If you're maybe unsure of whether or not a particular archetype/power combo is worth the time... play it on Test for a bit. I do this frequently. You can just set your level, give yourself any kind of Enhancements from DOs to IOs, as well as the most expensive uber godlike sets... and play a few Lv 50 missions, over-world "hunting," etc. This can help you not only decide if X is worth your time, i.e. did you enjoy it, but can help you plan out a build as well. I do this, but honestly, I also have a few characters, (pretty much just the ones I'm only "meh" on and don't like enough to really put effort into), that just "live" there because I don't play often enough to farm enough Inf, (and I can't be arsed to do all these fancy Inf earning things), so not having to worry about Inf is enjoyable for me.

Thank you. I know about the "Law of 5" but in the monitor it only showed 3x 10% ... unless one of those 20% displays was really just 2x 10% displaying as one value? So, that's what was throwing me off... but obviously you are right and I was inadvertently breaking the Law of 5.

Replaced Superior Defiant Barrage with Sting of the Manticore, and now Storm guy is ahead at 171.25% According to this page Superior Defiant Barrage set gives 10% Recharge speed, but Sting of the Manticore only gives 7.5%. That was the only slotting difference between the two, but thought the Storm guy would be better... apparently I misunderstood something on this page. https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Enhancement_Sets

A HAH... I didn't realize that I could put the Global Recharge LotG into those 5 slots, I thought that I had to use different ones... so now I did that, and I'm now at 163.75% ... still 5% shy, but at least I'm closer now.

I've quadruple checked, these are the same 5 LotG in the same powers, (4 of which say Recharge which I've highlighted), but they're not showing in the Storm guy's monitor <scratches head again>

Well, huh... Luck of the Gambler isn't showing for the Storm guy even though it's slotted in the exact same powers; Combat Jumping, Stealth, Infiltration, hover, and Evasive Manuvers. Ok, slotted Luck of the Gambler; Global Recharge, so now he's at 133.75% The other 4 LotG are also X/Recharge... so now THAT is the same, but the other LotG are not showing up in the Recharge monitor... at least I've got my starting point now.

So, here is a pic of my different Recharge values. My Energy guy seems to be getting Recharge from 5 more sources than my Storm guy. Again, both have the same powers, (other than Primary), and exact same enhancement sets, even in the Primary. The attributes don't tell me the source of the Recharge, just size... so I'm at a loss.

Thank you, definitely not a random Kinetic running by... those values never change; in missions, or randomly fighting outside. The Base Recharge is the attribute I'm monitoring... could be a temp buff maybe... I'll dig into it more later...

Thank you. Both characters are standing at the Trainer in Pergrine Isle, no enemies are near, only toggles are running, the same toggles. Even when I shut them down the Recharge rates display their same respective values; 168.5% vs 126.5%. I will go through the combat attributes to see what, if anything, is different.

Thank you, and my apologies, but I'm not sure I understand your question? What attributes, and why would they be different? Do Energy Blasters get some inherent Recharge boost?

Hello, folks. I'm having a problem that I can't figure out. I have 2x Blasters, one Storm/Atomic, one Energy/Atomic. Both have the EXACT same secondary, ancillary, and epic power pool picks. Both are slotted the EXACT same way. While of course their primary powers are different, they are slotted the EXACT same way from top to bottom. Yet my Energy Blaster has 168.5% Recharge but my Storm Blaster only has 126.5% Recharge <scratches head> I are confoosed...

I have 146.5% recharge, no Hasten, and I have Perma-Dom. I believe you need at least 122%. I have Dom set on auto-click, and unfortunately since Dom goes away after each log off, when I log in again I need to build it, but after that it just auto-fires every so often, and I'm at Perma-Dom.

Sorry for a bit of a tangent, (though my Mind/Psi & Grav/Energy Doms, with Perma-Dom, are my favorites), can you now bump your levels on the regular servers like you can on Test? I've been gone for about 3 years, so I apologize if this is a stupid question... or do you do this, and play, on Test? I tend to create every character in which I may have interest as a level 50 on Test, then kit them out with cheaper enhancements, up through multi-billion Inf trust fund baby sets to see which I think are worth my time... but I'd love to get into either SO or IO sets right out of the gate on the regularserversif possible. .

I guess I may just roll up a couple/few lv 50 Blappers on Test, kit 'em out in sets from relatively basic/easy to get to multi-billion inf trust fund babies to see if I like them enough to warrant rolling a "real" one(s) on the regular server. So, is the basic play style to draw them in with a ranged attack or two, then melee them... or just jump into the midst and melee away ala a Scrapper?

Hi, folks, Again, I apologize for showing my ignorance, but... why Blapper over Scrapper? If your intent is to combine some ranged with a majority of melee, I get it... but if you're really just wanting melee, isn't the Scrapper a far better choice? Is it a value to a team thing? A better at solo thing? Or just a concept thing? The Scrapper now has pretty much all the same power options: Fire, Ice, Rad, Energy, Psi, Dark, Electric, etc, so I don't think it's a, "Gee, I wish I could have a Rad melee toon, guess I need to roll a Rad Blapper." Do the Blapper melee attacks do more damage? Given the, (better?), defenses of the Scrapper aren't they the better "up close, in your face" option? No, this isn't a troll thread. Yes, I tried some Google searches, but didn't find any threads on this, or the Reddit, forum discussing this comparison. I appreciate your insight, thank you.

Yep, I don't team for a few reasons, but mostly so I can play at MY pace. I tend to chat with my wife when I play, or watch TV... so I can just pause my game play as I wish, and I'm not obligated to a team's pace. I also just want to quit a play session when I want to... not be forced to keep playing because the team isn't done with a quest/mission/etc. I agree with you, that's hardly something to feel sorry for 🙄

Ya know, I thought the few comments about Symphony were some kind of joke, only to look it up and see that it's a real set 😲 I then looked at YouTube and saw visuals of the powers... OMG that's my next toon. I play Bards/Minstrels in every MMO, and Tyroc from the Legion of Superheroes is one of my favorites... so time to make an homage to him 😁

Really? I'll have to take a look at my recharge values/kit on my various Doms/Trollers... on both my Mind Dom & Troller it recycles in about 13'ish seconds, (my Dom is Perma-Dom), and I thought I had my other various Doms/Trollers kitted out the same way... maybe not 🤷 Probably time to quit posting, and do more research, lol.
