  1. need to make an energy blaster called antisocial distancing
  2. you already have an appendix
  3. no, actually. never played it. will it be an EM scale "nuke it till it glows and then nuke it a bit more" nerf or simply tuning a power down that is over performing?
  4. I dont think they are asking for the patch just information on the possible direction of the next patch. Are we getting sentient artichoke pets or not? Inquiring minds want to know.
  5. no, not heirlooms. actual 2x xp. There are some level ranges where leveling here becomes sorta annoying in this game, but not much. Not like wow.
  6. no xp and 2x inf was not an exploit. It was changed without notice. The exemplared patrol xp thing was an exploit. I never did that, but I did like double inf with xp turned off, so that makes me kinda sad. Oh well, I'm over it.
  7. WOW currently has a 2x xp buff, FYI.
  8. I gotta say, I like the changes.
  9. Lets be fair a lot of time and money was spent making sure Y2K wasnt doom. A lot of bad things would have happened if a lot of people hadnt made a lot of effort. Sometimes doom predictors are right. Like your mom telling you not to wait till the last second to do that school project. She was right and you ended up getting no sleep. Some people predicted higher prices, some lower, they all have excuses as to why that hasnt happened. Some of those just might be the actual reasons. You get to guess who was actually right. I'll just keep playing.
  10. You can say that about everyone. inf in the bank isnt affecting the economy. It is static, no matter if you are a farmer, marketeer or roleplayer. Players with huge accounts that see that their bid for 6 mill for that LOTG isnt hitting, raise it to 7, then 8 and are fine with paying 2 mill more than the going rate are what drives up prices. The borked purchase history doesnt help one bit with this either. I dont see any exploits, but there sure could be some improvements in the AH. edit: and the oops I put one too many zeros in that bid..ouch I am pretty sure most of us have done this a time or 2.
  11. Actually, I am pretty sure the policy is to not discuss exploits that havent been fixed. That was on live and I think the current devs have kept that policy.
  12. The patch notes said the change was to fix income inequality, not inflation. which it didnt do.
  13. Thats why you form a channel so as to talk to other AE purists and tout your own works. Nothing is stopping you. Probably be a good way to discuss unusual twists and mechanics.
  14. That would be Jimmy that brought up income inequality. He(and the dev team) have decided its a problem, not the farmers. Is there a problem with the existence of the large amounts of inf or the distribution? evidently the gap between farmers and nonfarmers was a problem, but the gap between marketeers and non marketeers was not(a far larger gap). That is what is being questioned. Farming is the most efficient method of inf creation, marketeering is the most efficient method of influence gain.
  15. I am trying to figure out how to get 200 mill(or even 100mill) in 20 min of farming. I kinda think the totals have been self inflating a bit on both sides. Maybe I'm not that good a farmer?
  16. sorry im dupin posts now..gone to the americans
  17. If you find that quick fix, patent it.
  18. We already have that fairness. If you kill 1 lvl 50 boss at +0 you get x inf. if you kill the same boss at +4 you get x+y inf. If you kill 100 of the same boss at +4 you get 100(x+y). Its the same for everyone. its fair.
  19. there are several ways to get rid of currency. I suggested 1 of them. another could be selling the permanent costume from live like the freakshow boss or the carnie mistress for 500 mill each. thats a quick billion gone from each account thats gets them.
  20. So you are saying that this change had no purpose? "who cares"?
  21. They said they were addressing "income inequality". This change really didnt affect that. It changed inf generation but that wasnt the reason for the change. Good or bad can be debated, but that isnt the actual question. The income gap didnt change. Are marketeers just hoarding their banks? are farmers just hoarding their banks? Are their 10s of thousands of toons sitting there with 20 mill + or - sitting there that havent logged on in 6 months? Inflation happens when too much liquid cash is in circulation. We have various opinions as to what prices will do in the next few months and the AH last 5 prices tool is not very helpful. Just think if you had to bid on what your groceries would cost when you got to the cashier. One of the issues is the 2x xp/zero inf tokens. They act as a deflationary force because they prevent inf generation. Maybe make something like that that makes a 50 get more incarnate and vet xp and drops in exchange for 50% inf generation? That would reduce inf generation while still giving a valuable reward.
  22. This is still not real life. The exploit needed fixing. This did nothing to change the fact that there is a huge pool of inf(not money by the way, influence) existing that this change did nothing to reduce. As a way of reducing cash inflow it did pretty good. As a way of fixing the problem of characters with huge inf totals it did nothing. And all of the economic metrics, non of which measure "fun", can address whether the change affected fun or not. He values his fun more than he values your economics and vice versa. thats why you will never agree.
  23. No confusion or bitterness at all, marketers do have the larger balances within the game, by a lot. just how it is. They arent evil or misguided or anything like that, its just what they do. If the devs really gave a damn about inflation, they would lower the amount of cash in the game. That would curb inflation. Whether its by pruning bank accounts or selling 50 billion inf maguffins. either will have a net effect of removing significant amounts from the economy. what drives the prices is when "Bob" with the 175 billion wants that armageddon proc. there are 5 available and the price posted is 70 million, much more than they are worth. But Bob wants it now and bids they 75 million. the next guy sees the list and historic prices are now 75 million, so he forks it over, you have inflation. Those are just made up numbers, no Bobs were harmed in the making of this post.
  24. the level 49 abuse was a normal exploit fix. elimination of turning off xp to get double inf was NOT an exploit fix, that was a nerf. The devs just used the cover of the exploit fix to push it through without any input.
