  1. The Experienced Marksman recipe set seems to be on the "Do not sell to vendors" list.
  2. A nice fun mission with an interesting premise. Good writing, plenty of clues and details, and several custom groups complete with costumes and bios. Only downside is a few spelling errors.
  3. That might have been me when I was writing my review column on the Live forums.
  4. There a bunch of other weird restrictions like this that get in the way. For example, you cannot use Mastermind upgrade powers on pets that are flying via Group Fly.
  5. I've enjoyed JSH for some time now and have watched almost all of of his "worst MMO ever" videos. Nevertheless, this 'list' is garbage: if anything it's a list of the most talked about MMOs, not the ones you should play. It lists League of Angels at #77 or so, which even he says is 'soulless garbage'.
  6. Yeah pretty much what he said. It's not a matter of 'impeding gameplay', but rather "Uh what am I doing and why am I doing this?"
  7. On the Frostfire map, wall objectives in the Ice Slide Room can be unreachable.
  8. I tried it again and was able to complete the arc this time. The idea of 'new hero who can't fit in' is fairly novel, there are a few touches of humor, and I like the innovative use of nav bar text. However, the player is never told what they're doing, or for who, or why. Details are sparse with no clues or contact bio. The main problem comes at the end of the arc, where an Arachnos target summons ambush waves at 75%, 50% and 25% health. This is a big no-no when the player has been reduced to level 10. I was able to beat it with a handful of large inspirations, but may players will fail. On the plus side, I encountered a fun bug when the mission ended...
  9. On the first mission I punched some Arachnos, then some Clockwork, then more Arachnos, then a bunch of guys at random, but the mission won't end.
  10. Pretty good, solid writing with several fun touches, plus a nice hidden reveal. There are two timed missions which can be failed, but they're not hard and you're warned before you hit accept.
  11. This arc was so well written I can totally ignore that it writes for your character. Besides, since it's obvious from the very start that this is how it plays out, anyone who objects to being cast as Batman can quickly bail out.
  12. Generally, it's considered bad form to the tell the player what their character thinks and feels, or to put more than basic dialog in their mouth. To use the example above, when the contact Mynx asks the player to investigate a Vahzilok hideout, the dialog option should be "Sure thing", not "I live to dispense justice!!" or "I better get paid enough for this..." or "I worship your furry tootsie-wootsies." Granted, this is more of a guideline than a rule. It's okay to tell the player what they feel if the story already makes broad assumptions about the character. For example, if the mission is titled "JUSTICE QUEST!!" and the mission blurb is "Join Mynx on a valiant quest to rid the city of the evil Dr. Vahzilok!!!", then it's okay to assume the character is a do-gooder. Also, IMHO it's okay to break the rule if the story is primarily a comedy. All my humorous arcs do this, and almost all my stuff is for laughs, so it turns out I break my own rule a lot. This particular arc doesn't really fit into either of those categories, but still the writing is so good that it works out. It's called the 'Ocelot Rule' because the people who care about this are all playing six breasted ocelots named "La'shy'a Ravenhair" in Pocket D at 1pm on a Wednesday. And their bio mentions Mynx's furry tootsie-wootsies.
  13. A nice fun romp which casts the player as a Batman-ish hero, with the butler as your contact. There's plenty of dialog, text and clues as you explore a cross-dimensional mystery. There's a lot of humorous touches and injokes, especially the one about the asteroid 🙂. No kill-alls or tedious glowie hunts. It breaks the Ocelot Rule, but I can live with that when the writing is this good.
  14. You're allowed to have multiple accounts (under most circumstances), Go nuts.
  15. I reviewed this arc myself, and I ran into the exact same glitch.
  16. So what happens when you're defeated halfway through a taskforce? "Sorry guys, I need to log off and reroll."
  17. Here's a thought... would it be possible to create a version of GF for Masterminds which only affects pets?
  18. Hey everyone... sorry I haven't been on much lately. Nice to see the people still around.
  19. I knew her vaguely myself. I sort of remember the drama over All Out War. EDIT: After reading through the forum link above, I now remember that I had also had some... disagreements with Felicia. Still sad to hear about this.
  20. Given that it mentions bases with workshops and defensive turrets, I'm guessing you used the City of Villains manual?
  21. Worth mentioning that all the AVs scaled properly to EBs, which doesn't always happen.
  22. This is an interesting one: Ms. Liberty invites you to use the AE system to re-live the adventures that led to you becoming a hero, which starts in the sewers and soon leads to you murdering prisoners while having a threesome with Fusionette and Echidna, or something like that. This is an intriguing plot, but sadly the ending is a letdown. No spelling errors, no kill-alls or other time wasters. The writing is a bit sparse, but still well done with several funny touches.
  23. Pretty good for a first arc. The writing is well done with only a few small spelling errors, there's clues and an NPC ally with a bio and a lot of dialog. As I'm sure we all know by now I'm not too fond of the 'defeat all enemies' objective, but it fits in with the plot and the map isn't huge. The story is very basic; the contact says the the PD frowns on hiring heroes, when in practice they do it all the time. Overall a good first effort.
  24. I ran though it today, and it was... okay. Not bad, not amazing, just okay. Bullet point thoughts: Mildly annoying that 50s have to do it though Ouro. The 'Too high level' dialog doesn't actually tell you that you're too high level. Writing was consistently great, both in dialog and descriptions. I ran it with a top-tier Sentinel (no Incarnate powers cuz 49) and the challenge level of the bosses was about right, I had to eat an insp once in a while. The defeat all was unnecessary. The troll hunt is an amazingly dumb idea. Boomtown is level 12-19, but the minimum level for this TF is 41, making it a yawner for everyone. Also pummeling drug-addled goons for information is never a good idea, unless you're looking for drugs yourself. Using the AE as a contact is a cool idea, I wonder if there are consequences for saying the wrong thing to that dude. Loved the new tile set. I'm actually glad they didn't use the cliche of "Oh no the holodeck is malfunctioning and the safety interlocks are down, I can pull you out in three minutes!!" *Two* noncombat missions was a bit much. Loved all the extra details in the last one. Ending was limp, no closure. Anyway if this was a user-submitted AE I'd be rating it three kicks out of five or something like that.
