kelika2 Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 Swap Thaw and Forge. Wont effect defenders much, but it gives Trollers, Corrs and Masterminds to be more useful sub level 23 (exemp) Add +resist to all but PSI to Forge. Trying to make it somewhat on par with Fortitude while not stepping on the toes of Sonic Resonance. Right now its kinda crap, the +dmg is negligible and the +tohit is not great/useful at higher levels. And even with a perma hasten build, should never have it on more than 4 targets. Power of the Phoenix: Remove the knockback or make it .67 mag, or allow it to accept Knockback enhancements for Sudden Acceleration. Melt Armor: Cooldown reduced or make it a toggle. Right now the -def does not help as much as you think since the power is available in the 30s, where most get their IOs and while -22% resist is neato but diminished by the cooldown. 1
siolfir Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 For Melt Armor they could reduce the cooldown by a full minute, increase the radius by 10', increase the range by 10', and lower the endurance cost by 2.6; that's what Slowed Response has in Time Manipulation. Sure, it lasts 10 seconds longer but the mobs are dead by then and I'd rather have it available more often and hitting more targets for less endurance. And speaking of having Melt Armor available more often, if you're going to swap Forge with anything, swap it with Melt Armor.
Noyjitat Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 If they reduced the cooldown on melt armor it would recharge quickly enough to be placed on 2-3 mobs at once making it too nice. My thermal defender already has perma melt armor from sets/spiritual core paragon. Your forge idea isn't bad but this set is already super universal having heals, resistance buffs, mez protection and debuffs all in one. I think about the only thing this needs is buffing thaw to last 120 seconds like other buffs; Something clearmind, enforced morale and clarity could all use honestly...

As I said, if they reduced the cooldown by a full minute it would match that of Time Manipulation, a set that also includes a +50% global recharge power that affects the person using it. At the rechage cap (+400%) and a 90 second base recharge instead of the 150 it has now, it would have an 18 second recharge, so once you throw in animation time (1.5 sec) you aren't going to have it affecting triple spawns for more than 1 second, and it replaces the effect instead of stacking with itself (unlike Sleet or Freezing Rain, which stack because the effect is from different sources), so who cares if someone wants to refresh it early? Besides, I was assuming that the duration would be reduced to 30 seconds - again, to match Slowed Response, which, except for duration and animation time, does the exact same effect in a wider area, at a longer range, for a lower endurance cost. Agree with most of this but Forge - Therm already gives pretty solid +res in the shields without needing an extra source, and Forge is the best single-target ally damage buff in the game (50% on Defenders, 40% on Corruptors/Controllers, 30% on MMs). Painbringer's +dam value is slightly higher, of course, but you can only keep that on one person at a time without some significant recharge buffs.
