Hey there! I was wondering if you could look at this here build and help me streamline it a little. I'm hoping to find a way to squeeze in a little extra recovery or damage into the build, as well as hopefully avoid slotting procs into powers where they don't work well.

I'm a roleplayer, and this is a concept rather than an attempt at a farmer. When building him, I wanted to avoid the route of full optimization (which is easy in part simply by picking Force Fields!) and instead focus on the following:

1) Flight as a Travel Power, because it's the best maneuverability in the game and I like it for positioning KB.

2) Having close to exactly 40% positional defenses, so that I can use Barrier Core Epiphany to get the other permanent 5% for the softcap (because maximum force fields at all times)

3) Enough Endurance Reduction and Recovery to be able to operate without a giant pile of blue inspirations.

4) A stupid-large knockback power, because I need that in my life.

5) More Knockdown than Knockback in my regular AoE powers. I see one being as good as the other for me, but Knockdown tends to make my team happier, and this is a teaming character.

Here is the build that I came up with. Price isn't really a factor for me, because I like the concept enough to put in the time and energy. I think I hit all my marks, but I'm curious to see if it could be done a little better:

Set bonuses separately, because that post was getting a little long.

As an avid lover of Force Field, I'd love to review and offer some feedback.

I have my own FF/Sonic Incarnated +3 Defender that I love. I feel you.

I'll get a post up tomorrow if that's ok.

Thank you for taking the time! I'll check in tomorrow!

I haven't forgotten this post. I loaded up your build, and overall, it looks solid. A few slot changes I might make (i.e., PPF should never have more than 1 slot IMO), but I realize this is personal pref. I also would tend to go Leadership over Fighting, but again, that's a preference style. The biggest change I might reccommend is for Mace Mastery to cap your S/L/E defense and thus freeing you up to take something else for your Destiny pool other than Barrier. Again, you have a solid build and this is liekly just a preference from my end. If you wanted to accomplish a tough blaster with plenty of knockdown, you accomplished it.

I'll post some slot / IO suggestions later. Overall, however, looks great.

Is barrier a requirement? What if I can get to softcapped range and melee def without it? This would allow you to take ageless and not have any end problems and would allow you to take a different alpha as well.

I did that initially, then decided there weren’t enough force fields. I scaled the defense back on purpose, because I’m a dork. 😛

Fantastic timing!  I just came to this subforum because I was looking to update the build for my main (see userpic), who goes all the way back to late 2004 on the live servers.

She, as Force Redux suggested, already has and will be keeping Leadership, and I'll probably make a few other minor tweaks for my own tastes; but the build looks almost perfect for my/her needs.  Thanks!
