stages instead of off-screen mission text would add a nice touch of body horror to the arc.
  6. I just ran through and really enjoyed the Shauna Stockwell (The Superadine Ring) and Eagle Eye (Lords of Death) Skulls story arcs in Kings Row. Paragon Wiki indicates that these were I24 arcs and this was the first time I've run through them. The antagonists are more than simple generic bad guys and they make effective use of the mission features that they were using more in the late game. The Skulls story line is not finished with these arcs, with a number of threads still to be resolved. I'd be interested in seeing this story finished up. I figure at least one more story arc and a new task force could be created, assuming that the content would stay in the under level 20 range.
  7. One thought about new ATO sets: it might be necessary to treat them more like the power pools and limit the number of ATO sets you can choose to use in your build. So as each AT has two now, if a third set could be available then you'd have to decide which two of the three is best suited to your build or desired play style.

  9. It will be interesting to see how well this plays in higher level groups. In my experience I've tended to only occasionally use my support powers in these circumstances, so the build/consume mechanic in this set might not be fully utilized. You might end up spamming builder powers to little benefit to the team just to build the static charges. In this case, I think Shock needs to do enough damage/debuff to be a useful part of the attack chain.

  11. How about Surge Protection? (I'm perfectly fine with punny names) I'd like to see a poll to help narrow down name candidates. It doesn't have to be binding - the HC team could make the final decision, but it could be a fun community exercise.

  13. I'm pretty consistently running into a client crash when using the Auction House user interface. When I'm repeatedly pulling purchased items from the UI, it will sometimes crash with this error message: Unfortunately, the City of Heroes client encountered an unexpected error and must close. I did the Vigilante arc on my Street Justice/Willpower Natural Stalker, so up front I have to say that the story line and Family+Police foes were just the right fit thematically for this character. It's nice to have a mission story arc that fits this type of character. I didn't even mind the addition of the special guest star in the final cut scene. Regarding the branching decision at the end, I think using "I'm here to kill you" as the player character line is too literal. Yes it makes it clear that the choice is too kill the bad guy or turn him over to the cops for a lesser charge, but I think something a little more melodramatic would do as well. This could be a good place for a cheezy line straight ought of a 80s Schwarzenegger movie. Going further back in time, I loved the role Detective Hutchins played and his dialog. Regarding the police ambush, I was able to get out, but if larger mob size spawned I'm sure the glue grenades would have slowed me down too much. If defeated in that map, do you wake up in the jail? And the Avenger badge art was great.
