KaizenSoze Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 This is my first serious high level hero. I am looking for improvements. Pros: Good def I have all the primary powers I wanted End recovery looks good Build partially exists 33% s/l already No purple sets Plenty of recharge Cons: Really had to load up my two immobilize powers Under enhanced caltrops, want more procs Probably over tuned in places Playstyle: Ignite (625 damage) is for immobilized bosses/AVs, since I have two immobilize powers Force feedback in slug and M30 grenade for recharge. To get, Full Auto, up ASAP. KaizenSoze Posted September 18, 2019 Author Posted September 18, 2019 Slight tweak got my range 39.9. Moved the Force Feedback from Slug to Sniper. The ATO set bonus for 6 slots is 2.5% ranged. The trade off was a slight decrease in some mezz resistance and the loss of the toxic proc. Night Pixie on Excelsior Introduction to Arachnos Widows - Night/Blood/Fortunata
Neogumbercules Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 You should really consider trip mine. It's a great ability now that there's no interrupt time. Ignite might be useful sometimes but trip mine will be useful all the time. With no Defense debuff res, all it takes is one lucky hit to begin the cascade failure of your defenses. IMO going Fire Mastery and slotting a KB to KD in Bonfire is an immense amount of damage mitigation for one power pick and a single slot. Moreso than scorpion shield probably, as enemies on their asses can't shoot back. This also provides you with protection to fire off a Full Auto without fear of much retaliation. Going this route clears up some other possibilities for powers too. Just some food for thought.
KaizenSoze Posted September 22, 2019 Author Posted September 22, 2019 Thank you for the feedback. What other fire mastery powers would you take, if any? Bonfire appears to have a lower damage and slower recharge. Also, switching to Bonfire would mean losing M30 as a effective power. M30's KB would be very bad for melee, but having said that I have not played with Bonfire. But there are subtleties in how Bonfire works that I have no exp. My lead off is usually FA->M30->FT. This allows M30 to start recharging FA. I have not re-spec into the web envelope, but I suspect it will become. FA->M30->FT->WE. Really, this is what I love about AR. My attack chain is dynamic depending on the spacing and type of mobs. Keeps me interested. On the Synapse TF yesterday, no FA or Ignite, so my chain was M30->FT->Caltrops. I have a AOE target macro for caltrops, to make it easier to use. About trip mines, I hover all the time, trip mine requires me to drop almost to the ground close to the mobs. Ignite works at range. If you play more on the ground, then trap mines makes sense. The combo of trip mines, caltrops, and ignite rock on BAF. Caltrop the prison door, put a burn patch on top of the caltrops, then mines just past the caltrops. Slow/Damage->Fire Damage->Boom! As for def debuff, I think some versions of Ageless provide debuff resistance. Not sure what all categories are covered. I will check that today. Side note, I noticed yesterday that my live build has 40% energy def. A nice surprise, considering I was building for that. KaizenSoze Posted September 25, 2019 Author Posted September 25, 2019 Here is my final build at least for the near future. 