  1. That...really has nothing to do with what was done. If farmers flood the AH with ridiculous prices, they won't sell at all, or certainly not quickly. The SO change is going to be a huge quality of life fix for low level players who want a cheaper "good enough" option. As has been said multiple times, the game is (and had better stay) balanced around SOs, so IOs while you may feel they are "the way of life" they are not required, nor should they ever be. What was done was a (relatively easy) fix to an exploit that's had it's roots in the game for a LONG time, and the implications across the economy are going to end up a net positive by the end, despite what some cry.
  2. Or someone who works with/for your SG, etc. Hell your "young ward" might even bring it to you.
  3. Worth noting that the AH is cross-shard, in case people don't know, or aren't sure. There's one big (mostly) connected market as long as nothing breaks.
  4. Right, you disagree. I don't think AE should have XP (or at least should be capped on the amount you can earn, either per-level or per-24 hour period) to make it more realistic to a "training environment" for an up and coming Superhero. You can't do everything in the simulator. That's just me. My suggestion is only slightly more likely to get implemented than many of the others in this thread, such as removing converters, etc. That's my point. Everyone feels "their way" is the "right" way to play. That's why we have double XP boosters. You can have a 2XP Weekend anytime you want, that was not an option on live. Run DXP and you'll be through those levels very quickly. You won't make any inf, but you rarely do at those levels anyway. Just wanna put this out there. SCORE != Homecoming, they are not the same team, per-se, and referring to Homecoming as SCORE is slightly disingenuous. That's a great "My Cousin Vinny" reference, thank you!
  5. Any of the three sound fine, but Resurgent makes the most since given the era we're moving into, and the last issue released, and tying the old with the new. The other one I liked from early voting was "Sunrise" (as a toss-back at NCSoft for "Sunset" terminology) since we're "Sunrising" the game now.
  6. Gonna vote a big hard pass on "new easier way to make inf" as if this game isn't one of the easiest MMOs ever made already, and was before it was revived. As for new content, I'm all for that.
  7. Which is what we've been trying to tell everyone, starting with Jimmy who said you "wouldn't see much impact to your bottom line". Maybe not, but since many people are giving their OPINIONS as to what they WANT and pushing their AGENDAS versus facts, I figured I might as well throw mine in as well. Torch the AE XP, it's a danger room simulator. Maybe cap it to n amount per 24 hours. I.e. "you can only learn so much in here, Jubilee, now get out there and Hero. Come back tomorrow and practice more" (dev choice arcs would of course be immune to the system, those would be treated as "real" arcs, more or less).
  8. Bingo. Exactly. They know what they're doing, and they're doing it on purpose to misinform and push their agenda...like certain politicians do. They should have. They probably would have had to solve the problem eventually, and may have done it a different way, but it would've been done, I can be relatively certain of that. Keep pushing that agenda, it won't get you anywhere. That is patently incorrect. Doing ANYTHING on the market doesn't CREATE any currency, it moves it, and in fact, removes 10% of it. It was related to an exploit, and exploits are not mentioned or discussed until fixed. Alone it won't "solve" the problem, but it will certainly make a big dent. Re: Patrol XP, answered below. Regarding whoever said "a small group of people controlling the game"--you mean like the small number of Devs and Admins who controlled the live servers? No, because patrol XP also impacts people who make use of rested XP, and the entire day job system, which ads a lot to badging and RPing, you impact far more systems overall. AND the purpose was to reduce influence gain across the board, and one of the biggest ways to do it was to close it via the Exemplar Influence boost. That boost should've been removed prior to i9 once the game developed a "real" economy. When all anyone was doing was paying for costume changes, DOs and SOs and Insp type items, giving it to friends/SG mates via trades and paying out for costume contests, it had little real value, so it didn't matter. That's how it was on live, and IMO how it should be here, I've said that quite often. I kind of wonder if it won't end up that way, to be honest...
