  1. Hello, Lords & Ladies of the super powers. I'm curious as to opinions on the best of the Blaster secondary sustain powers. I once lamented that the Energy one was a 30 second click on a 60 second recharge. Then some folks replied that you can put enough enhancements into it to make it Perma. Intriguing... my En/En is my favorite Blaster, (SOOOOO many alts, SOOOOO little playtime, so nothing is past Lv 12 yet though, lol). So... what are people's opinions on the best sustain power? I gotta say, looking at Tactical Arrow, those 3 powers; Gymnastics, Agility, & Eagle Eye, seem the best powers of all. I'm actually planning a build an as of yet undetermined Primary, not Archery, that will go /TA and only pick those 3 powers, and simply not use the 1st power you're forced to take. So, what say ye Lords & Ladies? Thanks for joining the fun. Take care.
  2. Thank you very much, everyone. This part about dmg is exactly what I was wondering about.
  3. Hello, folks, Question regarding Controller vs Dominator. Typically, the Villain’s version of a given powerset is less powerful than the Hero’s version because the Villain’s is a secondary powerset… such as a Defender vs Corruptor. The Defender’s version of Radiation, for example, is more powerful than the Corruptor’s because it’s a primary powerset… similar in scope to Tanker vs Scrapper… the tanker’s Invulnerability powerset is more powerful than the scrapper’s because it’s a primary set. Now… Dominator vs Controller… their primary sets are the same, for example Psi Control. So, since the control powers are the primary set for both ATs, are they equally as powerful, (excluding Domination)? For these two ATs does it simply come down to wanting a more offensive or defensive secondary since the primaries are equal? Thanks for any help and insight you can provide.
  4. Well alrighty then... I like that... not a new experience for me... I stand corrected, lol. Thank you.
  5. Hail and well met, folks. I was reading a thread where somebody was complaining about some new, endurance free, sustain toggles for Blasters. Now, thus far I've only made an En/En Blaster, but in the creation screen, reading over the powers, I didn't see anything about a toggle, and only some click power that didn't seem all that impressive to me. So, is there any truth to these endurance free toggles that help with sustain? Did I pick the only secondary that doesn't have a good sustain power? Thanks for any insight you may have. Take care, Tachyon Pulse, NoOb Extraordinaire Proud member of... nuttin' yet
  6. How could I have forgotten to add... DAOC, which I still occasionally play and I'm anxiously awaiting their F2P model. Warhammer Online... still play the emulator sometimes. Guild Wars Guild Wars 2... still sometimes play
  7. Pretty much played at least a few months, if not years, in most MMOs that came out. Actually other than WoW, I played at least 6 months on every game in this list Don't really remember the exact order. I'm 51. EQ1 Asheron's Call Tabula Rasa Eve Online EQ2 SWOTOR Vanguard, playing on that emulator now too... it's public. Asheron's Call 2 Neverwinter Nights Dungeons and Dragons Online CoH/V Champions Online Star Trek Online Neverwinter Online Fallen Earth Auto Assault DCUO Rift Defiance 2050 ESO <-- longest played for several years still playing FFXIV Skyforge Warframe Runes of Magic Marvel Heroes Online WoW <-- if I logged a month in this game I'd be shocked. I hated it A lot of these games I'd play concurrently.
  8. I had no problems getting my first choice names when the game was live... even a year or so into release. Here, with an arguably lower population, I've gotten only a few, and that's going 2 and 3 choices deep. Now maybe I could switch servers to try and get them... but I don't have any friends playing who would say Hey, I know that name... were you the X class from Champion in Y SG? LOL. But anyway, I was stunned at how many names I didn't get.
  9. How do you actually turn it off? Is it a setting somewhere or do you have to buy it from P2W Vendor and it only lasts so long before you have to buy another? Thanks.

Is that Superman chest logo photoshopped? I don't recall seeing that one.
  11. Yes, I've done that with some characters... ninja run especially. Frankly for a couple of my characters that will be their only travel power as it's very appropriate, much more so than the normal travel powers. For some of my characters though a particular travel power ASAP, is equally appropriate. For still others, you're 100% spot on. Love the increased flexibility and freedom.
  12. Son of a... I'm going to rebuild some lv 10 characters and rethink my sub lv 10 builds. Thank you.
  13. Hello folks, I just realized last night when my Tanker, who already had Air Superiority, hit lv 10... that he could, and did, select Fly as a travel power. I thought you had to be lv 14? Apparently not. Did this change while the game was live, or is this a Homecoming thing? Either way, very glad to see it.
