Focused Feedback: Powerset - Plant Control
ScarySai replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
They nerfed contagious confusion, FYI. It now respects enemy level. You can argue that's just fixing a bug and is 'correct', but it's another unnecessary hit to confusion stacking. Also, I am noticing a significant drop in creeper spawns. This nerf went way too far, sorry. I don't care how you justify it by buffing the other powers, the carnage was the appeal of plant, and nobody is going to play this over mind control now. -
Focused Feedback: Powerset - Radiation Armor
ScarySai replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Rad armor's one of my favorite sets, so here we go. Rad's weakness is it's sustainability in a fight, largely due to the long cds between your clicks, and a total lack of debuff protection. 1: Why is the max recharge for therapy longer on top of the other nerfs piled on to it? The adaptive recharge change doesn't really make sense to me, unless it was specifically to target procs. 2: Why is ground zero's cast time still so slow? It should be faster now that it's a normal aoe attack. You claim rad therapy did too much at once, but other armor sets, especially now, have a lot more going for them than rad does. So I question if this was a relic of an earlier build that just never got adjusted. -
Focused Feedback: Powerset - Dark Armor
ScarySai replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Well, obviously. I even pointed this out. It's a really weird way to do it, though. If they insist on this implementation, I'd want it to become a taunt aura for scrappers so I actually have a reason to run DA on a non brute or tank. -
Focused Feedback: Powerset - Dark Armor
ScarySai replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
The max HP is the most valuable part of the soul transfer change, the rest is gravy. Nothing here is particularly bad, I just feel like it would be much better designed if the knock was in obsidian armor, and cloak of fear had an actual reason to use it otherwise. @Lazarillo For cloak of fear itself, but dark armor's end woes are due to how many toggles it runs on top of dark regen being thirsty. Even reduced, cloak is more endurance than any decent live dark armor build is running. This is one of my main sets, if it launches like this, it'll be an improvement, but the knock prot and cloak could be implemented it a better way. -

I find this to be an incredibly weird way to add KB protection to the set. You're trying to tackle too much at once here, Dark armor needs knock protection and cloak of fear needs to be better - this is just a weird way to handle both in one shot. The end tax is going to punish less experienced builders a lot. I'd suggest giving cloak of fear +end when you kill something affected by it. -
I didn't think I'd like this at first, but I enjoy it after playing with it. Two major things I'd like to see changed here: 1: +Recharge should be in here somewhere. Regen could leverage it far better than other sets that get it, like energy or SR, the most clicky armor set should have something to help with that. 2: Reactive regeneration is a bother to maintain max stacks on. Either double stack duration, or half the stack total with double the power and it's perfect.

Focused Feedback: Powerset - Plant Control
ScarySai replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Plant's profile is more balanced now, but this kinda sucks for the people that enjoy plant as it is now, as the control set for murdering things and causing chaos. I'm not really understanding why, either. Plant isn't "meta" and even mid tier sets from other ATs can clear faster than it does, it just has a fun little niche that's actually useful in the eyes of the playerbase. It's borderline useless in 4* content, and these changes do not change that. I'm trying to make spirit tree work, but I question the usefulness of a mass taunt pet in a set with confusion and sleep being so prominent. 1: Either reduce the recharge back to how it was on seeds, or bring the target cap back up. With what other sets got, this nerf is overkill and could stand to be half reverted. 2: Spirit tree still sucks, would like to see it have a more useful bonus for bothering to drop it in a field of already controlled mobs. Maybe have it buff your creepers/flytrap while active. EDIT: Whether intentional or otherwise, Carrion vines don't spawn as often either. Revert it all, if you're really that scared of procs, maybe hit them directly instead of gutting sets while leaving others fully able to make use of them. This is ridiculous. -
Preliminary testing results from a STJ/psi scrapper and a SS/Psi brute 1: Resists values are too low and the regeneration isn't high enough to compensate for it even with a fully saturated DP. This thing will buckle on a non-tank (because tank stats in general are just busted) to the actual threatening factions. 2: Memento mori should give you something for defeating enemies affected by it. 3: I don't like the pbaoe DP being only for brutes and tanks. If you insist on shoehorning that in, make it a choice like what other sets this patch have got. I do not like the cone at all. 4: I'm having difficulty getting value from insanity on higher difficulty levels, even with the mez juiced up to 11. 5: This set would be infinitely better if reworked from a resist set, to essentially being the defense version of dark armor.

