  1. Just a quick question here. Does Mind Link affect the player if they are solo. or does it only work with a team? It looks like it should still work solo, but I would like to be sure. Thanks!
  2. Thanks. I had the powerset on a character some time back and I remember there being at least one power that only affected allies. I just couldn't remember which one it was.
  3. Does anyone know if Wild Growth affects the caster, or is it limited to allies? I am playing this character solo much of the time and don't want to take a power that is allies-only. Thanks!
  4. Does the Bane Spider Surveillance power affect the user, or just their teammates?
  5. I finally decided to take another shot at making a Soldier of Arachnos. Now, I know it's been asked and answered that the Arachnos costume parts are exclusive to the first slot, but what I haven't been able to find out is why? I have ideas for costumes that would use standard parts, but with Arachnos bits as highlights. It's not the end of the world if I can't do it, but I am wondering at the rationale. Is it simply not possible to have them, or is it a conscious choice to limit it to only one slot? I can't think of any particular reason (other than tech issues) to restrict it, but maybe there's something I missed? The only thing I can think of is that it's an attempt to keep a fairly uniform look when using the official outfits, but alternate slots let characters look like pretty much anything they want, and we can have male "Widows" so I don't think there's an issue with Lore or anything similar...
  6. Just curious what slotting Heal does for Summon Wolves. Does it make them heal faster?
  7. Thanks. That's what I was thinking/ hoping, but I couldn't tell because the bonuses showed "from self" and "from Stealth" but the penalties just gave the value with no explanation.
  8. I never really take the Concealment pool, but I have one character for whom it seems appropriate. I know that the Stealth power loses much of it's bonus when you attack, but I figured it would still offer some protection. I noticed today that it is normally 10% (I'm rounding off) but if I attack it drops to 3%. That seems reasonable, but there is also a -10% showing, so does that mean I am effectively -7% from my base defense? Meaning if I attack, they actually get something of a bonus to hit me? Or am I reading it wrong?
  9. A while back, I bought a new laptop. It's primarily for work, but several of the reviews I read mentioned that it's "great for gaming." I thought that odd since it's kind of a budget computer, but I figured it would be good for CoH and could serve as a means of playing on the go. When I downloaded and played the game, I was disappointed that it ran ok on the lowest settings, but anything much higher than that had a noticeable decrease in performance. I shrugged and accepted it since it was in line with my original expectation that it probably couldn't handle games, despite what the review said. I went back to one of the reviews and left a comment to the effect that the computer couldn't handle a game nearly 2 decades old, so I didn't see how they thought it was good for gaming. A few months passed and they wrote back saying they were playing modern games without issue. On a whim, I went to Steam and downloaded Red Dead Redemption 2. It played perfectly well and looked almost as good as my good quality desktop. So my question is whether there is some odd setting in CoH that I should be looking at? I can't understand how the laptop could handle RDR2, but not CoH.
  10. I always thought they could do this with motorcycles. All they have to do, really, is create your character sitting on a bike. Not very animation-intensive.
  11. So, currently, we can turn into a panther to run around. Any chance we could someday get a wolf form? I mean, wolves are in the game already. Would that be very difficult?

  14. I'll try to respond to multiple questions in one post. In terms of alignment, when I first started thinking about that particular missions, I checked in my Tips for alignment-related stuff, but had none. As I mentioned above, I thought it might be because I had 3 exploration tips and thought that they might be blocking me from getting anything else, so I cleared them, but that was followed by getting more exploration tips. Curious, I started checking my other characters, ranging in level from low 20s to mid-40s, heroes, villains, and vigilantes (no rogues). None of them had alignment/ morality tips and between the time when I started looking for them until now (about a weeks or so, playing at least 1-2 characters daily) I still haven't received even 1. That's why I thought they may have been disabled, thinking perhaps it was related to the fact that people can change alignment at will through Null.

  16. Yes, I understand that, as I have previously done alignment missions by receiving tips... My point is that I no longer get those tips. I only get exploration tips and that includes characters in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. I had thought that it was perhaps due to having too many exploration tips and that I might not have "space" to receive alignment ones, but even if I complete or dismiss the exploration tips, I just get more, without any alignment ones.
  17. I was thinking the other day about how quite some time ago (maybe 2 years?) I did a mission (I think in the low 20s) that was specifically for Vigilante characters. Just a short arc that ended, I think, in Independence Port. I only played it that one time and was interested in replaying it. It was then that I noticed that I had no alignment missions available. On any character. I can't even seem to get them. So, basically, I am wondering if they have been removed from the game, or if for some reason I just can't seem to get them?
  18. I'm not sure how they could hit like a Blaster without a blast-type power... I have looked at that combo, but the concept I have is more the archery/ attack than Trick Arrow would provide.
  19. I know it's not really the best fit because there's no good thematic match for the melee component, but I'm wondering if there might still be a possibility? Even just a few kicks or punches could be thrown in. Or maybe a smack from the bow, reusing Staff animations. I have a concept for a Plant Control/ Archery character, but unfortunately it's not possible at present I could make the concept work with Archery/ Plant Manipulation for Blasters, but the spines in Plant Manipulation are so hideous I'd never use the powerset. Unfortunately, there's no way to remove or adjust them. I'm just curious if it's ever been considered.
  20. I agree. I don't need or want this to be "ZOMG great, " but a little more functionality would be nice.
  21. All that I was trying to say is that I've long wished Triage Beacon could move and follow me. A stationary heal aura is fine for human players but it doesn't help henchmen that much in my experience, at least until after the battle when they're recovering and standing still. As a side note autocorrect just changed that to "triage bacon" and that all I can think of now.
  22. Well, since the official Robotics feedback forum is now closed, I will say here that the Maintenance Drone is the exact thing I have been hoping for.... to replace Triage Beacon....😔 One day? Please?
  23. I'll probably respec out of it soon. It's too bad because conceptually, it seemed a cool power for the character. I don't need it to be a great power, but it would be nice if it did more than drain End with no effect.
  24. Okay so there you go. I guess in the right situation it can be useful. It's just that for me, as someone who has not encountered or used the power before, it seemed kind of useless. And it still seems kind of odd that I can get it at level four or so, but have to wait until Level 50 plus for it to be good.
