You're not completely wrong that the value goes down somewhat, BUT there are defense debuffs to worry about in general so added defense guarantees you stay not only softcapped but hardcapped against difficult challenges (I may be wrong about the importance of this so feel free to correct me). Also keep in mind if you run in a group that you know well you would actually enable them to worry less about soft capping defense, everyone could respec into more offensive builds AND worry less about toggles dropping. Been playing with Pines, still don't get how blasters etc can softcap defense but I'm sure someone can explain.
  2. Couldn't agree more, them blasting that open and giving it away opened up the early game like crazy. It's exactly what COH can be about, choice and flair.
  3. I agree 100%, would love to see sents with assault and another trait maybe similar to kheldians. That's actually my point too, I hope they feel they CAN change it, I don't want the game to get stuck where people are used to their sents and the devs cave to leaving them as is. I feel they probably agree they need tweaking and are holding off basically due to worry people will complain.

No need to nerf anything like this, people play COH out of passion and love for the game, creating a build and empowering it is almost more an exercise in creativity rather than WOW/MMO style endless grind that gets invalidated every patch. This game even more so than before is unique stop trying to make it more like the other trash on the market.
  5. Classic story that I'm sure a majority of people here share; I am back to playing one of the greatest games of all time and I LOVE it. Not only do I love it, but I love the changes/additions/improvements made by the team. I know some decisions are controversial but I couldn't be happier, in fact I hope they keep adding and keep changing. With all the great changes to leveling alts up and things being unlocked, playing a lot and getting value is just ... man... it's awesome. Just keep changing, tweaking, and change back change forward. I don't play due to nostalgia I don't need things to stay static and as long as you feel free to change I feel confident you'll adjust anything you need to even if it's reverting things. Don't hesitate, be bold!!! I enjoy this build way more than I ever did any live builds. Yes there are typos and weirdness here and there but again that can be fixed and I'd rather have a rapid pace of changes than some slow corporate fear based approach. Total rambling rant I know just wanted it out there. And if you wanted to create donation goals for specific goals, like a goal for adding costume pieces by hiring an artist, I'm all for it. I guess I should start with a 'retail' general donation of 50 bucks then a monthly but would be awesome to 'sponsor' specifc ideas you guys have, vote with the wallet kind of things. To be clear I'm not advocating for buying features, it's more ideas that the devs come up with and they gauge interest and prioritize based on what the community wants.

This fallacy is categorized as a fallacy of inconsistency I’m not stepping into the rest of this dreck storm, but his point was your counter to his point was poorly made and illogical. My thought was, if she makes the illusions than she is the one gas lighting people and you should come up with a better strawman if you want to keep going. Not impressed. Looks like you read a list of 'debate terms' and threw them together. Nothing even approaching a strawman anywhere near my comments. I didn't even make a claim around his position, such a fail bro but nice try.

  10. You're kidding right? Nope, I seriously think that bio is lazy cliche sexism. MCM If I made a character called 'gaslighted wife' an illusion controller with a bio about an abusive husband etc. would you call that sexist? I wouldn't Unlike the henpecked husband I wouldn't find it funny since you know abused women aren't as funny as abused men. That would be kind of sexist of me actually, bit of a double standard.
  11. I had dreams for years about playing this game again... I couldn't agree more with the sentiment. It's so damn good, better today that I'm older and wiser and done with 'addiction loop' games.
  12. Thanks so much for the replies guys. I agree with 'play what's fun to you' to a great extent, gameplay brute wise is definitely way more fun just not perfect thematically but I can adjust. If I make Tankers in the future it will be with the goal of pure team play.
  13. Hi Everyone, I tried forum searching this but if there is a big thread about it already please let me know and I will go there in shame. Basically I've been trying to decide between Tanker and Brute as my main mighty melee dude. Tanker was my original preference purely thematically, I liked the added focus on defense and icon (I know silly right). However I leveled a SS/INV Tanker and a SS/INV Brute for about 20 levels and the Brute is just way way better. Tanker hits like a noodle and dies more just because he can't kill anything. Thinking ahead to max level team ups, I did want to tank and there is the only plus I see to the tanker from a gameplay perspective (easier aggro) but that simply not enough to justify slogging through boring solo play. I may have to put fun over theme and go brute. I guess what I am asking, why Tanker for any other reason than high end TANK play? Is it the nature of INV and SS too, just not ideal for a Tanker? Insight very welcome please.
