I have a Quest 2, but I haven't even attempted to get COH to work on it. My guess is that it would need to work like Bigscreen or streaming apps (Netflix, etc.) where you would have a screen you would be looking at.
-
Let's all chip in and buy a 30 second ad during the next Super Bowl. I'm thinking maybe a QR code that bounces around the screen.

Which isn't what the thread is about...
It isn't?
Then I'm not at all clear what it is about. The shortcomings of the costume creator?I didn't really spell it out in the first post, but I was really wondering about what powers and powersets exist in comics that we can't closely approximate in the game right now. I gave the example of Beast Boys' shapechanging ability, not his costume. It was meant to be a light topic, potentially (if I dared to dream) somewhat of a list of other powers that could be developed for the game.
But, of course, my true intent was to sew discontent and inspire bickering, so yay me.

Next time you run the game after you remove this parameter you will want to go to the settings button on the log in screen and toggle the advanced graphic settings twice and then hit apply. This will reset it back to what you previously had.
I think you just added this to step 14, and that seems to have fixed it for me. I'll have to check later if the crashing thing persists, but I'm optimistic.
It's been no trouble at all - I've learned a lot this weekend! I have a PC sitting here I used to play COH on, and I think I may set it up as my character capture one, just to keep everything separate. I appreciate all your help!

I need some help now backing out of this because I'm pretty sure it's causing my game to crash A LOT. I think the problem is GLIntercept.
I noticed after installing all the software that the game looked different - most colors were brighter, and some colors were different (like inside the Lambda base, for instance). It didn't look wrong, just different. But like I say the game keeps crashing on me, straight to desktop.
I uninstalled and removed all the files mentioned above, and made sure I had no arguments in the command line, but the colors are still the same so I figure I'm gonna continue crashing. Any ideas what GLIntercept may have changed that maybe I need to reinstall?

I got a complete print, but as you can see I had several problems. The right arm just never worked out and may have just been a hiccup with that particular print. The whole time it was printing I could see that arm just flailing around. 🙂 The left arm looked good once I cut away the supports.
However, the whole thing fell into thirds as I cut away the supports, so not much to show there. Broke right at the knees and neck. I think your instructions are sound, I just need to learn more about Blender and Cura, and really the whole 3D printing process. This is my first 3D printer, and my first Benchy print was Friday evening, so I'm pretty happy to be at this point pretty quickly.
For anyone who cares, here is the Ender 3 I purchased for $189, here is the filament I used, and here is a flexible magnetic bed cover I ordered that should be here in a couple hours.
-
@leeper48 The first grab I tried was me standing in Ouro, so there was a ton of stuff to delete. Then I saw your instructions later down that suggested grabbing from a tailor - that worked better.
I didn't see a lot to prune after with step 33. When I imported into Cura I had a popup listing some warnings and highlighting some areas. I ignored that, resized, and went straight to a gcode file because I really have the patience of your average 3 year old.
It's printing right now, but will probably need to do so overnight. I had some failures today trying to print some LOTR rings and rebalanced the board before this print, so here's hoping. I'll share my results. Thanks for catching me online and checking!
UPDATE: Guess I need some aqua net or something, the whole thing moved once the boots were printed and it went south from there. Boots looked good though! 😀 I’ll post once I have a print.

Remember that I added the bin folder. I blacked out the player account folders. Also, I don't mind updating to the new loader, just wasn't sure that was a requirement.

Go up one level to "C:\Program Files\GLInterceptx64_1_3_4\" and copy the "OpenGL32.dll" file you find there into "C:\Games\Homecoming\bin\win64\live\"
I could not find a \bin folder in my game directory, so I had to create it and the folders underneath.
Step 18 does not create the pause you suggested, so I feel like maybe I got off track having to create those folders. I wonder - I am still using Tequila (and I pasted in the parameter you mentioned on step 14, and I wonder if these instructions were built with the new loader in mind? Maybe that loader creates these folders mentioned above?

