  1. For Halloween season, I've made characters based on classic monster types: Frankenstein's monster, mummy, black cat, pumpkin-head, witch, ..... For Winter, I've done more winter/cold themed than holiday themed. Usually don't get a chance to level them up all the way, so I let them sit when the season's over until next year unless I'm really enjoying them.
  2. New foes for the Halloween event has been on my wish list for a long time. Glad to see them added!
  3. The Back Alley Brawler task force would be the final chapter of the Kings Row Skulls storyline. If you haven't played through that, I recommend it.
  4. Sonic/Inv or Sonic/WP Sentinel, pick your favorite armor costume pieces for the Iron part.
  5. New idea: there should be "tunneling" alternate animation/effects for teleport: You drop down into the earth and pop up at your target! Just like Bugs Bunny!
  6. The Envoy of Shadows arc has a hunt mission that is god awful painful. If I miss the last two items, tucked away in some cursed corner of a monster Orenbega map, I'll drive myself crazy and more than a little motion sick running around looking for it. Once I get motion sick, that's it for the day. Maybe this worked if a full team of 8 was playing the mission and the frustration could get spread out, but solo, ugh. Just think how many of the older story arcs would be more enjoyable if these missions were revamped or if we had a way to expedite the search.
  7. In my daydreams I've imagined that the end point of the incarnate system would be unlocking the Omega Slot and having corresponding Omega level content/foes to go with it. What would the Omega slot do? It would unlock the Omega Origin enhancements (Oh-Oh's) that would only work in Omega builds and Omega content. The other goal of all this is to have a place to go crazy with enhancement or enhancement set design without breaking the rest of the content. This sounds like it might fit in well as option in my fever dream system.
  8. There should be a random immediate surrender mechanism added to the game 🙂
  9. I leveled a KM/Shield scrapper up to 50, hated the experience so much I haven't touched it since. Agree with poor mechanics of its build up power. One key issue with the slow animations is that it makes a KM character feel like a dead weight on teams. Other team members will kill your targets before you contribute. One shouldn't have to run off on their own during team activity.
  10. Slightly off topic, but my wish list includes a new Back Alley Brawler task force to finish off the Kings Row Skull story line.
  11. I like this and wish Sentinels had their secondary designed this way.
  12. I thought this was a setup for a joke. 🙂
  13. I think slow is being underrated in these discussions, I find it very useful in keeping foes from attacking me as they spend their time slogging into melee or back into range position. Paired with a damage patch and you disrupt their ability to attack quite a bit. As far as status effects slowing down kill rates, I look at it this way: having yourself or team mates killed by the mobs slows things down quicker. Not everyone plays a melee armor class.
  14. The Enhancement conversion window is a UI nightmare, specifically the "In Set Conversion"/"Out of Set Conversion"+Rarity/Category dropdown. Change this to be simple 3 radio buttons: "In Set", "Rarity", and "Category", plus a text field that shows the rarity or category value of the input enhancement. Please. My wrist begs you.
  15. These random locations were sometimes useful. The Brickstown drop off near the entrance of Crey's Folly is useful during the Manticore task force for the hunt 40 crey mission, as it has lower level crey mobs. The new portal/drop location drops you off in the middle of the zone around level 35 and higher Crey. There are other mission arcs that make the original location useful. I don't suppose its possible to have multiple drop locations/beacons per zone? Seems like a lot of work went into this that might have been better spent revamping the mission spawns of the legacy task forces.
  16. Sentinel would be fire/fire ala the Human Torch and the stats appear to back this up.
  17. For October, I'm doing classic Halloween characters with power sets that I haven't played so far in Homecoming: A black cat Claws/Willpower Scrapper A Jack O'Lantern pumpkin headed Fire/Fire Sentinel A mummy Broad Sword/Energy brute A witchy water/dark corruptor A Frankenstein monster Electric/Super Strength tanker A ghostly dark control/dark assault dominator I may create some more as the mood strikes. Obviously a werewolf is called for, but I've played most applicable sets and am thinking about how to put a different spin on it.....
  18. I think this is a fun thought experiment. Here's my two cents on the concept: First cent: It would probably make sense to divide powers into random primary and secondary pools. Primary powers random pool: melee damage, ranged damage, control, assault Secondary powers pools: armor sets, manipulation, support sets Not included: Mastermind primaries - I just don't think the pets would work out for anyone if the buff powers are missing. 2nd penny: The powers would have to be assigned to tiers: Primary tier 1 would consist of light attacks, immobs, tier 2 would be medium attacks and single target holds, and so forth. You would still have lots of opportunities for random weirdness, but just might get something playable out of it.
  19. Got in. I want to thank the team for the behind the scenes infrastructure work. To me, its as critical as feature updates.
  20. Are you using the 64-bit client? If you have the hardware to support it, there is a definite zone load time improvement when it is used.
  21. Enhancement converter roulette - you win if you convert a tray full of worthless rares to a tray full of good rares with no re-rolls. Or you can play with the opposite goal - after spending 10 converters you still have a tray full of junk.
  22. I agree with other posters that a change in the ambient daytime lighting in the dreary zones would be a nice quality of life upgrade. Even if it alternated with the current overcast days. I don't think this will recruit a lot of players to the zones by itself, but I imagine if the Isles had a tourism board, it would be on the top of their list and they'd be recruiting some mad scientists types to work on it. 🙂 Content wise, I think the zones should be used as the starting point to promote content from AE to the actual game. This could be used to address a number of issues that players have with the current mission sets. I personally don't have that high of a bar for what should be promoted. If it's equal or better than existing content, it should be a candidate. I'd also like for people to start leveling as Rogues or Vigilantes from level one. Use the promoted AE content for rogue or vigilante contacts. Much of the existing villain content would map well to a rogue or vigilante character.
  23. This was a problem I ran into when trying to slot my dominator. I ended up slotting with damage sets. I'd like to recommend that a third possibility would be a set leaning toward a balance between dmg/hold/recharge, possibly with +recharge as the 5/6 set member bonus.
  24. I think the performance of the AH is fragile enough that we should avoid adding any more database queries to it. A configurable fixed amount to check against for bids is suitable option.
