The patch notes said the change was to fix income inequality, not inflation. which it didnt do. -

Thats why you form a channel so as to talk to other AE purists and tout your own works. Nothing is stopping you. Probably be a good way to discuss unusual twists and mechanics. -

That would be Jimmy that brought up income inequality. He(and the dev team) have decided its a problem, not the farmers. Is there a problem with the existence of the large amounts of inf or the distribution? evidently the gap between farmers and nonfarmers was a problem, but the gap between marketeers and non marketeers was not(a far larger gap). That is what is being questioned. Farming is the most efficient method of inf creation, marketeering is the most efficient method of influence gain. -

I am trying to figure out how to get 200 mill(or even 100mill) in 20 min of farming. I kinda think the totals have been self inflating a bit on both sides. Maybe I'm not that good a farmer? -

We already have that fairness. If you kill 1 lvl 50 boss at +0 you get x inf. if you kill the same boss at +4 you get x+y inf. If you kill 100 of the same boss at +4 you get 100(x+y). Its the same for everyone. its fair. -

there are several ways to get rid of currency. I suggested 1 of them. another could be selling the permanent costume from live like the freakshow boss or the carnie mistress for 500 mill each. thats a quick billion gone from each account thats gets them. -

So you are saying that this change had no purpose? "who cares"? -

They said they were addressing "income inequality". This change really didnt affect that. It changed inf generation but that wasnt the reason for the change. Good or bad can be debated, but that isnt the actual question. The income gap didnt change. Are marketeers just hoarding their banks? are farmers just hoarding their banks? Are their 10s of thousands of toons sitting there with 20 mill + or - sitting there that havent logged on in 6 months? Inflation happens when too much liquid cash is in circulation. We have various opinions as to what prices will do in the next few months and the AH last 5 prices tool is not very helpful. Just think if you had to bid on what your groceries would cost when you got to the cashier. One of the issues is the 2x xp/zero inf tokens. They act as a deflationary force because they prevent inf generation. Maybe make something like that that makes a 50 get more incarnate and vet xp and drops in exchange for 50% inf generation? That would reduce inf generation while still giving a valuable reward. -

This is still not real life. The exploit needed fixing. This did nothing to change the fact that there is a huge pool of inf(not money by the way, influence) existing that this change did nothing to reduce. As a way of reducing cash inflow it did pretty good. As a way of fixing the problem of characters with huge inf totals it did nothing. And all of the economic metrics, non of which measure "fun", can address whether the change affected fun or not. He values his fun more than he values your economics and vice versa. thats why you will never agree. -

No confusion or bitterness at all, marketers do have the larger balances within the game, by a lot. just how it is. They arent evil or misguided or anything like that, its just what they do. If the devs really gave a damn about inflation, they would lower the amount of cash in the game. That would curb inflation. Whether its by pruning bank accounts or selling 50 billion inf maguffins. either will have a net effect of removing significant amounts from the economy. what drives the prices is when "Bob" with the 175 billion wants that armageddon proc. there are 5 available and the price posted is 70 million, much more than they are worth. But Bob wants it now and bids they 75 million. the next guy sees the list and historic prices are now 75 million, so he forks it over, you have inflation. Those are just made up numbers, no Bobs were harmed in the making of this post. -

the level 49 abuse was a normal exploit fix. elimination of turning off xp to get double inf was NOT an exploit fix, that was a nerf. The devs just used the cover of the exploit fix to push it through without any input. -

Large pools of inf causes inflation. 1000 farmers generating inf that they arent spending dont cause inflation. People with large pools of cash that are willing to pay any amount to get what they want causes inflation. Marketeers cause what we need to cost more by buying cheap and selling high. So prices rise. That is inflation. cutting out those existing huge pools of inf would cause people to stop spending inf at exorbitant price points. Halving inf gain will do NOTHING to stop people with existing oceans of cash from using that cash and raising prices. The 100 people with a net worh of 30 million or less dont matter, it is the people with 40 billion that are driving the inflation. -

what would help the economy would be for the devs to run a script that across the board deletes 50% of every toons inf. 75% if that toon has more than 1.75 billion. This change will do nothing for inflation, there is too much cash out there already and the marketeers that have most of it wont be giving it up. everyone would feel the pain so no one would feel left out. -

Part of it is that many of them built a character to work at level 50. exemp down too far and the character isnt near as effective. -

I would love to see them look at Katie Hannon TF. The live devs way over nerfed it and now it hardly gets done. -

actually it doesnt. When i am at work making money, chevys dont show up in my garage, and I dont hope for a lambo to drop. There is no omnipotent being that can change what everyone makes with a simple database change. And no one does the work of 8 men, at a run, and gets 8 salaries. While 2 of his neighbors kids stand at the door and earn a college degree. -

I would love to see an increase in the market fee for any sale over 10 mill. Triple the WW fee. That would help reduce inflation. -

What will happen is a reduction in those large prize costume contests and giveaways. Less largess given to the lowbies. I view that as a net loss for the game. On my first day on Infinity server someone saw me in Atlas and gave me 50k. It was amazing and let me go into the game and find out just how fun it could be. -
