  1. They will most likely be using those merits to build the character, they dont have a supply stashed away. and they dont get the merits until AFTER they do the SS tf. New players barely have money for so's. Even if they are torching their merits for cash, they wont have nearly enough to blow it all on 1 10 million travel power that you have to wait 10 min for it to be ready again.
  2. not really. most level 40 toon do NOT have an extra 10 million to burn. not if you expect them to be enhanced too.
  3. If you dont expect them to do tf's, no. They will just be the slow guy in any task force.
  4. for another 10 million each character. new players do not have that kind of cash. kinda pricey to get back a little of what we have now.
  5. Unfortunately, all blasters arent 50 with a full load out of IO sets. Blasters ARE squishy, unless you build for defenses, which takes away a lot of your damage options.
  6. The simplest fix would have been 1 power modeled on oro that replaces the /enter. it would have solved all stated problems. Are there additional things being addressed here that have not been talked about? It kind of looks like that is true. If there are, fine. That is just the way it looks.

  8. And the fix he was referencing allows them to fix the exploit and replace the functionality with 1 power. everyone wins. Unless there were other reasons not previously mentioned? inf sinks etc.
  9. start selling costume powers like the carnie ring mistress or the freakshow boss. they dont effect power in any way but are worth dropping some inf on. taking away travel option to make an inf sink is lame.

  11. a brute does 90% of the damage of a blaster and does so indefinately. He runs in aoe'ing and its business as usual. a blaster does more damage for 30 seconds before inspecting the carpet. running in and AOEing will result in too much agro and carpet inspection. in a vacuum a blaster does more damage, but enemies attack back. with our secondaries becoming less useful, we will end up inspecting floors more.
  12. I am going with taking their word about the exploit, I will assume its there, I am not at all good about ferretting these things out. Teleport will be changing and that is a simple fact. They wont be backing off of this and that is fine, it isnt worth arguing about. Lets talk and see if there is anything we can do to make it a smoother, better change. Currently it doesnt look like there will be any chance for discussions about making the change less cludgetastic. It looks like plans were made before most players were even in the loop. hopefully they can be refined to something better. Currently we have people giving some nice ideas and people telling you that you just need to play City of Teleport to keep your current mobility. Nothing can really change until the devs put out a patch or 2 and maybe we can have a dialog. Lets just stay civil and let things simmer, nothing will be happening any time soon. edit: I found what the exploit is and it needs to be fixed. rather badly actually. this change will be happening, lets work together to make it not painful.
  13. Is the cost a possible discussion point? 10 mill per character is kinds steep, especially for a new toon you arent sure will work for you. Quantity discount?
  14. I agree, its not a pvp nerf. there are some that will never believe that is what I am saying. But no matter, I just want the best solution we can get, not just a tough luck live with it solution. I think that there have been some awesome suggestions made. I dont like posters telling us to stop giving workable solutions and "just test what you have been given". If the devs want good feedback, there is some fine stuff here. Once we see the response to some of them we will know more. Hopefully the fix can be improved to suit a majority of people.
  15. I am not saying that this is because of pvp. I am stating what many people feel about that statement. no more no less. The reason for this change doesnt really matter, just what the result is.
  16. Not being snarky, but are you a player or a dev? a lot of your posts kinda read like you are a stealth dev. You come across like you have inside knowledge of the development process yet have no dev credentials. On another note, how many times in how many games have pvp nerfs been claimed to be nonpvp nerfs yet obviously only help pvp? People take that with a grain of salt. Sorry, but it happens.
  17. could be why blasters die so much. 1 stun and bye bye. Doms have mez protection. If you want blasters to melee, give them even a little mez protection. For years we were told that range was a blasters defense.....not so much it would seem. No other AT should do as much damage as a blaster. Blasters traded defenses for more damage....and then they took away the more damage.

  19. you have the ability to make the mission +4. you simply refuse to do it and want to get the devs to make everyone conform to your preferences. I would rather have more options, not less to satisfy someone perfectly able to do it for themselves.

  21. There is a simple way to get lower level event teams....form them. I find people all levels in the game standing around with their hands in their pockets. They wont form teams.

  23. now there is a wonderful attitude. lay off of the snarky attacks and give actual feedback? we want more players, not less.
