Looking for Budget Fire/Kin

Hello All,

 

I am making a fire/kin corruptor for use mainly in normal missions and taskforces.  I've seen some awesome looking builds, but they all seem pretty pricey.  I wanted to ask for some help in getting a slightly more budget friendly build (no purples, no ATOs) that will perform well in team. I might be able to swing the ATO sets. I'm not sure if I should be trying to softcap range and then shoot for recharge.  Or perhaps try softcapping S/L/E and then shooting for rech.  Not really sure how to get there without breaking the bank.  I'm hoping to not spend more than 100-120m on the build.  Not sure if that is possible.  It doesn't need to be godly.  Just solid.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This gets you S/L/E defense. (With agility, although 43 is still enough for most)

 

To be honest, if you were down for doing Purples/ATOs/WinterIOs you could do All defenses except Psi, as well as have a bit more recharge.

 

But --> Siphon speed can stack up to 3 times, that's 60% recharge, with Hasten, that becomes 130%. You don't need a lot of rech on top of that to get to your perma hasten when fighting, you just need to auto siphon speed.

 

I can post this one, which is closer to a budget, and then one where it's capped out.

And here is the other one, if you wanted to get all your defenses save for negative/psi to softcap

 

If you like your toon enough, this may be another thing you can roll into. However, you could also go the route where you get resistances instead, and kind of easily cap S/L/someother resistance type, since that usually gives a bit more survivability.

I wouldn't skip rune of protection in a budget build its added mez protection is too good to pass up and it also adds a lot of resistance. I would go with this instead. I tried to keep it cheap, but I did use the superior ATOs because they add so much to the build. This has 198.8% recharge with one siphon speed and no purple sets and only a few pvp ios.

I was tweaking the builds to get even more budget friendly and came up with the following.  No purples.  Only a few expensive non-ATO enhancements.  Only one set of ATO, but I could also switch that out for something cheaper, but energy defense would take a slight hit.  What do you think?

I know you have transference to help with endurance, but a recovery of 1.98/s would still have endurance problems. I'm guessing you turned off stamina? Also, you should definitely use the panacea proc in health. I would also want more recharge. Recharge really shines on a kin user, it let's you use all your best attacks sooner and use a better attack chain. With this much recharge you'd need four attacks to have a complete ST attack chain.

Thanks for the feedback.  Very good points brought up especially about endurance.  Keep in mind mine is not a final build, but rather one to use as I collect funds to eventually make it more like your kintank build.  

 

Yeah I did have stamina turned off. I could probably swing a miracle + recovery and move a slot around to slot it in health. I can probably move around another slot to beef up stamina. I’ll have to check the prices on panacea again tonight, but when I checked before those were pretty expensive. So I that one may need to wait for later down the road. 
 

I plan to take the ageless destiny, which will help with endurance. I’ll eventually get the other ATO and split it, which will help give me some more recharge. Looking at the agility alpha power again, I suppose I should take that one anyway, even thought I softcapped s/l/e without it, as it still benefits recharge and recovery as well as defense. Or I could potentially take spiritual for greater recharge. I take it I will be at the damage cap with fulcrum shift so musculature would be a waste correct?

So an update. My corruptor is only level 42 right now, but I am following the tweaked build I posted. I made a few minor changes to improve recovery like adding in miracle + recovery and panacea. 
 

I have almost all of the expensive item purchased and slotted. The most expensive by far was the ATO set.  I bought cheaper items and converted to get the LOTG, Panacea, Miracle, and defense global increases.  Probably saved a good 30m doing that. 
 

Biggest expense I still need to make is the preventative medicine set. I think I can probably get that for 15-18m. 
 

So that added to the amount I’ve already spent (including cost of converters used), I will have spent about 140m on the build. The endurance issues Darkir brought up are have been cleared with the recovery IOs.  They will be a completely non issue once I get Ageless.  Otherwise it is a S/L/E softcapped with decent resists on S/L budget build.

 

Damage is good. Recharge is good in my opinion. Between hasten, siphon speed, and global bonuses things recharge fairly quickly. Recharge will get a lot better as I upgrade though. 
 

I think it will be pretty easy to upgrade as I go along as well. All of the IOs I used are used often enough that they can be resold. And many of them are used in the more expensive builds. 
 

I know 150m (rounded up for easy number) is still a lot for many people, but it is as cheap as I could figure out how to do it.  Use converters to get the expensive globals to help make it cheaper. 
 

I will post the updated build later tonight in case anyone else wants to use it.  I will also post an update once I reach 50, have the full build, and a couple incarnates unlocked.