I'm still assessing the power level, so no opinion on the tuning for a few hours. For now, however.~ 1: Visually, this set needs to be flashier. As it is, it's kinda lame. Do what you did with storm blast and crank the fx to 11 and the visual feedback will be there. 2: Hypnotizing lights is unneccesarily clunky. You tried something new here, but it's more annoying than of use. Why sleep something when I can confuse it?

Legendary 45% softcap... True/False/Sometimes/BS?

Why do you format your posts like a malfunctioning chatbot? -
Seconding this, noticed it after an extended testing session with a rad/elec blaster.
-
They also did not have bodyguard mode at first, which makes the 'vision' even more questionable.
-
I think the main issue is just HC neglecting to bring up underperformers in a timely manner. The things they've done so far are mostly good, but for the patch cadence, it's really not enough. Though, the way they've been handling nerfs is a bit questionable. The nerf to the brute damage cap while buffing tanks was a prime example of some backwards logic. They also neutered fire armor's damage output and essentially made it boring.

Combat Teleport vs Speed of Sound; Compare and Contrast
ScarySai replied to Scarlet Shocker's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, I use ctrl+lbutton for manual combat porting, and that command to button5 for targeted ports. Works wonders. You can do the same for jaunt, but it's less responsive. -
Combat Teleport vs Speed of Sound; Compare and Contrast
ScarySai replied to Scarlet Shocker's topic in General Discussion
That's weird. Are you using /powexeclocation target combat teleport ? I love speed of sound, but combat teleport wins in terms of responsiveness. -
As a general rule, blasters want to be in melee, utilizing their entire kit for maximum damage. People say this isn't the case, they are wrong. The exception to the rule is Ar/ta. This is the only top tier pure ranged blaster. Crazy map sweeper, and one of my favorite characters in general. Rad/elec is ridiculously strong and a popular off meta build for speedruns. The elec manip attacks make up for rad's lack of st attacks, so you have a very strong synergy there, and -res supporting your melee hits. Psi/ninja shreds bosses and has pretty decent control for a blaster. Between psinado, choking powder and blinding powder, most things you're killing with your absurd single target aren't likely to fight back.
-
Played and built properly, they are hands down the strongest. Powerset combo and the build itself are the big considerations.

Fire/fire Ar/ta Rad/elec Psi/nin

Mostly a read on practical output. But if it's not doable then it's whatever. I've had a few frustrations with lot of people in the community that don't know how to read data correctly, so removing the extra step would help. Anyway, this thing needs a pin.
-
I like this a lot after spending some time with it, just have to mentally filter out the overkill dam. More customization on the ingame interface would be nice, I don't care about healing as a blaster, and such.
-
Some dude randomly shows up and makes the most impressive attempt at a parser thus far. Can't test it for a good bit, but I assume this one properly accounts for overkill damage?

Forum Moderation - give me suggestions and feedback

I don't need life advice from a forum moderator who asks for advice and gets upset when said advice isn't worded to their liking. I'm not swearing, your word policing doesn't interest me. On that note, I remembered a third point I neglected to mention earlier, because I forgot: You tend to ignore the general point of a post and hyper-fixate on one tiny little thing you don't like, not even against the rules, you just don't like it - discarding any other content in said post in your replies, and giving others (It's not just me, rest assured.) the general impression that you're being unfair. I'm really trying to be honest and work with you here, but I'm not going to pat you on the back and tell you you've been doing a good job, I think the moderation has been a joke overall on the forums specifically, and my feedback is going to be direct and reflect that.
