Ruin Mage replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
They just got posted. Blue/Green=What has changed. -
Masterminds have wanted changes for years now.

Were the MM fixes/changes talked about promised in a specific time frame? That'd be my first question. "Would have been better." In their opinion, sure. -

Oh boy, more "devs do what we say or you STINK." Entitlement is stored in the keyboard. -

Agreed. What form that takes? Time will tell, cause the Devs seem aware of it. Better than Live would take, where the Market was absolute bonkers and the prices were insane for even completing a single recipe. -

The game is moving forward and changing. It's in active development even if the pacing isn't the same as a live game (I think. I might be wrong cause maybe Issues came out faster/slower?) If we weren't getting updates, it'd make more sense to not change things up and let it be the same stale "AE is the best choice." Which it'll still be the best choice for getting to 50 & making influence. Nothing on that has changed. EDIT; Buffs & nerfs & revamps to power sets also change how people play in HC. So that argument is moot. -

Farming is not dying just because you can't get Veteran Levels. You can get everything else as normally besides that. It's just slower (due to a bug being fixed) and subjectively harder (based on builds) but it's not dead in the water. -

You can still get Veteran Levels off Dev Choice arcs, that's something people are skipping over. -

As it stands, there are or were farms that were under Dev's Choice. Dev's Choice arcs allow you to get Vet levels. Solution? Make a farm with a decent enough story. Otherwise: Unai, Harvey, and Maria all have farmable maps so long as you don't complete them. Were we locked to i25 and no further development, I'd be all aboard not changing a thing. But this is a CoH that's changing and moving forward. -

The doomsaying over a harmless change is weird. Show me one or more MMORPG with a population matching our size or above that has ONE place for ALL needs. EXP (as in leveling), money, equipment, etc. It also helps if it hasn't been changed at all since its release. -

I think buffing regular ACTUAL content is a good step forward, but not to the insane levels of AE farming. More incentive to step outside of the AE = good, but it'll be tricky to achieve I think. -

Why does it matter? Because one thing should not be the best source for all a game has. The only things that, prior to Page 4, required you to leave AE is if you wanted to experience anything else. Or do badges. Otherwise, you could live and breathe the AE. That is not good design and should have been killed off much sooner than this. You should put more behind the claim that it has kept the game alive as well. -

Now that's a take I didn't imagine seeing. That being said, there's nothing wrong with AE being a source. It's wrong when it is the #1 end all be all source. Right now, all this removes is veteran levels. You also cannot get Aether through AE. AE will still be the place to go for EXP and influence - it just requires a little more work on making custom enemies. Nothing major is changing, it just means you have to get vet level outside AE. Which is not a big deal. -

Right now its just no more vet levels. You can still get Incarnate EXP. Just to make sure that's clear. -

That's a dev's character so its intended. It's just there to show off the new thing. -

No, it was not. We had dice emotes but they went up to 5. 6 with some requirement -

It's an optional thing, like badges. They'll always be there. -

Farmers and those along for the ride in some sense. Personally, I'd rather see the AE used for actual missions and I wish more nuclear options had been chosen - but that is not a decision I get to make, thankfully. -

The AE should not be the end all be all source of all resources in the game. Prior to Page 4, it was. -
So by the token of the stance I'm seeing; There should be no cooldown on reward merits or Hami-Os/Enhancement Options from Reward Tables at the end of TFs. Therefore, we should be allowed to farm reward merits/Enhancements from TFs as we please? That's the mindset I'm seeing here, unless I'm misreading.

I advise people test this. It's not game-wide, but only specific groups. Yes, those groups will tickle a little more. But it's not every enemy in the game.
