  1. Base is finished! I want to express my thanks to @Etched and @Easter Bunny for their help in making that come true. I'll post pictures to the Base thread, and anyone who wants to visit what ended up being an underground hangout for the rogues and vigilantes of the Isles (and staffed by androids grown in vats)  can come visit on Everlasting at: ROGUE-30559.

  2. It's a non issue. I'm mostly on incendiary. Occasionally I swap to cold ammo for the range boost. By itself cryo mostly negates the sentinel range penalty. With +range from IOs/Alpha, you can get some great distance. Useful on certain fights, like Battle Maiden on TinPex.

And was Frozen Burn said, the swap mechanic is as easy as clicking a button. No animation.

i dislike pairing a cone set with pbaoes so none of what you listed is what i would do

rifle/energy.  with only needing buildup and conserve power its a very very minimalist set if all you want is a gun

rifle/arrow.  with the redraw patch its also a nice choice.  oil slick is very very nice.  oil+flame+auto is just dots.

rifle/dev is ok.  its mostly drone + drone for me but sometimes i toebomb with mine+m30

Going to agree nicely with TA....the Rambo build. Also Plant is a great ranged pairing...!

  4. I currently enjoy sentinels after the recent buff. They are at the right spot where I feel they do not eclipse blasters nor scrappers, but do well enough at their own niche.

As was posted above "kind of a ranged scrapper". I'll take a small hit on damage to not chase things in melee.

  5. Never bothered with Sandolphin's binds and I have well behaved pets, anyhow. Even ninjas  who love to chase things. I've managed to melee joust on the Apex TF fight with Battle Maiden's blue pools of death with Beasts no less, and no pet death, so simple can be effective with practice. After years of play, it's muscle memory for me. If I can do it, anyone can, I'm not that stellar, just practiced.

I keep only six MM  command macros:

    All pets attack (C)

    All pets goto (V)

    All pets follow (B)

    ------

    All pets Aggressive (ctr+C)

    All pets Defensive (ctr+V)

    All pets Passive (ctr+B)

That's it. When I zone pets reset to defensive. I keep them leashed until we get started, then on aggressive.  I typically keep them on aggressive to maintain uptime on attacks while I sic them on the next target. I will change to defensive or passive depending on need though.

  6. I won't argue TA is amazing. But I would also hold up Cold, and I've got a ninja/cold at 50 recently. The two go together like peanut better and jelly:

Ice shields + IOs + maneuvers + fog + 2-slotted Train Ninja with DefMods gets you 51%+ on Genin, and only gets better for Jonin and Oni.

Ninjas get Kuji in Sha heals, so they take care of bleed through damage on their own.

Arctic fog gives them some resists, and stealth ((c'mon ya gotta have stealthy pets as a ninja master!)), and is a great IO mule.

Infrigerate and Sleet are your bread and butter debuffs. Floors defense  and eats resistance. Proccable for more fun, too.

Benumb is ok for AVs, GMs, but I skip heat loss as recharge is ridiculously long.

skip frostwork. With no heal component, it is too much busy work for too little benefit, but if you team it may be ok if you have a tanker or brute buddy not at hp cap. When Oni casts his Rain of Fire, Sleet keeps them within it. And it's up virtually every spawn.

I like and keep Snowstorm. It's a one slot wonder power. While AVs will resist it greatly, other mobs will have their move and recharge crippled, which benefits your ninjas. It does draw a lot of aggro so be advised to cast it in defensive or around a corner. Between this and Sleet, you can "control" two spawns.

I went with Chill epic for theme  and it's also very complementary. Hoarfrost, Ice Armor and Hibernate keep your mastermind standing during hot moments.

Oni has a ST Ring of Fire, which is useful for keeping bosses running from your DoTs and debuffs, bridging a control gap you otherwise might have. He casts it frequently too. Acc/Mezz hami in Oni helps him stack.

just my two info...enjoy whatever you choose!

Mighty and Void both have that PBAOE to go along with Hail of Bullets.  Vorpal has a feel that goes along with Ninja and it's animation may fit well with Dual Pistols animations with Bullet Raid and Hail of Bullets.  Pyro and Ion would work well in how they're used too.

All in how one conceptualize things, right? 🙂

  8. Late to the party, but here's my two inf.

I don't have a build, I've been making heroes for 19 years (minus the 'snap'), and really don't need Mids' any more.

However, I will say it is a fun, effective combo. I like that cold rounds increase range 33%, or I swap to incendiary when I don't need moar range.

    Incarnates:

    Alpha: Muscular (for damage/EndMod)

Judgement: Nothing really fits pistols, but I do Ion for the min/max as a result.

Interface: usually Degenerative for hard targetrs

Lore: anything that fits my concept, otherwise Banished.

Destiny: Ageless for debuff resistance to preserver your DEFENSE

Hybrid: Assault radial graft. I like procs and progressive damage boosts, so I mix it up.

Honestly, Sents are so self-contained, you can go with any Incarnates and make it work.