  14. Thank you all. I might give a Brute a try, but frankly I'm not all that keen on the Fury mechanic, but it can't hurt to try. Before I say what I'm about to, let me preface with this... Back in the day I THINK I recall the Dev team saying that archetypes don't really start coming into their own until Lv 10, and by Lv 20 are pretty much who they are. Meaning, sub 10, and especialy sub 20, a Scrapper has pretty much the same survivability as a Tanker and a Tanker does about the same damage as a Scrapper, so on and so forth. That by Lv 20 the Scrapper significantly outdoes the Tanker in damage and the Tanker can survive significantly more damage than the Scrapper. Having said that, IIRC in the first place, that may explain what I'm seeing and hence my question regarding the Claws/Invul Scrapper vs the Invul/Claws Tanker. I currently play both right after the other... as soon as one levels, I level the other one. They're both Mutants taking on the same missions, and with very very few exceptions, fight the same "con" mobs; white, yellow, orange, etc in a mission. Now, they're only Lv 10, but BOTH kill the same mobs in the same number of hits. Whites regularly take 4 hits, barring misses. Yellows and OJ are a bit tougher to quantify since both miss them more often... but I assure you the Scrapper is not killing them in less attacks, not on average. HOWEVER, the Tanker is very VERY noticeably taking much less damage against a group, (2 or 3), of yellows or OJs. So, while the kill speed really isn't differing, (yet), the damage being taken, (or should I say my HP remaining?), after fights is very definitely noticeable in favor of the Tanker. He runs group to group without stopping all the time. In fact he's never stopped to use the Rest skill... the Scrapper has, and definitely can't go group to group as easily as the Tanker. In this respect I prefer the Tanker... but from what I'm reading here and elsewhere, for normal, even a bit harder, content, this will change and the Tanker's defenses will be overkill, while the Scrappers will be enough and EVENTUALLY be out damaging the Tanker by a great amount... True? In normal to a bit above normal content, will a Tanker's defenses be like using a 10 lb sledge hammer to crack a walnut? To reiterate, at Lv 10, neither is killing faster than the other, but the Tanker is coming out of each fight with noticeably more HP, (whether due to better defenses since it's his primary, or simply hie has a larger HP pool, I don't know). Oh, and they both have the same defensive powers: Temp Invul and RPD, and slotted exactly the same way, 3x Dmg Res in Temp and 1x Dmg Res in RPD.
  15. Hello, folks, Couple of questions if I may. 1) Do you think it would be easier to level villain side since the population seems to be about 1/3 of hero, (according to the server status page)? I'm thinking maybe easier to finish outdoor missions due to less competition for mobs. 2) Which do you think will have an easier time soloing and able to handle more, or higher difficulty, content; Claws/Invul Scrapper or Invul/Claws Tanker? This is really just a solo character, I have a team oriented Tanker. Scrappers kill faster but have less durability. Killing faster is a form of defense, but is it enough vs a Tanker's survivability? I prefer to kill more slowly and not die as often, than to kill more quickly, but die more often. But I want to solo as much content as possible. Thanks for any insight you may have. Take care.
  16. Hello, folks, While there may be better secondaries for Claws. I'm only interested un Invul vs WP for this character. I hate, Hate, HAte, HATe, HATE dying... did I mention that I hate dying? If Claws were a Tanker set I'd roll a Claws Tanker. While dying happens... which is the best for survival as the main priority; Invul or WP? I have two characters locked and loaded with, to me, good names and back stories... I just need to focus on one or the other... I already have 21 character slots filled as it is, lol. Thanks for any insight you may have.
  17. Hello, folks. Like many here I'm a CoX returnee. Two of my favorite concept characters are SS/Inv Tanker... smashing dmg, and Claws/Inv Scrapper... lethal dmg. I'd never gotten either past lv 25... due to being busy with my SG on my Rad/Rad Defender most of the time. However, I remember always hearing that past lv 30, lethal & smashing are so often resisted that playing those dmg types past lv 30 is an exercise in frustration. I have very little playtime, so I'd rather not waste it enjoying a character to lv 30'ish, only to get very frustrated playing them later. So... can anyone tell me how bad it is? Would I just be better off playing a non-S/L character... and I have tons from which to choose... to avoid this frustration? Thanks for any insight you may have.
  18. I've searched when creating a new character, and maybe missed it, but I've checked every archetype and have NOT seen Wind Control. Which stinks cause that is my most wanted set. I have a Wind guy in another superhero game which shall remain nameless, and Wind powers are my favorite powers as far as my own concept for a superhero.
  19. Thank you folks. Very familiar with the game since I played from Beta til Sunset... I just wasn't sure if the Homecoming team made PvP changes to allow it more, or open world, on Indomitable. Given the 18 quintillion people I've seen on the servers... I don't think finding a team will be a problem, lol. Frankly I'm glad the servers are loaded... just not when my first mission is open world, in a specific area, to kill 5 Hellions :( Though in the long run this healthy population is good for the future of the game.
  20. Hail and well met, all, A couple server questions if you don't mind. 1) I don't suppose there's a lower pop server? Starting out there are practically ZERO spawns to fight around Atlas Park during prime time US Eastern time. I like to think they're so scared of me that they've decided to walk the straight and narrow, lol. 2) I mistakenly, (maybe), rolled on Indomitable since all servers showed Heavy Load and it was at the top of the list. I see here that it's the unofficial PvP server... I completely and utterly detest PvP... but what makes this a PvP server? I prefer a bit of RP so will likely transfer to Everlasting... but I did want to know what makes Indomitable a PvP server, albeit unofficial. Thanks folks.
