If making a new power set entirely is too difficult, perhaps the existing melee weapon sets can be given the option to customize their sound effects? It admittedly is kinda silly when an energy sword still sounds like it's made of metal.

But the Cybertech Long jacket doesn't have a tattered option...

I noticed that when making characters with trenchcoats, I have a much more limited selection of glove options. Most of the larger options aren't available. (I can't have cyborg arms, for instance.) I am aware of possible clipping issues if one were to use the long sleeves, but that should be the players' concern. Can I ask for players to be allowed to use the same glove options with trenchcoats that they get with sleeveless jackets?

Huh? Are you sure? On another thread, I was told that the devs said that Mu'Vorkan was going to take Scirocco's place.

Starting as a praetorian = Neutral alinement

Sounds like you think legal=good. Not true. You need to realize that Praetoria is effectively run by a Lawful Evil ruler who is indeed a villain, no matter how much he believes otherwise. As far as I’m concerned, Warden wants to overthrow Cole’s regime, but do with a minimum loss of life. Furthermore, they care about Praetoria’s people. Killing for them is a last resort. They are conventional heroes, and NOT Vigilantes. The Vigilante Alignment has a “greater good” mentality. Their quests involve being willing to sacrifice innocent life to punish evil, which is contrary to what Wardens are about. As for Power, they ARE evil. The whole theme of the Power story is abusing the law for your own ends in the name of further power for yourself. Heck, the story has you secretly START half the incidents you “solve”, so that the people see you as a hero. They don’t “do good for the wrong reasons”. They do EVIL while masquerading as good. Furthermore, the Crusaders… honestly, they justify their actions with much the same reasoning as the Vigilantes. As for Responsibility, they do have to do some questionable actions to maintain the peace. (Killing a person who’s connections with Praetor White all but assure a fair arrest will just lead to them walking away free, arresting a man who ultimately just wants to save his daughter because he’s a leader of a crime syndicate and said daughter is in the Seer program, etc.) They’re closer to Vigilante and Rogue than what you said. I would personally say Crusader=Vigilante if they are serious about bringing down Cole, just willing to use extreme methods. Villain if simply an anarchist. Responsibility=Hero if they want to be a diplomat for peace and convince Cole an invasion is unnecessary. Rogue if they are loyal enough to allow Cole’s invasion to go through. -

Uh... what? I really don't see the logic behind how you're tying each story line to alignment. Do you think the loyalists are the good guys or something? Because the whole "Praetoria is a mirror universe where the heroes are villains and vice versa" is not ENTIRELY inaccurate. This becomes especially clear when you play through said stories. If you ask me: Warden=Hero Power=Villain Crusader and Responsibility are not as easy to pin down, though. Crusaders are the dark side of the Resistance and Responsibility is the good side of the Loyalists. Crusaders arguably do lean Villain and Responsibility Hero, though. But depending on how you play, you could make a case for both of them qualifying for Vigilante or Rogue. -

Yeah... CoH isn't really the type of game where an official Neutral Alignment would work. And even Praetorians will find it difficult to NOT be heroes or villains once Primal Earth gets involved. The thing is, Emperor Cole/Tyrant is NOT neutral. Not by Primal Earth's standards. He's a major control freak who will do ANYTHING he feels is necessary to "preserve the peace". (He's as bad as Lord Recluse, he's just a Lawful Evil to Recluse's Chaotic Evil.) Praetoria as whole is more gray and grey morality though, so there's good reasons why both Resistance and Loyalists have options to become Heroes or Villains. As a Resistance, you want to find like minded people to help bring down Tyrant. Whether this means being a classic heroic rebel against the evil empire (meaning becoming a hero), or committing terrorism (meaning becoming a villain). As a Loyalist, either you want to (try to) resolve the tension between the Earths diplomatically (meaning becoming a hero), or more or less act as an advance saboteur to wreck terror on Earth and gain some power for yourself while you're at it (meaning becoming a villain). The game even more or less encourages this. The two storylines for each side of the Praetorian conflict more or less encourage you to act according to who you will become when you leave. (Wardens and Responsibility for Heroes. Crusaders and Power for Villains.) -
If there were to be a Classic Server, I think it'd be better if they focused on recreating the world, rather than the rewards system. (I.E. Having Statesman still be alive, among other things.)

If I could pick just one element from the original plans to be implemented in Homecoming, it would be the "Scirocco successfully becomes a hero" story. Mainly because the plans involved Scirocco bringing with him a means for Heroes to access the Patron Power Pools without having to go red side first.

