Sometimes a group experience is so miserable that quitting is the best option. Unless the guy quitting was carrying group, you'll be fine and penalizing them is pointless.

... Strong burst, actually. The build up completely bypasses exhaustion, and can be ignored entirely with proper stack management. Follow up is better than build up. It's sustain is better than a lot of sets due to having a very smooth aoe chain, but one cycle is still bursty. Four mediocre aoes vs two good ones.

Yet, martial, tw, SS, savage, claws, and axe don't make any such trade, and sets like db and katana are well rounded despite an ST focus.

And? You're saying this like spines is some top tier set that would break the game if it's main ST ability wasn't utterly gimped by an atrocious cast.

Whether the 'concern' is farmers, or an irrelevant excuse like "they aren't the same power technically" doesn't really serve anyone. @macskull I don't think it's strictly that, because they've used similar broken logic when it came to refusing to buff hurl/hurl boulder to be on par with the dom version too. Nobody is farming with stone melee.

By that metric, you'd think someone swinging a tree around might do more dps than a battle axe or a pair of wrist mounted blades. (TW is only top tier on pylons, before anyone corrects me.) Also, it's incorrect. Bows could very well have more punch than crossbows depending on various circumstances and comparisons, like what type of bow, what type of crossbow, and who's firing it. In a setting where even the 'natural' heroes and villains demonstrate above peak human strength, I could very easily see a bow being absolutely devastating. So tl;dr, it's best to just view the merits of the cosmetic change in and of itself and not getting wrapped in 'realism' unnecessarily.

Well, when I see the same group of people brigading threads until they inevitably get closed (which is a weird way to handle that, by the way.), and they're still there weeks to months later doing the same thing, one can't help but think nothing's being done about it. I'm sure you're all great people that hate sentinels just like any proud members of the community, but the moderation policies might need an update or two, because there's clearly a problem.

Oh no, it's fitting. Some people on these boards are in their 50s and have less social skills than a toddler. The real issue is that the authority figures do exactly nothing to solve the problem. They just ignore it, hope it blows over, and then we're back doing this song and dance again because nothing actually happens.

That's not at all what happened. Being told "no" isn't the issue here. And uh, frankly, I don't care if you disagree. It's an objectively bad look and Cipher even acknowledged that.

The whole "volunteer" line gets tiring when used as some sort of 'gotcha'. Is HC maintained by volunteers? Yes. Does that mean they can do whatever they want without any criticism or retaliation? No. Good will buys you a lot of leeway, but said good will can also be burned. We are not entitled to anything simply by donating, but HC isn't entitled to an echo chamber either. Remember: HC is only the most popular server because it was first. You can't claim to be all about the community but neglect it and hide behind the 'volunteer' defense when you screw up. This situation was handled extremely poorly and is hopefully a learning experience.

Reopening that one is profoundly confusing. Maybe they thought it best just to keep all the heat off the genuine one, but this has the indirect effect of, you know, reigniting all the arguments about why such a thread is in poor taste.

It's still not a good look. I doubt this particular case was inherently malicious, but the fact they lacked the awareness to go "Hey, maybe we should respond to the memorial request in the thread requesting it." and instead chose to enable the person essentially yelling "Get off my lawn" at the funeral is a HORRIFIC look. He made it about him and got exactly what he wanted. I can't imagine anyone who actually knew the person is looking at that in a positive light. That's such a bad look it's like something you'd see in a comedy.
