  1. It should also be said that we are still with only access to the Tier 1 costume powers. T2 and T3 are going to be rolled out when they have more data I believe.
  2. I released Barrage after taking it. Its FREEEEEEE.
  3. If a team is requiring all eight players to use barrier, they are a team you should avoid because barrier cycling will not make HM 3/4 any easier. It takes away small dangers, but barrier will not prevent the Hostless Aspect from holding you or taking your body.
  4. Maybe after letting Page 4 no longer be fresh. I'm of the mind that proliferating them across all content like that is not needed until Tier 2 and Tier 3 costumes are available.
  5. Jesus christ man, touch some grass. It's a game economy not the real economy.
  6. The only time I can recall it being Barrier Cycling is for 4-Star Aeon early on. But there's better ways to go about besting that setting than "everyone go barrier." and I've not heard of a team requiring barriers for 4 stars. Personally, a mix is needed depending on which HM and what the team looks like.
  7. No longer a thing on Everlasting, not sure about other shards. The concern over market price is entirely in the player's hands, and as far as the Best Shard goes? It's now no longer AS ludicrous as it was. Even the most expensive builds here are nothing compared to live. Purples and PVP IOs are 100x more accessible now for example. So are AT IOs and the Winter IOs. The only enhancement that I think will remain high priced are specific DSyncs from Aeon. But again shard to shard based if I remember right. 4-Star doesn't need The Best Builds In The Game.
  8. The stance mentioned in here is generally correct. The only time it is not adhered to is by proliferating them across npcs. The Aeon Gloves are used across a few Brickers (Rodney included) and thus they were no longer unique. So unfortunately unless they decide to proliferate this across NPCs beyond Odysseus? Probably not going to happen.
  9. Leaving powersets as they are is not good design choice. Especially when there are clear underperformers (I point at the ENTIRE AT known as Masterminds) versus more recently released sets (stuff released post-Freedom/Going Rogue onward) - that's just not a Good Call.
  10. Those were designed by Paragon Studios as part of the Incarnate System. Can't exactly do much about them without the monumentous task of attacking the Incarnate System and how it works. I make mention of going elsewhere because you can't get everything in a game right upon its release. Its rather common game design even for all the QOL you can get. You still need to do content to earn salvage, influence, experience etc - so a currency for an optional set of NPC-based costume powers is by far the least of any worry in my opinion. Putting the most earning behind a new system of content as well is pretty common as well - but these costume powers aren't really going anywhere - they're not rare or in limited edition. The influence cost of them is starting to settle or lower to more reasonable prices. If the Aether puts people off, then oh well. I don't have a good solution to that or an answer - as I agree with their implementation and use.
  11. If new rewards were instantly all get-able from the get-go upon their release, then why bother? This isn't a Instant Gratification Game, and non-power rewards don't need to be Instantly All Given to people. Playing the game to earn something isn't as bad as its being made to be. If you want easy rewards for the least amount of work there are other games (such as Mobile games) out there that do that better.
  12. No thanks the Original Suggestion.
  13. Those particular changes? I can't exactly say what you're supposed to say. I should have specified in my post about that - whoops. My comment was geared towards the ones that need actual testing for valid feedback, not the one that could be commented on without any testing.
  14. There's feedback and then there's "it's a shit change i'm going elsewhere" non-testers throwing a fit. We had a lot of that with Attack Type changes this Page. I'd say that it's more likely to get a change to be modified/better'd than to outright get it walked back. People just need to test it, offer constructive criticism, and learn to accept that our voice is not 100% guiding the direction of the server and never will.
  15. Everyone has different views, and obviously HC has a very different take. Which is to be expected. They don't want this to be Idle Mobile Game #66545 in levels of easy. That they've started to toy with things and making ALL attack types matter (rather than being able to snore through the game on an S/L/E softcapped blaster) isn't a huge brick to the game, but I also am someone who laughs at my own deaths. I don't think there's anything to prove, it's just that their intent - to me - is to not remain Locked to the way the game was at shutdown. None of the servers out there are doing that. I don't think there's really re-inventing the wheel, but maybe I'm missing something. Optional hard mode content that rewards bonuses for completing it seems fairly standard - although there's no real Power Progression from it. Which is intended given power hardcaps at a fully IOed T4'ed build. Instead the progression becomes ooh cool shiny that is for collectors and/or roleplayers. You're right there's no real typical progression or leaderboards. However, giving people something to chase isn't bad no? That's how I see stuff like the Hard Modes - an optional piece of content for those who want to step up to challenge the content. It's not affecting any real content out there pre-HC outside of a bug or two that was caught and fixed before P4 Launched.
