I haven't gotten more than 2-3 tells per run asking to save spots. It's easy to adjust to.

Oh, I agree it's not an enormous problem, like people having conversations in LFG. 🙂 Was just curious how others handle it.

It's no bug. Villains can't be Hero teams; Heroes can't be on Villain teams.

I may need a powerpoint or something with crayons to really understand what you put together there, but seems thorough. Here's my experience if I am in Ouro, for example:

    • I invite Player A, who is not in Ouro, and they join the team but remain out of zone.
    • I invite Player B, who IS in Ouro, and get the error message: "Could not Invite Player B, You cannot make a co-op team unless all teammates are on the same map."
    • Same with Player C.
    • Player A gets in Ouro, and now I have no trouble inviting Players B and C.

This isn't a consistent experience, seems to depend on Player A's alignment. I can get around it if I invite Player A to LEAGUE rather than TEAM, since I think Player A is out of zone based on the fact they sent me a tell rather than posting in broadcast. If they are in zone, or once they get into zone, I can move them wherever I need. All of that seems like a bug to me.

Oh, I got you beat! Lately I've been getting BLANK tells from people who want invites. Yep, blank. What the hell does that mean???? LOL

If it's Siber, I don't mind. We have this whole schtick we do. 🙂

Currently, I am getting more any "inv", "ready", and my favorite to today "X". That's it, just "X".

Ha! I'm getting a lot of "Sure" responses. Sort of a resigned, well I got nothin' better to do, response.

Fourth, if the team is nearly full. Please, make your way to the zone.

Honestly, assume the team/league is always waiting on you to start and get there ASAP, perhaps even before you ask for an invite. There's an ugly bug that has to do with alignments somehow, and if someone on the team/league leaders team is out of zone they may not be able to invite others. I try to work around that by adding to LEAGUE anyone who sends me a tell (because they may be out of zone). But the bug can also pop up if someone on team 1 runs out of zone. It can put recruiting in a holding pattern.

I'm disappointed in the diminishing returns on different content, something I'd have pointed out if it had been on Brainstorm for more than a minute.

It is an odd award schedule, and it is causing some people to ask why everyone else got one and I didn't. The only way I found to know when the CD period ends is to look through log files. Also, when I've stepped onto Brainstorm in the past there's, like, no one there, so it's hard to test what a regular "day" for me might be like.

Anyway, more back to your original point, it has impacted my decisions on how I play. I've been rotating through alts and leading MoDDs more because it's a single run for Masters, and it awards 2 of those darned things which, up until several hours ago, were going for at least 20 million each. I resisted the urge to alt between each of the 3 runs necessary for MoLAM, though, even though financially that would have been a better choice.

Now that they are trading at 10 million and probably heading south from there, it's easier to sort of not care. Honestly, how much influence does anyone need in this game, anyway? (Not talking about capitalism in general, but works there, too.) And I still haven't tapped into the extra Reward Merits I've been picking up along the way.

Speaking of which, I know you don't do Keyes and Underground trials.  Am I right that it's also been ages since you ran a TPN, or have I just not been on at the right time?

I run BAF, LAM, DD, and MAG, as far as iTrials go. I just don't enjoy playing in the other iTrials, so I don't even try to run them. TFJ and others do a wonderful job with those.

If @Oklahoman, @STiTcH, and @Confusion got bored with the game and left, parts of the game would practically collapse.

I appreciate the callout, but I have been really encouraged of late to log in and find new people running a lot of the stuff we tend to run. @BlackSpectre and I cross paths in Ouro a lot, too, both recruiting for different stuff. We have, and will continue to need, current and new leaders running everything from DFBs to sewers to Posis to ITFs to iTrials (and tours to unlock each zone on your Zone teleport) to keep the player base engaged.

  8. If you don't already have it set this way, I recommend turning on logging. I usually have to check the previous days log to see when exactly Aethers were given to each of my toons, then do math to figure out the earliest I can earn more on each one. I'm not trying to chase Aethers, but if I am going to run something that awards them anyway, and I have a choice of characters to run it, I may as well get a character that I know is outside the cooldown period.

My guess is that even though you feel sure you were outside the 18 hour cooldown, you may not quite have been. Having the logging info to back you up would help and probably give support more to work with.

Also, remember that Aethers are awarded based on YOUR play experience, not others. So we really can't say "everyone else got one, why didn't I?" Good luck out there!

I know you run iTrials on a regular basis and you're not a jerk...

Nicest thing anyone has said to me today!

...about it, so I would say figure out a solution that works for YOU and people will adjust to it.

Oh, spoke too soon. 🙂 I think you're probably right - just say I don't hold spots, first come, first served, and let it work itself out. Just was curious how others are doing it.

  10. How do you guys feel about this, and how do you handle it? I'm not talking about someone in the team/league already who wants to alt, I'm talking about someone responding directly to an LFG ad with "save me a spot."

First off, I have a reaction to being TOLD rather than ASKED, but let's set that aside. How do I know when to invite you, and under what name? How do I know the the next person to send me a tell asking to join isn't you? How long does it take for you to grab your alt? etc.

I've never found a good way to handle this, so by and large I tend to ignore those requests (demands?). But I also know some people may need a certain badge and just inconveniently find themselves logged onto the wrong character at that moment.

  11. My timing wasn't bad - Oklahoman hit vet level 666 yesterday, though I was hoping I would hit it closer to October. Anyway, if you catch me in game, check out my updated costume for the occasion. I'm turning off XP until after Halloween.

  12. I'd like the glowies - at least the first one - in Dilemma Diabolique to send a message to all the players that says something like "Remember back in Outbreak when you had to click glowies? It's the same thing here. That's literally why I am glowing. You don't have to wait on the league leader to do it for you. Go for it!"

I'm flexible as to the wording.

Maybe some interaction with Only Affect Self would work here?

Seemed like a good idea so I tried it last night. Unfortunately, it seemed others were still able to knock me out of an emote. I may try it again, just to make sure I didn't accidentally do something that knocked me out of the emote myself.

The only issue I have with this proposal is that those running the raids tend to permit going AFK if you notify them and don't abuse it...

True. If "x" is 15 minutes, the new instruction league leaders would have to give is "don't be AFK for more than 15 minutes." Or, "x" could be 45 minutes, plenty of time to go AFK in the bowl for a full MSR. The values of "X" and {wherever} are negotiable, but the overall intent remains the same.

  15. I mentioned this idea in a thread or two, thought I'd pull it out for it's own consideration.

For zones like RWZ, The Hive, and The Abyss that are capped at 50 - whenever the zone cap is hit a procedure runs:

    • If no one in zone is AFK, nothing happens
    • For all players AFK in the zone for at least "x" number of minutes
      • Prompt the player with the longest AFK time to respond in 1 minute or get removed from the zone
      • If the player responds (and is now no longer AFK), run the procedure again.
      • If the player doesn't respond, tp them to {wherever}

This would help create space in those zones for players wanting to get into it to join an event.
