  1. You beat to the punch bringing up the Freezing Rain chain, but it looks like the changes across the board (both in this update and in updates over the past year or two) have been to normalize downward for the other ATs. ------------- Just want to double check: is this really intended to be 40% ResDebuff for Defenders rather than 30%? I'll definitely be playing my Storm Defenders more if so!, but I'm wondering if it's a mistype in the notes. ------------- Great set of updates, overall, though it'll take some mental adjustment (and quite a lot of respecs) to get used to some of the changes to long-standing stats for many of these powers -- moving Gloom's recharge time in the epics from 12 to 16 seconds is a game changer for 15 years of brute min/maxing, but I think it makes sense. After almost 20 years of playing this game, however, I don't mind some change. Thanks for all of the hard work!
  2. Ton of respect to you for this follow up. Rare to see that in online settings. ------- Cool build Hyper. Only thing I wondered about, aside from some of things mentioned above, is that Dull Pain has a pretty minimal slotting. Since we don't know what Rose's playing level and playing style are and since you've provided a build that puts emphasis on damage mitigation -- passive mitigation in particular -- would you want to throw another slot or two from somewhere else into Dull Pain to continue to emphasis that mitigation? Might be the only thing I'd consider, as that HP boost is nontrivial. Again, this is absent any knowledge of Rose's (the OP's) style, experience/level, and preferences. Those were the days... 😎 ---------- Cool thread for a classic powerset combination. 👍
  3. Awesome that you're giving it a try, particularly at this point in the game's life! Kahlan (from Champion Server) and Illenia (from Virtue server) were two of the first I heard about doing legit solo runs of this (without hacks, sticking LR, taking down towers and AVs from outside the warwalls, etc.) back on Live, I think both on Illusion Controllers, and I know with all the fun toys and improvements that came from I24/25 (or whatever it's being called now) that a number of people did it on the private server using things like /rad scrappers and brutes (rad makes sense for that TF as far as survivability) and even, as Corruption/FE said above, on Corruptors--although not without inspirations. Unless they've added a ton of other buff/debuff avenues in the last year or so or altered the TF in some way, I'd be surprised if a legit run could be done by most people on just about anything without at least some inspirations or the like, but who knows. It's much easier to solo a lot of these endgame TFs now than it was even at the beginning of Resurgence (or Beta or whatever it's called). It's cool to see people going for it and trying new ways and combos now that the game is busier again. The main thing I've seen on the I24/I25 runs, aside from probably obvious elements like an optimally built character (IOs, ATOs, WOs, etc.) and incarnates, is liberal use of super inspirations at the right time. Keep plenty in the mail, primarily oranges and purples, and make sure you don't over-use them. The other element is just time. A lot of solo'ing TFs is just allowing yourself the time to experiment with different things, particularly the nuances of AV behavior, pulling AVs at need, dispersing damage or debuffs to neutralize enemies like those /Rad Aeon clones, and so forth. For a TW/Bio, I'd also recommend slotting for enough passive mitigation in your build, as you'll have plenty of damage from just the combo alone. That will make managing your super inspirations easier. Looking at the speed TF thread on this site, it looks like a number of people have soloed the TF on a TW/Bio, so you might shoot them some PMs and get some tips. Good luck!
  4. 2 minutes??? How?????? There was a group that ran it not too far of this (maybe 4:00) a year or two back, and I think this is the same group under different names. There are some interesting ways you can knock time off of that trial that you might not think about. Interestingly, there's a hard limit to this trial (on a "legit' run) of something like 1:50 - 2:00 if I remember right from Live, so these folks are pulling up on the limit. It'd be cool to see it get hit. --- Cool to run into this thread here on the public servers. Aside from the OP / speed group from Champion server, it looks like a lot of the Resurgence speeders moved over here after the public servers popped up. While I'd agree with some of the posters earlier that at this point in the game's life the whole speed thing doesn't have the same value it did seven years ago, it's still really cool to see people invested in this and pushing the limit *14.5* years on from the game's launch. For newer players, players just pushing up into the high level or min/max style of playing, or players that are still pretty serious CoH players, I think this is still a useful tool and some fun motivation. It'll be cool to see what folks come up with as new updates and content come out. Thanks for kicking off the thread!