  16. Which defense "nerf" are you talking about, to be clear?
  17. I don't have superhuman skills, but according to that one Predators movie by Shane Black I might have some and just refuse to acknowledge it. Jokes aside: I would prefer people to stop doomposting about how the game has become Significantly Harder only for it to turn out they've not adjusted to the Aggro Changes and refuse to adjust. Your hand isn't going to be held forever by S/L/E softcapping, and it shouldn't be. Neither should the game remain the same just because some people think Change Is Bad.
  18. A new TF brought to HM options doesn't mean the entire game is going City of Dark Souls. Also find a better comparison. Aggro changes and Attack Type changes don't do it either, unless you absolutely refuse to make adjustments to playing at +4/x8.
  19. The forums are a Savage Raid from FFXIV. I wouldn't blame em for not doing Dev Insights/Talks.
  20. Forum cop comes to ruin this thread. Jokes aside, my take is the following; Homecoming does deliver a City of Heroes that is advancing. Does everyone agree with it? Absolutely not and that's fine. Developers, paid and volunteer, make choices that not everyone agrees with. This is the nature of being human - you will not agree with everything done at all times. I don't particularly agree at times with how the power devs swing with their changes for example. I think of the servers available, HC offers a more "we make sure it works, that the jank isn't visible, and that it makes sense at least to us." approach - because you can't expect or ask them to make it make sense to us. We just play here and this is their server. This is the same for Rebirth, New Dawn, or others - that server is the dev's server at the end of the day. Nothing entitles us to anything in regards to HC despite some occasional claim otherwise. Now would it be nice if they took tidbits from the suggestions & feedback forum? Selectively, yes. Wholesale? Abso-fucking-lutey NOT. There are some really backwards ideas out there regarding how devs putting time into their own ideas is bad. Things can and should be cherry picked as they please, as All Ideas are Not Made Equal. For example, the idea of doing new servers with alternate rulesets is not a good idea. Why? The manpower and resources needed to manage and set that sort of thing up is not, to my understanding, any snap-of-the-finger task. Where as suggestions to bring certain power sets up to par with later releases? Fuck yeah. Lets see modern revamps of Ancient Sets or sets that just have no identity in the face of others. I'm part of the Gold Standard Discord [Which is an open invite somewhere around here] and the vibe I personally get is that these devs actually care about health of the game - though maybe not the health some vocal folks want. Sure that doesn't align with everyone's vision. Sure, they may not be bringing out what everyone possibly wants but then that's nigh impossible. There are enough dissenting/differing opinion on things that you can't just listen to the community and call it a day. Most of us don't know how the code works, how game balance works, or such - plenty of us would make terrible developers on our own. HC pushes the boundaries for changes too - a lot of these things it does is nutty that I've not seen other servers do without massive drawback or hyper-jank. I personally believe in a good future with Homecoming - one where people will eventually see their favorite underperforming set get some love. One where we get new content like the Wharf stuff (without the Batallion shit, please and thank you) and where Hard Mode continues to grow and be proliferated. I think population is going to wax and wane. People will dislike changes. People will not have the time anymore. It happens and there's no real victory in trying to chase the ever eternal Retention Problems. We are the most populous Rogue Server / Private Server that, in my humble opinion, does it best out of the options. We'll always be here until donations cease, the head honchos get tired, or NCSoft goes "bye, binch." -- these things should allow people to be more chill rather than screaming about waste of time, "shitty" changes that aren't personally tested by the person calling them shitty, or anything else that seems rather silly to get worked up over. Yare yare daze.
  21. You should ONLY be earning 30 PAPs from HM ASF: If you do the Extra Vanguard Fight on Relentless/4Star w/ the leader having the Master of badge.
  22. MMs are an AT that require love that I feel would be a keystone (Major) aspect to a Page/Issue I feel. I could be wrong. Like I love what they can bring support-wise to the HM ITF. I do not enjoy Group Fly (Yes I know about Null) and I know it probably feels frustrating to keep resummoning pets but ah well.
  23. The Goliath Robots is not skippable, just to make that clear. We need more fights like it (^:
  24. I was trying to make a shitpost out of a rather silly claim. Thankfully, AE farmers aren't stopped from getting Incarnate stuff as vet levels still work in AE & farming is still viable!
  25. Oh hey what's going on in this thread- gets hit by "we're being told how to play!" as a giant stop sign.