While they're at it, throw in the Arachnos ATs. Being able to make a completely unique NPC who's still obviously a member of Arachnos could definitely be an asset to storytellers. -

I wonder if it would be at all possible to implement Supergroup Base Building tools into map making in Mission Architect. -

... Oh. And here we have the story of how a guy (me) reveals he hasn't actually really touched the Mission Architect yet without explicitly saying as such. To be fair though, I already knew there were SOME maps that took place in space. I recall another thread saying that the Moon Map from the Who Will Die arc is usable in the Architect. I just asked if there could be more. (Is Earth visible from the Shiva Fragment? If yes, I'd like an "uncharted space" map that you can imagine being outside of Earth's orbit.) Although honestly, I care more about being able to recolor the powers used by custom NPCs. My first time trying out the Architect was very recently, and it was me attempting to make a custom NPC, who was connected to the Lore of one of my PCs, and attempting to give an identical color scheme to their powers only to be disappointed when I learned that you can't recolor their powers, -

A few map types I'd like: Some "generic city" maps, with no indicating posters, for players who want to have missions set outside Paragon City or the Rogue Isles. Some more maps set in space, for players who want to do space adventures. While we're on the subject of space, perhaps some more maps with a distinctly Alien look? (So that you can imagine being on another planet?) Aside from maps, I mostly just want to be able to recolor the powers used by custom NPCS. -
I actually can see the logic in wanting an invisible shield, if you use asymmetrical gloves to give a character a single armored arm that is used to block attacks.

Feel like spitballing another idea I've had. I've considered the idea that maybe a new vendor could be added to Tailors, exclusively for Masterminds, that allows henchmen customization. It would give players with a set of costume slots, similar to the ones normally used by player characters, but exclusively used by Mastermind henchmen. Players can then use the usual Tailor to go into power customization, and under the customization options for the henchmen, there would be options called "Henchmen Slot 1", "Henchmen Slot 2", and so on. Probably still wouldn't allow you to customize the non-humanoid henchmen, but perhaps someday we'll get new powersets that can fill their niches. (I've thought of a "Space Rangers" set to fill the sci-fi niche of Robotics, and a "Wizards" set that fills the magic niche of Demons.)

Been playing Klonoa: Phantasy Reverie Series a lot lately. The Klonoa games are REALLY good platformers. (I was lucky enough to end up getting my hands on Klonoa 2 when I was a kid and loved it to pieces, and am loving the chance to play it again.) I hope the Phantasy Reverie does well enough that Klonoa 3 can come to be.

I've been subscribed since launch day and still play occassionally. Emphasis on "occassionally" though. I'm a casual, so I'm mostly drawn to single player content, and nothing released since launch has quite captured the essence of playing through eight different storylines seeing the galaxy from different points of view. Only the Eternal Empire story came close, but it seems EA has given up on the model those expansions used. These days, only my initial two characters (a Jedi Knight and a Sith Inquisitor) get played because I see little reason to play anyone else.
-
I've had some thoughts on this myself. I'm no expert on coding, but I've been wondering if it would be possible to implement it in Power Customization. I imagine being able to choose a few different (preset) appearances for your henchmen, and being able to change the color of their outfits. (Or in the case of demons and robots, just their color period.)

Tv Tropes said that Ice Mistral would've joined Scirocco in becoming a hero. I'll admit I have no idea who would serve as Hero Patrons, or who would take Scirocco's place villain side, but I'm sure they could think of something. (At the very least, I can imagine Scirocco stealing some Arachnos tech when he flees hero-side, and a tech-savvy hero could do some analysis, providing a basis for heroic Mace Mastery.)

What is the relationship between Rogue Isles and The US?
Cybersbe replied to huang3721's topic in General Discussion
My guess is that there is a LOT of political corruption in the US and possibly even the UN. To the point where all the attacks on Paragon City are being written off because it's ONLY Paragon City being attacked. -
I've read on TV Tropes (yeah, I know, probably a silly source) that one of the plans for City of Heroes that was never implemented due to its closure was for Scirocco to successfully overcome his curse, becoming a genuine hero instead of a wannabe doomed to evil. In the process, he would bring with him a means for heroes to access the Patron Power Pools without having to become a villain first. The character designer in me would REALLY like to have some Patron Powers for heroic characters. (The Leviathan Pool in particular, because NONE of the archetypes have water themed Ancillary pools as far as I'm aware.) So I was wondering if anyone who's more in the know would confirm the truth of these plans. And if the Homecoming Team, through Scirocco redeeming himself or otherwise, would consider adding a means of accessing Patron Powers for heroes.