What comic book character (hero, villain, or in between) do you feel like you cannot closely approximate in the game right now?
The first that comes to my mind is Beast Boy, though a squid does has a shapechanging ability, I guess.

A common practice for LAM badge runs is to have the league pass the acids and grenades to the team/league leader, so that we know they are all accounted for. So, you run an Antacid run and get 10 acids in your tray, but now everyone is ready for Well Stocked... you see where I am headed. Right now I am going in through Powers and deleting each individually between runs.
In my old computer programmer guy mind, there should be a sub routine each time a trial is finished that just deletes those as you exit. Not sure how that looks in the spaghetti code we have.

I'm curious what equipment and filament you are using, or might recommend. I'm considering getting an Ender 3 or an Elegoo Neptune 2 (leaning towards the Elegoo rn). I don't know much about filament other than there are different kinds and colors.

Personally, I would like FEWER things to click. If they ever did add anything more, I would like to see automatic stuff or maybe stuff that enhances existing powers.

I'm thinking specifically of pacification grenades, molecular acids, and quills - once you leave the trial and they are no longer useful, they should just disappear.
As a short term solution, add "delete" as a right click option from the tray. Yes, you can go into powers and delete from there - would be easier to do it from the tray.
Or maybe a trash can in Ouro, PD, Echo Park, etc.

Of course, news of an impending restroom visit (or something equally delightful) could appear in any channel. The save/load option notwithstanding, it would be nice to be able to click the name and select "Ignore for 1 hour."

The instanced mothership raid has substantially less lag than a zone mothership raid, and you get more rewards as well.
I am curious about the rewards differential you are seeing.
The last MSR I ran netted, for me as a puller, 1500+ vMerits. That's on the high side for me, yes, but I get that frequently - mid forties up to low fifties. What kind of vMerits are your pullers reporting? I'm curious how far apart the instanced and zoned versions are. I don't really look at influence or XP at this point, so I can't comment on those, and maybe that's what you are referring to with the higher level Rikti.

A quick aside, once you start getting into uniques and set bonuses, you need to know about the Law of Fives. A couple of people have mentioned here already slotting LotG "up to" 5 times, and that's why.
In game, there's nothing that really alerts you that ED will adversely affect slotting that 4th damage IO, and likewise nothing that will alert you that doing something to create a 6th 7.5% global recharge won't benefit you. Mids can help, as well as other methods people have mentioned elsewhere.

ANYTHING with a dedicated graphics card will run CoH at near ultra settings
This.
Personally, I use an Acer Nitro V (AN515-53 to be specific), and it looks and works fine as a work laptop and for playing COH. I did choose to double the memory on it after several months, once I started looking at multiboxing. The camera is fine, but once I started streaming I bought an external camera for better resolution, though I honestly don't know if that helped anything.
Good luck!

I think it's a great idea. But I also wonder if bumping the zone caps to, say, 58 wouldn't be easier and take care of the majority of the issues we are seeing. At one point bumping the cap up was an option, but I haven't seen much discussion of that recently. Worst case scenario is you have a Hami or an MSR with a full league plus a 10 person league. I'd love for us to just give that a month long trial and see what happens.

I never give unsolicited advice. And BTW your post may get more traction if you don't begin it with some kind of recursive subroutine.

It's not great, but I did write a powershell script that could do this, and some of the other stuff you mentioned. I was a programmer once until I took an arrow in the knee, and I hoped someone would take the concept and create an actual program for it. It needs to run on a second monitor, and by default is designed to highlight certain keywords. It could easily be reconfigured to exclude certain lines, as you suggest.
I would love to see some enhancements to chat, including loading the last X minutes of LFG when you log in, highlighting team and/or league leader chat, and limiting users ability to post to LFG to 1 post per minute (because, seriously, I don't need to have second-to-second updates on how your DFB is filling up). I have also supported the suggestion you made to be able to ignore someone for, say, an hour or a day.