  9. IOs are NOT always better. They don't become strictly better until the 30s or above. Cost effective maybe, but..what do you really need that Inf for anyway? Personally I'll take greened out SOs over IOs before 32 (i.e. 35) myself. I don't have issues with price changes, but I feel they're fine as-is also. Could be because the servers are on UTC.
  10. Yeah...I hope this is a troll. If not, you're grossly misunderstanding the situation (like many seem to be) That would make everything *worse* not better. Either 1) you're massively uninformed 2) you just selfishly want converters cheaper for yourself/to spite others or 3) You have an agenda you're trying to push, which would destabilize and damage the game and the economy. I HOPE it's the first one, SUSPECT it might be the second...and WORRY it might be the third.
  11. I feel similarly to you. I'm wondering if a "Half-XP" option wouldn't be a good middle ground for not gaining XP too fast and out-levelling stuff, while still actually gaining some (at no change to Influence or drops or anything)? (Not that you can't use Oroborous, but not everyone wants to--plus you can't access the system till around 30). Uh no. I'm fairly sure all the rest of the "regular" players in the game are generating the majority of the influence just playing as "normal" and running missions, selling salvage/drops and occasionally putting something on the market (which takes some Inf out of the system anyway).
  12. It will, will just take time. Hey look, he was finally right about something...
  13. It happens on occasion, but the HC devs have always been good on nailing it fairly quickly, especially compared to live CoH. This woudln't really make it more or less likely to happen though. I think "for some reason" Marketing was considered part of the game somewhere around Issue 9: Breakthrough (I'm not sure *WHY* that would be). Somewhere around May 1st, 2007. To most of us, it was a Tuesday.
  14. I would suggest playing if you want to play, and not if you don't. Where we're headed? Only the Shadow err...Devs know, and when they feel like telling us, they will. The exploit is fixed, most people are fine, we'll watch for the long-term changes and the devs will react as needed I'm sure. The complaining is a vocal minority. There's no answers to wait for, unless you just like waiting.
  15. That would actually be a great idea I'd support. Would be good for some of my RP characters I don't want to level too fast, or if I want to do more arcs. I'm gonna go out on a limb and post the age-old Dev answer: "When it's ready." It'll save Jimmy and Six the trouble. 😛
  16. Yup, that's when you know what he *really* wants...then you're afraid.
  17. Me neither, but that would require unlock methods, as well as a new interface for the costume slot system, since I think we're at the limit to what the original interface can display. That would take some time and dev work to re-do, at minimum.
  18. That and "Raemes T. Quirk" from Space Quest 5 (Roger's asshole captain) looks exactly like Sternn from Heavy Metal (and his name is a play on James T Kirk). This was prior to Zapp's creation. https://spacequest.fandom.com/wiki/Raemes_Tipper_Quirk
  19. You tell these people this over and over, but it never seems to sink in...heh.
  20. Actually, some of us are praising the skygods for saving the economy. Merit/time is likely going to be looked at as well, I'd suspect. It certainly will be one *step* on the road to fixing stuff. That last paragraph was entirely uncalled for.
  21. I do mine at 35 IOs (so level 32) but came concept. I find IOs aren't really flat "better" until 35, and also 32 is when you get your final primary powerset power, so it's often a good time for reslotting and checking. I agree with both of these things.
  22. The more he says it, the more I think he believes it might be true. It's funny watching the Eval Kineval-style leaps these farmers make. Members of the Cirque du Soleil couldn't make the contortions it takes to reach these backward conclusions. It's truely impressive. It really is. Which is exactly what some people in this thread want, it's part of the agenda.
  23. TOs yes, DOs no. You slot DOs in where TOs used to go, and SOs in where DOs used to go, then you have IOs to go up to later. Removing both would be a mistake. You can still slot up with dropped DOs (or use them for a far better money source than TOs ever were, and it'll help mitigate the other inf changes). While working slowly toward your SOs.
  24. You are entitled to your opinion. You are also entitled to be wrong. In this case, both of those are currently true.
