Hello.

I'm new to blasters.

I made this build for my char, and I wanna be sure I don't get lost on him (it's an all purpose pve toon)

Here is my build. Less defense for sure but tons more recharge. This is very fun on teams and can solo (I rarely do). All your big attacks are up often, great single target and aoe and you can boom every 30 seconds. This is enough defense for me to feel very sturdy and I carry purples for when it's hairy or I'm taking an alpha.

I looked into his build and mine is relatively similar, mine ends up capping S/L/E w/ barrier and having higher resists, my cooldowns are very slightly longer, but not anything drastic. There is more proc potential in certain places, feel free to look over both builds and determine which feedback you'd like to implement 🙂

This is main build I've been tweaking lately. Goals were to get defenses softcapped, maintain strong slotting percentages in all relevant powers, get decent recharge (Chronos on CD is essentially 10% more global recharge), have no cones or rains, have only one melee attack, and have fast attacks to remain mobile with complete 3d movement.

 

It truly is a masterpiece in my eyes. It exemplars very well with a great attack chain at every level since I'm willing to blap and 2 of my 3 AoEs are PBAoE- has great defenses early on that get better with leveling. By 50 it caps tons of defenses, decent resists, decent recharge, doesn't rely on procs (which may be nerfed at some point). It feels incredibly sturdy, often taking alphas for TFs on trash, and soloing 3x8 without a problem.  Aging Touch makes a great power replacement for Flares once Blaze and Blazing Touch are aquired. End of Time is a very functional replacement for Breath of Fire as a 2nd AoE that is far easier to position. Time Shift is a mule mostly but makes a decent oh shit button. It gets Musculature and Assault Hybrid too.

 

If anyone has any recommendations I'd gladly take a look at any possible improvements the build could make! (The empty slots are for the Energy Transfer heal procs coming out next patch for extra sustain to stack with the absorb/defense/resist.)

Also I have a much cheaper alternative that only caps ranged defenses and gets real close to capping S/L resists at the same time. It's tougher to stay in melee with this build though, making it more of a ranged version with a couple melee powers for Makos :

Ooh, I’m gonna make one now, I want to play it as a hover blaster, could anyone tweak the above to make it function mainly as a capped ranged defence with Max dps, don’t mind taking one or two melees if they’re really nice dmg but otherwise hover blasting is superior as you miss most attacks due to ranged attacks being slower and fewer.

My post right above yours at the bottom includes a cheaper +ranged def version of the build that hover blasts. Not sure if anyone else has a super high recharge version but would like to see one without too much compromise on defense.
