How much in game currency do you have on hand.
Arnabas replied to Monty Haull's topic in General Discussion
I voted 1-10 million, but it was unclear if this is per character or in total. I have 50 characters, so if it's in total, then 50 to 500 million. The most I have ever had on hand on a single character was about 30 million, even playing daily from launch to sundown, and again since the game returned. I have no idea how people get so much influence. -
I have never really been one to chase numbers and have instead played according to what feels fun, but I am trying to decide between a Blaster and Corrupter for a character concept I have. I don't usually do this, but today I was looking (in character creation) at damage values. I was using Electrical Blast. Now, I have always believed that Blasters do more damage, but looking at Electrical Blast, it gave higher "Average Damage" on each power to the Corrupter but lower damage in the details that followed. Example: Blaster Charged Bolts. Avg Damage: 12.30/ 8.20 energy damage on target Corrupter Charged Bolts. Avg Damage: 20.90/ 1.90 energy damage on target. So, does the higher Average Damage (if the values are even correct) reflect Scourge? Or is it something else, perhaps an error?

I haven't played my gravity controller for some time, but having used him recently, I notice that Singularity seems to have changed. Rather than repelling enemies (great for keeping me safe when solo), it pulls everyone closer (great for killing me when solo). I'm guessing that the rationale for this was to make it more team-friendly, but it's less helpful to me now as a solo player. I'm wondering if there are any plans to continue adjusting it. Maybe something could have been done using Knockback to Knockdown, rather than (seemingly) eliminating the Repel?

I've come to realize it's a fairly decent hold (with Cryo) if you get it to recharge fast enough and you're focusing on one target.

I am taking another shot at playing a DP blaster. Overall, I think the set feels pretty average, but I am sticking with it for the character's concept. I am curious to know if anyone uses anything other than the Incendiary ammo. I guess the Chemical and Cryo would be useful against those with specific weaknesses, but the secondary effects seem rather uneven. Incendiary gives DoT, which is always useful, even if it's a small amount, but the slow and damage debuff effects from Cryo and Chemical seem pretty negligible. I can't honestly say that I notice them doing anything. And the Suppressive Fire secondary effect of Disorient/ Hold in underwhelming, lasting only 2 seconds, making it about as useful as the Fatigue effect in the fighting pool. Do these effects actually improve and become worthwhile with s;lotting or higher levels? Or do you just focus on the damage?

I didn't say they are the same damage. I said Mesmerize does more damage. And I got that idea when creating the character, where it reads that Mesmerize does an average of 19.8 and Levitate does an average of 13.07
-
I would have sworn that I saw 8 seconds on Levitate. Must be hallucinating. But for sure, it says Mesmerize does more damage.
-
I am looking at Mesmerize and Levitate, the first two powers in Mind Control. I am a bit confused at the balancing.... Levitate, the tier 2 power is: Less accurate Slower to cast Longer to recharge Has a shorter range Costs more endurance This might make sense if it was the more damaging of the 2 powers, but on top of being worse in every way, it also does less damage. It doesn't seem to match other powers. Is this intentional? Does it have advantages that are not immediately apparent?

I have a Fire/ Fire Sentinel and just picked up Cauterizing Blaze. It's supposed to be a self-heal over time, but as near as I can tell, it does nothing. I tried checking in my combat attributes, and it doesn't even show. When I injure myself to test the recovery speed, it is the same whether I have the toggle on or not. Does anyone know if this is a bug, or if there's something else going on?
-
I took a quick look for an answer but am still a bit unsure... Are the various procs working now for Interface? I remember hearing that only DoT was working but nothing else. I can't say I've noticed them working.
-
Thanks. That's what I was assuming but I wanted to be sure.

I've never really bothered with Slow powers much, so I am unfamiliar with the effects of enhancements. For a power like Time Manipulation that affects recharge times and slots Slow enhancements, do those enhancements affect recharge, or just, as the name implies, movement speed?
-
I haven't really looked into this, but does Prismatic Aether simply let you buy specific NPC outfits, or can you buy individual parts? I thought it was the former, but today I saw a character with parts that I didn't think were available, so it made me wonder if they can buy pieces.
-
My Storm Defender has Sudden Acceleration: Knockback to Knockdown in Hurricane, but it is still doing knockback rather than knockdown... Is its effectiveness based on the Enhancement level? It's level 20, so will a higher level version be more likely to do Knockdown?

I shied away from Regen for a long time because from when the game was originally live to now, I have most heard bitching and complaining about how it was nerfed, it's no good, etc. I had a character for whom it was thematically appropriate, however, so I tried it out. Not only did I find it perfectly functional, I actively enjoyed it. Later, I created a Sentinel for whom it was also thematically appropriate and found it to be perhaps even better on that AT. I'm sure it could be adjusted and modernized, but I currently have no issue with it whatsoever.

Psi Melee is cool, but I have a hard time playing it because the animations are so dull. They don't feel very dynamic.

Thanks!

Just a quick question here. Does Mind Link affect the player if they are solo. or does it only work with a team? It looks like it should still work solo, but I would like to be sure. Thanks!
-
Thanks. I had the powerset on a character some time back and I remember there being at least one power that only affected allies. I just couldn't remember which one it was.
-
Does anyone know if Wild Growth affects the caster, or is it limited to allies? I am playing this character solo much of the time and don't want to take a power that is allies-only. Thanks!
-
Does the Bane Spider Surveillance power affect the user, or just their teammates?

I finally decided to take another shot at making a Soldier of Arachnos. Now, I know it's been asked and answered that the Arachnos costume parts are exclusive to the first slot, but what I haven't been able to find out is why? I have ideas for costumes that would use standard parts, but with Arachnos bits as highlights. It's not the end of the world if I can't do it, but I am wondering at the rationale. Is it simply not possible to have them, or is it a conscious choice to limit it to only one slot? I can't think of any particular reason (other than tech issues) to restrict it, but maybe there's something I missed? The only thing I can think of is that it's an attempt to keep a fairly uniform look when using the official outfits, but alternate slots let characters look like pretty much anything they want, and we can have male "Widows" so I don't think there's an issue with Lore or anything similar...

Just curious what slotting Heal does for Summon Wolves. Does it make them heal faster?
-
Thanks. That's what I was thinking/ hoping, but I couldn't tell because the bonuses showed "from self" and "from Stealth" but the penalties just gave the value with no explanation.
-
I never really take the Concealment pool, but I have one character for whom it seems appropriate. I know that the Stealth power loses much of it's bonus when you attack, but I figured it would still offer some protection. I noticed today that it is normally 10% (I'm rounding off) but if I attack it drops to 3%. That seems reasonable, but there is also a -10% showing, so does that mean I am effectively -7% from my base defense? Meaning if I attack, they actually get something of a bonus to hit me? Or am I reading it wrong?
