  1. To have the official written sanction and permission of NCSoft, the rights owners.
  2. G' Kar was the best Jesus figure ever. No contest.
  3. Yes. Even better, add actual DEF into the mix for true multi-layered protection.
  4. But we're exhausting because we're passionate. WE want it to be a success. I think this is a strength of the community, and the fact that MOST of the time we can keep it fairly civil even with disparate opinions.
  5. This is one truth about CoH that's not necessarily true of others MMOs: ANY team structure will work, with the right strategy. You NEVER "have to have X" or "shouldn't have Y" on your team. They designed the AT system well so that all times, all ATs contribute just fine to ANY team. So, play whatever you want, and have fun with it. Because, in the end, that's the point of a game, to have fun, right?
  6. The only limits in this game - are your imagination... ...and 4GB of physical RAM, since it was written in a 32-bit environment. 😢
  7. Oh I don't know, I learned a ton from the game. Like how far a level 50 can knock a level 1 Hellion across Atlas Park...
  8. I use Short Circuit - Power Sink myself. Works beautifully.
  9. That was just the first one that I thought of... how about these juggernauts that are nonprofits providing software to the public at large? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_Foundation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozilla_Foundation
  10. Tex also mixed up primaries and secondaries...
  11. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TechSoup
  12. I agree with KB-KD on Repulsion Bomb, but NOT Force Bolt. It's single target, so I think it's perfect to use in a precise manner to knock a single enemy exactly where I want them. But, to each their own.
  13. I always used TOs up until DOs became available, then I used those. That's when I stopped and didn't mess around with SOs as soon as IOs became reasonable to me (about level 15). Then I went ahead and just used IOs. From the money I could earn through the market just selling my drops, I NEVER had any issue affording what I want, until I hit level 50 and wanted purples, that is...

    Market Fees

One man's trash and all that. I'm a walking paradox. I hate numbers, but I LOVE data. So weird.
  15. Data is priceless.

    Market Fees

Speaking of nerds, FWIW, I'm going to start to keep track of my "earnings" on this Google Sheet, for anyone to see that's interested: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nEPtNQRZpFcDQaRMzhd8mcMbMhJ567S-BF_nk91eKGg/edit?usp=sharing
  17. I honestly feel like the game overall is fairly balanced all the way around and has a good leveling curve, except for a slog between roughly level 30ish and level 41 when you start to get your Epic Powers. After those epic powers and the more "interesting" content available level 40+, it doesn't feel like the "same old same old". If the Devs could focus on anything going forward with the game, my opinion is that rather than looking at systems that appear to be functioning "fine", they should look into new content for levels that might be a bit sluggish/uninteresting to get through. The early game is fine, with how quick you level and get powers etc, as well as Going Rogue adding TONS of early game content. The "end game" (40-50) seems just fine to me and perfect as it is, and the Incarnate system could be developed literally forever, because that's the way that it's designed. But there's that gap in the middle that just seems... lackluster. Of course, all of this is just my opinion.
  18. They also setup an LLC fairly early on, if I remember right - before they started publicly taking donations. Which, if I recall correctly, means that for them personally, there's now no more risk of loss to them. The worst that NCSoft could do is to tell them to shut down, and take all of the monies that HC has raised so far that haven't already been used. LLC protection (unless I'm mistaken) means that no member of the HC team is personally liable anymore, instead, it's the "Homecoming LLC company" that's liable, as if it was a person. Which I think is BS, and a HUGE reason why so many things are going wrong in our society, but that's a whole different discussion.
  19. Placebos actually do work.