😉 Changes: Sacrificed a lot of s/l def to get 50% ranged def. Side bonus, 55.9 energy def. Dropped trip mine and summon spiderlings. I do not use trip mine. Not enough slots to make the pet worthwhile given the recharge. Added assault and vengeance. Now, I have 48% to damage, before vengeance and incarnates. Slotting vengeance with, Doctored Wounds: Recharge, and recharge rate, can get the power back up in 80 seconds. Learned that Agility recharge bonus negatively effects proc rate. Switching to barrier. Toxic web grenade is now a interesting power. You can slot it with ranged damage, Thunderstruck nets you +3.75 ranged and 159 damage in my build on a power with a 1 second recharge. Dropped Ignite after a lot of play testing. Fear effect is too high, my single target rotation for AVs does much more damage. Snipe or Quick Snipe->Slug->Burst->(Maybe toxic web grenade WIP) Dropped Ragnarok proc to keep the build no-purples. Caltrops is now proc'ed out Recharge is good enough, might not put the Force feedback in snipe. | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1477;670;1340;HEX;| |78DA7D94C94F535114C6EF7B7D1568E9C454909932D4561E54DD1B47A281A401F7E| |4A57D969734A5694B022BE7B8D7441404D4850B35AEFD2F1C978E2B57080E2B35A9| |07BEAF85A4892F6D7FEF7EF77CF7DC73874E2D9E6E7C3E71E5B8D27CA7B256B1387| |B527E4B76C13D65659C9492C77FC14A959C9495ED4B3A8B8E5D2752178366A7AD5C| |C64E9B278A456B215B9A9D762E66ED70A57366219F9F2F94CC092B9DB14BC5D0B9D| |C9C5DB07325B3F2E24DCECF67CDB359273357F2ECBECFE46D3BED83BCA33AB94C60| |B735695B69BB509C73F21D67F24ECAACE498B252B6FCECBC2FB5CBCC86F8C55376A| |B3541C250C63AD8B601461E80630FC947E0A5FF783DF4FAE9F5D39BA07758A0D1AB| |D1ABD3ABD35B4F6F3DBD1E7A2F0B5CF4BA5E40EBFBE402BF82FD8F65F46E43C53EA| |03DF61E8C4AB85B83D7FD05DA811B3AF811EDE0677249F46643B5338757B6B30E79| |555D04DA554103C6D31AD6103FBA0AC644F5729EDE97886F7C45BE06DBDF8007DF9| |2EFC00649E4C3B8CAD7AAED6AD7A415C0787AE019733D259F8071E90D3167680575| |34AD92F7C1AE35729D6BB6015E17573372EACDCB5893965BE46D7040E6D5CA7A5BE| |33C27A42E7D61AE4FB82C8F526D4A7550E9F88B2A4212D5C92C9DACACE73C66D0D3| |82B64B62BA99A53B8C9DEC39829851517B5961AF32B0DB1AA983832ED220DDA021E| |30E30F7007347983312046F566F45D93DB485AA87B7C9EFE40F70E427F90BFC1354| |2ACAD315F560BC435EB291F481313F19007F8B37CEBCF13BD00E2F9377C97B60628| |55C059BA42E93EB6CF663375A441BA7369E445C9751BDB1F2D9D9A17EA37211CBE5| |584DEF788D92A8518ED628C76A94C9BD2C725DB05649A3FA0FA0B4419EFA60F5669| |7373DD24F8FC6DBB6B55FDBC479F8B65F8B226E7B4FD3349EE4119EE47F298EE7D9| |-------------------------------------------------------------------| Night Pixie on Excelsior Introduction to Arachnos Widows - Night/Blood/Fortunata

Intrinsic Posted September 28, 2019 Posted September 28, 2019 You can put a LOTG global recharge in Vengeance. I recommend re-thinking your defense strategy. I have a blaster with 45% range defense, and I have another blaster with 45% S/L/E defense. They are both plenty durable. You really don't need to go for both typed and positional defense since they don't stack, and dropping one would let you pick up other powers and diversify your set bonuses.
KaizenSoze Posted September 28, 2019 Author Posted September 28, 2019 Yes, I am considering making some changes, but I will do that after some more play testing. I am very durable right now. Damage is good and in several ITFs the s/l defense is coming in handy as it is hard to avoid melee attacks in caves. Hello ITF speed runs. Fire Mastery and Leviathan Mastery look like the best alternatives. I am still not sold on Bonfire due to recharge time, the lost of KD in M30 grenade, and lower range def. M30 recharges so fast that I have constant KD. Leviathan has an immobilizing cone that is straight swap for enveloping grenade. A damage cone. Plus a good resist shield. Also, if I swap two either of those pools I lose vengeance or assault. Vengeance is getting much more use than I expected. On speed run someone is going down every few minutes. That is a good suggestion about the LoTG in vengeance, but I already have 330% recharge with Force Feedback in snipe and M30.
