Base head is a person who freebase or use crack. It's an older reference.

I'm not exactly young and never heard it. Though I never paid much mind to drug culture... Might be regional, too?

US? That was a very common term in 1980s/post-Nancy “Just Say No” landscape.

Its a term I'm not familiar with either and I was birthed in the early 70s. Of course, I tended to ignore things related to drugs since I wasn't interested in "altering my perception of reality".

I've always preferred being in full control of my faculties. If I didn't pay attention to the drug scene, I wouldn't be even remotely tempted by the drug scene. Therefore, I am less than knowledgeable about things pertaining to the drug scene from any time period.

 

This is all just my preference and opinion and what all. YMMV.
