Focused Feedback: Dark Melee Update (Build 1)
ScarySai replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Claws/bio is my favorite scrapper, and clears missions like if you gave Zoom a chainsaw. Dark has viable AoE now, and much better Pylon potential than a claws scrapper, but claws will still absolutely destroy dark on any given AOE fight. People are heralding this like it's the next TW/bio, it really isn't. -
Focused Feedback: Dark Melee Update (Build 1)

You're sacrificing utility for damage, especially in situations where you don't need the endurance, but that ability is sitting off CD doing nothing on your bars. I don't get the complaint, here. A worthless ability and a once-a-minute ability of questionable value are now not total junk. There are claws stalkers with better AOE than DM without shield backing it. Plenty of suggestions on that front have already been made about that in more appropriate forums. -
Focused Feedback: Dark Melee Update (Build 1)
ScarySai replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I personally don't see the changes as broken, it's incredibly strong for a secondary like shield, that had really good synergy with the old DM, perhaps you could make the case that it's growing in power rather fast, but you need to remember that /shield isn't the only armor option available to dark melee, and with most other armor sets, it's performance is wanting. I'd say 18 or 20. Enough important primary and second abilities are usually available at this time to determine if the character is right for you, only the most back-loaded sets are still 'crippled' around this point, Masterminds are a good example. A lot of the time, they're kinda crap until 32. -
You madman! ._.

Probably because it sounds better on paper than it actually is. -
Focused Feedback: Dark Melee Update (Build 1)
ScarySai replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I think the fact that people are trying it on beta now and still think Shadow Maul is slow says a lot about how dreadful it's DPA was before the proposed changes. Also: Tip to beta testers: When surrounded, jump before using shadow maul. Works wonders, learned it with sweeping cross when I was playing my STJ/bio. -
DA's shortcomings are only really a problem in a world without IOs. For a punishing climb up (Less-so if you know what you're doing), you gain one of the best armor power sets in the game. Only Rad armor even comes close defensively. If it were to get an end reduction, I wouldn't be opposed to it, but I don't consider this a high-priority issue. And that's the major consideration, here, at the end of the day.

[/Devices] Please Take the Taunt Aura off Gun Drone.
ScarySai replied to ScarySai's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Without any reliable ways to softcap it (without seriously gimping your build, at least), it won't matter how good it's stats are if it still has the taunt aura. That's the problem. -
I've always done the 'reply to yourself' trick, but it isn't exactly a fun time to do it twenty times in a row, still.

Dark Armor is one of those things that is a sad time while leveling, but it really rewards you for putting up with it long enough to IO it out.

Sending a mass of individual items either to one of your alts, or to a friend, is kind of a PITA. If possible, it would be pretty cool if we could get the option to send a stack of items, or multiple different items to ourselves/friends via the email system.

The spreadsheet has value when it comes to measuring max potential under some crazy buff situations and some fulcrum shift spam. It has little to zero value in estimating most real world/solo performance in the game, however. Fortunately, there's a slightly better option for scrappers. DM will be a lot higher following these changes, at least on AOE. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1av2vWL9UVgGw183BbjFNweJze7N5P3Tn8tYSppdFQgE/edit#gid=647164741

Focused Feedback: Shock Therapy (Build 1)

It just occurred to me, but a minFX variant of Faraday's Cage would be very nice. -

The cottage rule wasn't even broken here, though. -
Electroshock therapy is insane mad-science nonsense in real life, sure, but it's also not just used for the LBGT thing, it's a last-resort procedure overall with a vast array of applications of (questionable) value. That being said, just because the IRL practice was used with deplorable pseudo-science, doesn't really give you license to come here and make these ridiculous accusations at the dev team. What's next, fire armor offending burn victims? Radiation armor offending cancer victims? Give me a break, it's totally harmless.

Focused Feedback: Dark Melee Update (Build 1)
ScarySai replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I'll be replacing my shadow maul sound with a Jojo "Muda" as soon as I find out the sound file name. >_> Also, I don't see how the cottage rule applies here. Both abilities still functions the same way and fulfill the same purpose, just better. -
Focused Feedback: Shock Therapy (Build 1)
ScarySai replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I feel like this set would shine more than other buff sets like Empathy/pain dom on a MM. Especially since it's pretty easy to get near-soft cap on pets without externals buffs now. Seems perfect for them, depending on how good the sapping/buffs end up being. -

And this is why I said it was a bad comparison. xD -
Focused Feedback: Shock Therapy (Build 1)
ScarySai replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I think the complaints about the name being 'insensitive' are a serious reach, but I will say that I don't really care for the name. Basically, leave it as Shock Therapy unless you think of something better. Set certainly looks interesting, especially if the pet problem is addressed in some form. Speaking of pets, I kinda want to see this on masterminds. -

ScarySai replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Something akin to if Scrappers had double-rage foot stomp. Comparing it to lightning rod, when the most notable part of lightning rod is the teleport is kinda strange, IMO. Edit: And as HelBlaiz pointed out above, the distance calculation. -
Focused Feedback: New IO Sets (Build 1)
ScarySai replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Bombardment Pretty much every set bonus in Bombardment is useful, so that's very good. As for stats, I partially agree with Vanden. I think the Acc/recharge one is fine as-is, but the pure damage one being replaced with a dam/end/rech would be nice. Bombardment's looking to be a 10/10 set from me. Synapse's Shock Proc Bug report: The icon for this set's proc shows up in the player's buff window, and looks really out of place. The proc and set bonus for Synapse's set is pretty good, especially when stacked with my /TA blaster's movement bonuses. It's certainly something to consider when you have the spare slots in stamina for every build. Power Transfer & Preemptive Optimization & Synapse stats + sets. Power transfer's set bonuses are fine, and it's clearly more geared for damage, but the proc seems incredibly weak. If it came down to power transfer and PO, I'd probably find a way to maximize damage while keeping the PO bonuses. The actual stats on these sets are really bad if they are meant for attacks. TL:DR: Bombardment is 10/10. Synapse proc is good for some builds. Decent set bonuses on the end sets, overall stats on them are really bad if they are intended for attacks.
